As the process of artificial intelligence progresses, it is recognized that computational thinking is one of the basic skills for understanding and solving problems and one of the core literacies of the IT discipline. There are various ways to develop students' computational thinking, and at the primary and secondary school levels, graphical programming classes are an important way to do so. This study establishes a framework for an instructional program aimed at developing students' computational thinking skills based on elementary school graphic programming classes. Combining curriculum standards, graphic programming standards for youth programming skills, and International Computational Thinking Challenge standards, relevant teaching cases are designed to foster students' computational thinking and promote the development of computational concepts, computational practices, and computational concepts.

Many Internet of Things (IoT) technologies interconnect physical sensors, actuators, and heterogeneous computing devices within the existing Internet infrastructure, which make our life more convenient. ArduTalk is a graphical programming environment based on IoTtalk, which aims to develop internetworking Arduino applications for multiple Arduino boards. Therefore, sensors and actuators can be plugged in different Arduino boards, and the user can utilize ArduTalk to arbitrarily link and re-link sensors to actuators to create different applications for different purposes, which is a very convenient way to develop IoT applications especially for beginners. Performance measurement shows that the actuator still has a quick response time when the actuator is triggered by a sensor through ArduTalk.

graphical programming languages such as simulink, Hypersignal and others have barn coming into use recently for rapid prototyping of DSP algorithms. Using such languages amounts to dragging functional blocks from libraries and connecting them to form a block diagram, which is also a program. Beyond their value to application development these programming languages are also vert useful as classroom teaching aids. In this paper we present a number of useful demonstrations in Simulink. Each of them demonstrates interesting aspects Of DSP, and art: useful for classroom demonstrations and as a basis for further experimentation by the students. Using them can enhance the students grasp of complicated subjects in DSP. and increase their interest in the subject matter. The major advantages of using simulink for tills purpose is that constructing them requires a relatively small investment of time on the part of the instructor and that they call easily be extended and experimented oil by the students.

Mocha Chip is a system for designing module generators. There are two unique aspects to this system: diagrams are used to represent the structure of a module generator, and assembly primitives ensure that the generated layout obeys geometrical design rules and is properly connected. Module generators are created using hierarchical diagrams rather than programs. The idea is to draw diagrams describing the topology of a class of modules, and to parameterize the diagrams to indicate how the individual modules differ. Parameterization is done using Lisp and special built-in cells that provide graphical representations of iteration and conditional selection. The diagrams may be considered to be a graphical programming language tailored to IC design. Diagrams can invoke either other diagrams or cells of mask geometry drawn by the user. Describing module generators with graphics rather than text adds flexibility to the module generator. Textual languages, such as programming languages, tend to obscure the geometrical relationships. Mocha Chip separates out the module structure and represents it graphically, resulting in module generators that are easier to design and modify. Openness and ease of modification are important since users need to tailor module generators to produce specialized modules. Layout for a module is produced using two pairwise assembly operators that take pieces of layout and combine them to form a larger pieces. The tile-packing operator aligns user-specified rectangles. The river-route-space operator uses two phases. The routing phase connects ports that do not line up exactly, and the cell spacing phase places the cells and routing as close together as rules allow. The assembly process guarantees that no geometrical design rules will be violated and that the proper connections will be made. In other tile-based module generation systems, the user must manually check to make sure that all possible combinations of tiles will fit together properly. This

Intuitive with a low error rate and high reliability, graphical programming has become the development trend of embedded software development. However, the heterogeneity of the graphical programming system makes it impossible for programs, components, and projects to interact across different systems. XML has advantages such as self-description and scalability, thereby facilitating the expression of various types of data. With XML being the intermediary language for heterogeneous systems, the paper proposes an XML automatic conversion method based on pattern matching. This method achieves automatic conversion of graphical programming heterogeneous data by converting the heterogeneous source data into the specific XML descriptive format and applying it in the PLC embedded graphical programming in the field of industrial control.

Usually, Machine Condition Monitoring (MCM) applications have been reserved to only mission-critical equipment and non-monitored devices and required highly trained personnel, due to the high cost and complexity of such systems. With the lower cost and flexibility afforded by PC-based tools, MCM applications are becoming more widespread. The use of the Personal Computer (PC) has also allowed the development and use of new signal analysis algorithms in the time, frequency, order and joint time-frequency domains in an easy and intuitive manner. The vibration monitoring market has shown years of steady growth driven in part by the lower cost and wider availability of tools for real-time data acquisition and signal analysis using standard PCs. This paper will help guide the first time PC-based MCM system developer and/or user through the MCM system design and development process using data acquisition boards and a graphical programming language.

Image processing and computer vision algorithms are very computationally intensive and could not be implemented on low power microcontroller used in embedded and small IoT devices. Performing computation on the cloud is not practical for always-on real-time operations and deploying a high-end microcontroller or a microprocessor consume too much power and are generally too expensive to fit into these small systems. In this paper, we propose a new programming workflow using reusable hardware modules and a graphical programming interface for implementing a complete image processing system on an FPGAs which overcomes the steep learning curve of tradition FPGAs design tool. The design can be deployed onto the low-ended FPGAs in a similar price point as a mid-range microcontroller. To demonstrate our proposed framework, we have implemented a number of image transformation operations on an FPGAs development board with Lattice iCE40 Ultra Plus FPGA and a tiny camera module. Results have shown that our designs can fit in a low-ended FPGAs while performing 5.5-345x faster and consuming 2.4-4x less power compared to current state-of-the-art microcontroller used in small embedded and IoT devices.

Web-based simulation and motion planning for human-robot and multi-robot applications

This paper introduces the human-robot and multi-robot programming and simulation capabilities of a web-based, open-source robot programming and simulation tool called Assembly. The tool supports scenarios with up to three robots and provides support for simulating human arms working closely with a robot. To facilitate the simulation of scenarios involving human-robot and robot-robot collaboration, the paper proposes an improved version of the neural network-based Adaptive Simplex Motion Planner, which is capable of performing motion planning at a rate of over 3500 Hz. The improved toolpath planner uses an obstacle avoidance approach that leverages ray casting and shadow volume teachniques. The new planner is evaluated on the basis of two human-robot and multi-robot simulation scenarios and the results are compared to those of the original algorithm.
