Li-Ion Battery State of Health Estimation Using hybrid Decision Tree Model Optimized by Bayesian Optimization

Accurately battery state of health (SOH) estimation in electric vehicles (EVs) is crucial for optimal performance and safety. This article presents an in-depth investigation into the utilization of an optimized decision tree (DT) model for precise SOH estimation. Two aging features (AFs) are extracted through incremental capacity analysis from the partial charging process, and their efficacy is thoroughly validated on both battery cells and packs. To capture the relationship between AFs and capacity degradation, a robust DT model is established. Furthermore, Bayesian optimization is employed to optimize the model hyperparameters, enhancing the learning and generalization capabilities of the DT model. To validate the optimized DT model, a battery management system (BMS) is developed using a hybrid programming approach with LabVIEW and MATLAB, enabling online SOH estimation. The BMS undergoes rigorous evaluation using publicly available aging datasets of battery cells, as well as private datasets of battery packs. The results demonstrate that the optimized DT model outperforms traditional DT models, back propagation neural networks, and support vector machine approaches in accurately estimating battery SOH across diverse datasets. This research contributes to the advancement of BMS and holds profound implications for the efficient utilization of batteries in EVs. Based on the standard charging process, two battery aging features are extracted by employing the incremental capacity analysis. To capture the underlying relationship between aging features and capacity, the hyperparameters of a decision tree are determined through Bayesian optimization. A hybrid Parallel Delaunay Image-to-mesh Conversion Algorithm Scalable on Distributed-memory Clusters

In this paper, we present a scalable three dimensional hybrid MPI+Threads parallel Delaunay image-to-mesh conversion algorithm. A nested master-worker communication model for parallel mesh generation is implemented which simultaneously explores process-level parallelization and thread-level parallelization: inter-node communication using MPI and inter-core communication inside one node using threads. In order to overlap the communication (task request and data movement) and computation (parallel mesh refinement), the inter-node MPI communication and intra-node local mesh refinement is separated. The master thread that initializes the MPI environment is in charge of the inter-node MPI communication while the worker threads of each process are only responsible for the local mesh refinement within the node. We conducted a set of experiments to test the performance of the algorithm on Turing, a distributed memory cluster at Old Dominion University High Performance Computing Center and observed that the granularity of coarse level data decomposition, which affects the coarse level concurrency, has a significant influence on the performance of the algorithm. With the proper value of granularity, the algorithm expresses impressive performance potential and is scalable to 30 distributed memory compute nodes with 20 cores each (the maximum number of nodes available for us in the experiments).

A Case Study on Using a Proto-Application as a Proxy for Code Modernization

To take full advantage of future HPC systems, hybrid parallelization strategies are required. In a previous work, we demonstrated the Divide and Conquer, D&C, approach for efficient parallelization of finite element methods on unstructured meshes. In this paper we experiment the concept of proto-application as a proxy between computer scientists and application de- velopers on a real industrial use-case. The D&C library has been entirely developed on the proto-application and then validated on the original application. We also ported the D&C library to another fluid dynamic application, AETHER, developed by Dassault Aviation. The results show that the speed-up validated on the proto-application can be reproduced on other full scale applications using similar computational patterns.

This paper uses C# to design a graphical user interface,combined with Fortran,Python,ANSYS and other platforms to establish a visual finite element analysis（FEA） platform,*** major program includes a pre-processing part of inputting parameter values,using the C#'s own file operation to generate relevant physics *** the calculation part,the finite element analysis software is called in the background by Fortran subroutines,and the FEA physics files are imported for the implementation of parametric modeling *** the post-processing stage,the data in the results document is processed to generate relevant data tables,curves,dynamic cloud diagrams and so on,which then are displayed on the main interface to realize visualization,digital railgun modeling and *** code provides the basis for the fast finite element analysis on the composite railgun barrel.

In order to monitor the working state of piston motor and measure its instantaneous rotation speed accurately, the measuring principle and method of instantaneous rotation speed based on industrial personal computer and data acquisition card are introduced, and the major error source, influence mechanism and processing method of data quantization error are dis- cussed. By means of hybrid programming approach of LabVIEW and MATLAB, the instantaneous rotation speed measurement system for the piston motor in variable speed hydraulic system is designed. The simulation and experimental results show that the designed instantaneous speed measurement system is feasible. Furthermore, the sampling frequency has an important influ- ence on the instantaneous rotation speed measurement of piston motor and higher sampling frequency can lower quantization er- ror and improve measurement accuracy.

hybridization is the process of converting an application with a single level of parallelism to an application with multiple levels of parallelism. Over the past 15 years a majority of the applications that run on High Performance Computing systems have employed MPI for all of the parallelism within the application. In the Peta-Exascale computing regime, effective utilization of the hardware requires multiple levels of parallelism matched to the macro architecture of the system to achieve good performance. A hybridized code base is performance portable when sufficient parallelism is expressed in an architecture agnostic form to achieve good performance on a range of available systems. The hybridized S3D code is performance portable across today's leading many core and GPU accelerated systems. The OpenACC framework allows a unified code base to be deployed for either (Manycore CPU or Manycore CPU+GPU) while permitting architecture specific optimizations to expose new dimensions of parallelism to be utilized.

Guided installation of basic linear algebra routines in a cluster with manycore components

Computational systems are nowadays composed of basic computational components that share multiprocessors and coprocessors of different types, typically several graphics processing units (GPUs) or many integrated cores (MICs), and those computational components are combined in heterogeneous clusters of nodes with different characteristics, including coprocessors of different types, with varying numbers of nodes at different speeds. The software previously developed and optimized for simpler system needs to be redesigned and reoptimized for these new, more complex systems. The adaptation to hybrid multicore+multiGPU and multicore+multiMIC of autotuning techniques for basic linear algebra routines is analyzed. The matrix-matrix multiplication kernel, which is optimized for different computational system components through guided experimentation, is studied. The routine is installed for each node in the cluster, and the information generated from individual installations may be used for a hierarchical installation in a cluster. The basic matrix-matrix multiplication may, in turn, be used inside higher level routines, which delegate their efficient execution to the optimization of the lower level routine. Experimental results are satisfactory in different multicore+multiGPU and multicore+multiMIC systems. So the guided search of execution configurations for satisfactory execution times proves to be a useful tool for heterogeneous systems, where the complexity of the system means a correct use of highly efficient routines and libraries is difficult.

The paper works on realization of wave direction estimation algorithm on upper computer software of acoustics wave gauge, now existing software is based on Delphi. Considering the scientific computing ability of Delphi is poor, and wave direction estimation algorithm is complicated, it is hard to realize the algorithm on Delphi. The paper adopts hybrid programming based on Delphi and Matlab to realize the algorithm, respectively using powerful scientific computing ability of Matlab, and good man-machine interface of Delphi. The research shows that the method is feasible, the upper computer software can accurately estimate wave direction, the method is relatively simple, and the development cycle is short.

Aiming at the multi-modal three-dimensional skull registration, a methodology for constructing invariants of pupil distance relative features based on Clifford algebra is proposed in present work. Through hybrid programming of MATLAB and C#, a corresponding visualization registration platform is built for visualization operation. The algorithm proposed here is accomplished in the Clifford algebra space, in which binocular corneal highest feature points is utilized to calculate the pupil distance and construct geometric feature axis, and the registration is realized by rotation operator. The visualization registration platform integrates functions of three-dimensional reconstruction, translation, rotation, intercepting section, database access, etc. It allows researchers to analyze the registration fusion effect better. Additionally, MySQL database is embedded in the platform to store registration procedures, which provides intuitive and detailed registration information for medical workers and plays a great supporting role for the furthermore study of registration algorithm. Experimental results indicate that the registration algorithm is effective, and the visualization platform also performs well in medical image visualization and interactive operation.
