Most existing studies on connected and automated vehicle (CAV) applications apply simulation to evaluate system effectiveness. Model accuracy, limited data for calibration, and simulation assumptions limit the validity of evaluation results. One alternative approach is to use emerging hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing methods that allow physical test vehicles to interact with virtual vehicles from traffic simulation models. This provides an evaluation environment that can replicate deployment conditions at early stages of CAV implementation-without incurring excessive costs related to large field tests. In this study, a hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing system for CAV applications is proposed. Cooperative adaptive cruise control (CACC) is one of the key CAV applications that has received a lot of attention. This study develops a HIL proof-of-concept testing prototype for CAV applications in a vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) environment. The contributions of this study include developing a HIL testing architecture for V2V-based CAV applications;implementing the proposed HIL architecture;developing a prototype;and testing CACC as the selected use case to observe HIL system performance. The results of this effort also contribute to a better understanding of CACC string performance.

Firstly, this paper analyzed in theory two kinds of frequency regulation control strategies, swing equation control strategy and additional frequency regulation characteristics control strategy, which were adopted by the demonstration project. The differences between two strategies in frequency modulation start-up time, oscillation risk, mode of supporting power, inertia response dead zone and so on were compared and studied. Then, relying on the recorded field data, paper showed the actual frequency modulation effect and characteristics of differences between the two strategies. Lastly, we optimized the VSG control strategies and proposed two new ones to make full ues of the available power of PV-VSG and coordination of photovoltaic and energy storage effectively to stable the grid frequency. The effectiveness of new control strategies was verified on a RT-LAB semi-physical simulation platform. This work is supported by science and technology project of the headquarter of State Grid Corporation of China.

An electro-hydraulic actuation system with critically lapped servovalve and pressurized return line is exposited. The dynamic equations governing the behavior of various components are explained;using these nonlinear equations, a simulation model is developed in Simulink software for the purpose of controller design and verification. Model requires very small integration step size as the equations involved are stiff. A relationship between the various pressures in the system is derived, and a simplified method for the nonlinear modeling of electro hydraulic actuating system is developed using these relationships. The simplified model is computationally efficient as the integration step-size is large compared to the original model. In this article, through the introduction and analysis of the shell and tube heat exchanger, given the calculation formula, transfer resistance and equation about dynamic characteristics of the exchanger. A self-learning fuzzy algorithm is designed to optimize main temperature controller PID parameters online, did the Matlab simulation and hardware-in-the-loop simulation experiment in the platform of SMPT1000. Achieved on-line temperature control and efficiency monitor of the heat exchanger. Experiments show that the self-learning fuzzy optimization of the heat exchanger temperature control and efficiency monitor, have high temperature control precision, short adjustment time, strong disturbance resistance and high heat transfer efficiency. o(3) It solves the problem that the temperature of the heat exchanger is not well controlled and the efficiency is difficult to be effectively monitored.

The simulation turntable is an important device for the hardware-in-the-loop simulation of satellites or other spacecraft. It can simulate the movement attitude of the spacecraft in space such as roll, pitch, and yaw, and is widely applied in electromagnetic countermeasure, space shooting and other fields. This paper takes the on-orbit service spacecraft as the research object, studies the coordinate system transformation and implementation problems of ground simulation of spacecraft attitude based on the five-axis turntable, designs the coordinate system conversion process and verifies the effectiveness of the conversion process. The coordinate system conversion method studied in this paper can effectively realize the ground simulation of spacecraft attitude on the five-axis turntable, providing theoretical guidance and effective methods for solving the problems of attitude simulation in on-orbit service tasks, having more important guiding values for simulating experiments in the field of aerospace engineering such as rendezvous and docking.

The energy transition requires simulators that aid the research on and validation of energy management systems. Hereby, these systems not solely focus on electricity, but involve the optimization of multiple energy carriers in a multi-energy system. This paper presents DEMKit, an open-source toolkit with device, grid and control components for such a multi-energy management solution. The modular design allows DEMKit to test different optimization algorithms on the same scenario. Device components can be replaced by adapters to control real hardware in a deployment or hardware-in-the-loop simulation. Results of a demonstration setup of DEMKit in a smart home show the potential of using DEMKit to bridge the gap between scientific research and test new solutions in practice.
