Emerging practical deployments for the Internet of Things (IoT) trigger a need to integrate and inter-operate a variety of heterogenous networks to realize real business values. Several applications require the integration of wireless sensor networks (WSN), WiFi, and Radio Frequency Identifiers (RFID) into one single network to fulfil business requirements. As most of such deployments are characterized as being large-scale and heterogeneous, special algorithms and techniques are needed in order to deal with data collection, processing, and transmission in such networks. Results reported in the literature confirm that clustering techniques can be very efficient in dealing with routing in large-scale networks. However;due to the heterogeneity of IoT networks, the use of conventional clustering techniques may not result in an efficient clustering. Accordingly, in this paper, we attempt to address this problem by studying the use of evolutionary clustering algorithms in integrated WSN-RFID networks. In particular, the performance of two evolutionary algorithms;namely the Genetic algorithms (GA) and the harmonysearch (HS), is analyzed and compared. It is shown that, the GA outperforms the HS significantly in the cluster formation process for integrated WSN-RFID networks.

An efficient methodology for the tuning of proportional-integral controllers' gains for the generator-side converter of a wind turbine driven permanent magnet synchronous generator using a self-adaptive global best harmony search algorithm is proposed. Performance of the generator with the optimized controller parameters obtained using the proposed algorithm is compared with the parameters obtained using the Ziegler-Nichols technique, bees colony, and simulated annealing algorithms. Studies demonstrate that the performance of the system with the optimized controller parameters permits an improvement of the converter capability.

The transits constitute the traffic skeleton of the city. With the installation of the high-tech sensors and the emergence of the high-speed communication, interest to grant bus priority via traffic signals grows rapidly during recent years. Pre-signal is an additional traffic signal located upstream of the main signal, which is used to discontinue the private cars and accordingly allow buses jumping the car queue. Compared with the traditional dedicated bus lane through the whole link, the pre-signal can provide bus priority meanwhile minimizing the negative impacts on car traffic. In this paper, we propose an adaptive signal strategy for a traffic network by adjusting the pre-signal as well as the main signal in order to minimize the total passenger delay. A macroscopic model based on cell transmission model is developed, where the link is partitioned into the car cell, the bus cell and the mixed cell. The merging and the diverging of the car flow and the bus flow are elaborated modeled for each type of the cell. With the aim to obtain the signal setting in real time, the harmony search algorithm is adopted to solve the optimization problem. Finally, the case studies illustrate the efficacy of the proposed strategy.

The algorithm considers both technical and pedagogical point of view. This work investigates the problem of extending the lifetime of dynamic WSNs with energy-harvesting (EH) sensors to enhancing the total WSN lifetime. This problem is modeled as finding the maximal number of covers each of which can cover all targets to be monitored. Since the concerned problem is also NP-complete, this work proposes a novel harmony search algorithm. By simulation, the proposed algorithm is shown to be promising.

Mechanical spindle in the high-speed operation due to an uneven distribution of the rotor mass, causing the spindle to vibrate thus affecting its accuracy. Therefore, the model of mechanical spindle vibration prediction is of great significance. The mechanism of mechanical spindle vibration prediction is complex, and the amplitude of vibration varies nonlinearly with the speed. It is difficult to establish accurate model of mechanical spindle vibration prediction. In this paper, RNN (Recurrent Neural Network) recurrent neural network is used to establish the model of mechanical spindle vibration prediction. The vibration amplitude of the built-in balance block at different positions and spindle speeds is predicted. harmonysearch(HS)Through self-learning update, thereby improving the accuracy of the mechanical spindle vibration prediction model. The experimental results show that the HS-RNN-based mechanical spindle vibration prediction method proposed in this paper can automatically determine the network structure and accurately predict the vibration amplitude of the mechanical spindle.

Aiming at overcoming the shortcomings of common telecommunication customer churn prediction models as single model and poor classification performance, a gradient decision tree integration model (GBDT) prediction model is proposed, and the important parameters are searched by harmonic searchalgorithm (HS). We built a telecom customer churn prediction model based on HS-GBDT algorithm. This model compares the parameter combinations to be optimized in the GBDT algorithm into the synthesized harmony in the HS algorithm, and seeks the optimal parameter combination of the GBDT model through continuous iteration of the harmony. The experimental results show that the combined model has higher classification accuracy than Logistic regression, support vector machine and random forest, and can provide good decision support for major telecom operators in the process of customer churn management.

This paper presents a new strategy includes of fuzzy PID controller and Flexible AC transmission system (FACTS) devices in power system for damping the oscillation. This models improves the stability in multi-machine power system by coupling the fuzzy controller with an intelligent algorithm and equipping the FACTS devices to control voltages and power flows. Also, the thyristor-controlled series capacitor (TCSC) as well as Static VAR Compensator (SVC) effects have been considered in this design. The harmony search algorithm (HSA) is applied in this model for fine tuning of the fuzzy PID parameters through time overriding and stability enhancement of proposed controller. Effectiveness of the proposed approach is applied over standard multi-machine power system through comparison with other techniques. Obtained results demonstrate the validity of proposed strategy.

To deal with the default of harmony search algorithm (HSA) of trapping into local optima for search for optimization results. An improved algorithm-harmonysearch has been presented in this paper. And inspired by big data analysis, I present a new concept-analysis and application of historical data. A mass of data, generated in the search process of the HSA, can be used to set up an instructive think tank to guide the optimizing search instead of the optimal solution and elitist solution app: addword: Elitist solution. After that, a probability distribution model is built according to historical data to forecast search trend. Specifically, the following tasks will be carried out and applied in image processing.
