Comprehensive fault diagnosis of lithium-ion batteries: An innovative approach based on hybrid coding and genetic search

The performance and lifespan of lithium-ion batteries are significantly impacted by various faults. In particular, concurrent faults result in complex crossover and coupling issues, which present considerable challenges to fault diagnosis. To address these issues, this paper proposes a comprehensive fault diagnosis method utilizing hybrid coding and genetic search. The Lyapunov index between predicted and faulty battery states is applied to calculate trajectory divergence rates, facilitating the detection of abnormal battery conditions. Fault modes are uniformly characterized using a hybrid code, and a population is generated for genetic search optimization, from which the most suitable solution is selected. Experimental results indicate that, compared to the original approach, the improved Lyapunov index enhances detection accuracy and robustness in handling abnormal data. Furthermore, the hybrid coding and genetic search-based algorithm effectively isolates and classifies faults in multi-fault scenarios.

This letter addresses the complexity of the hybrid entropy encoder in the Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems (CCSDS) 123.0-B-2 compression standard and proposes an improved encoding method. By eliminating the refresh table from the original standard, simplifying the encoding process, and using forward decoding, the proposed method significantly reduces encoding complexity and enhances error resilience. The improved algorithm is particularly optimized for handling high-resolution accumulators, reducing bitstream redundancy while maintaining compression performance comparable to the original standard. Experimental results demonstrate that the new algorithm excels in both lossless and lossy compression, achieving higher compression ratios (CRs) and better image quality, making it well-suited for satellite platform applications with bandwidth and power consumption constraints.

hybrid coding algorithm for digital protection of video image

In traditional coding algorithm, sampling and compressing are used to reduce the utilization of sampling data, without taking into account the visual redundancy of human eyes. Therefore, a hybrid coding algorithm based on wavelet zerotree and fractal is proposed. Firstly, the concept of wavelet zero tree and fractal is explained. According to the gradient formula, the blocks of video image after segmentation are divided into 3 kinds, and the coding of image blocks is transformed into wavelet domain. At the same time, the wavelet coefficients of all the restored wavelet coefficients are transformed to obtain the reconstructed image. The experimental results show that the algorithm enlarges the range of search space, enriches the diversity of coding, and improves the global search ability of the algorithm, which has some application value.

Circuit reliability estimation based on an iterative PTM model with hybrid coding

Using the probabilistic transfer matrix model as the major technology, this paper firstly separated the presentation and quantification of signal relations, and blocked the concurrent signals in fan-out by hybrid coding;secondly a method to construct the output reliability matrixes and output probability distributions of basic circuit components was proposed based on a virtual method;and then a method to achieve the reliability iterative propagation between the pre-stage and post-stage circuit was designed using a weak equivalence principle. The theoretical analysis and experiment results show that the proposed method can be applied to the reliability evaluation for several-abstract-level circuits that have high calculation precision and linear complexity in time and space. Reversible Data Hiding in Encrypted Images With Secret Sharing and hybrid coding

Reversible data hiding in encrypted images (RDHEI) is an essential data security technique. Most RDHEI methods cannot perform well in embedding capacity and security. To address this issue, we propose a new RDHEI method using Chinese remainder theorem-based secret sharing (CRTSS) and hybrid coding. Specifically, a hybrid coding is first proposed for RDH to achieve high embedding capacity. At the content owner side, a novel iterative encryption is designed to conduct block based encryption for perfectly preserving the spatial correlation of original blocks in their encrypted blocks. Then, the CRTSS with the constraints is exploited to generate multiple encrypted image shares, in which spatial correlations of the encrypted blocks are also preserved. Meanwhile, the CRTSS provides good security properties for the proposed method. Since there are strong spatial correlations in the blocks of each share, the data-hider can exploit the proposed hybrid coding to perform data embedding for improving capacity. On the receiver side, even if some shares are corrupted/missing, the original image can be losslessly recovered as long as enough uncorrupted marked shares are obtained. Experiment results show that the proposed RDHEI method outperforms some state-of-the-art methods, including some secret sharing (SS) based methods in terms of embedding capacity.

Motivated by recent advances in joint source-channel coding over networks, hybrid (analog/digital) coding has been proposed as a coding technique for discrete memoryless relay networks, whereby each relay transmits a symbol-by-symbol function of the received sequence at the channel output and its quantized version (analog-to-analog/digital interface). For a few simple channel models, it has been demonstrated that hybrid coding unifies both amplify-forward and noisy network coding and can strictly outperform both. This paper extends these results to the class of general layered relay networks and establishes the hybrid coding lower bound on the capacity for the class.

This paper presents a motion analysis algorithm (MAA) and a hybrid coding method for contour image sequence compression. The contour image sequence consists of objects moving and rotating in a 3-D world with occlusion, shape, and size variations from frame to frame. The MAA separates the moving image sequence into several object-oriented subsequences (OOSs). In each OOS, the component is either stationary or moves smoothly, and the motion parameters can be easily estimated. The first and last frames of OOS are key frames, and the others are in-between frames. The key frames are unpredictable, and the entire frames need to be encoded. The in-between frames are compensable, and they are encoded by the motion parameter coding. The hybrid coder uses vectorgraph coding to remove spatial redundancy of the key frames and motion parameter coding to reduce the temporal redundancy of the OOSs. The motion parameters are encoded as combinations of 2-D translation, 2-D rotation, and scaling. There are many applications for contour image sequence compression. The cartoon image sequence (a sequence of line drawing sketches) and the high-frame-rate videophone for sign language transmission are good examples. Experiments show that our method encodes the contour image sequence at a very high compression ratio without losing intelligibility.

hybrid analog-digital coding has been used for several communication scenarios, such as joint source-channel coding of Gaussian sources over Gaussian channels and relay communication over Gaussian networks. In this paper, a generalized hybrid coding technique is proposed for communication over discrete memoryless and Gaussian systems, and its utility is demonstrated via three examples-lossy joint source-channel coding over multiple access channels, channel coding over two-way relay channels, and channel coding over diamond networks. The corresponding coding schemes recover and extend several existing results in the literature.

Brain-computer interface method based on light-flashing and motion hybrid coding

The human best response frequency band for steady-state visual evoked potential stimulus is limited. This results in a reduced number of encoded targets. To circumvent this, we proposed a brain-computer interface (BCI) method based on light-flashing and motion hybrid coding. The hybrid paradigm pattern consisted of a circular light-flashing pattern and a motion pattern located in the inner ring of light-flashing pattern. The motion and light-flashing patterns had different frequencies. This study used five frequencies to encode nine targets. The motion frequency and the light-flashing frequency of the hybrid paradigm consisted of two frequencies in five frequencies. The experimental results showed that the hybrid paradigm could induce stable motion frequency, light-flashing frequency and its harmonic components. Moreover, the modulation between motion and light-flashing was weak. The average accuracy was 92.96% and the information transfer rate was 26.10 bits/min. The experimental results showed that the proposed method could be considered for practical BCI systems.

paper presents a method for color image compression coding by using correlation vectors combined with SPIHT Algorithm. In this method, the Green component of a color image is coded using SPIHT Algorithm, and the other two components are segmented into multi-subregions by quadtree partitioning according to the non-correlation degree of three color components. Based on the calculated correlation vectors between three components in the same subregion, the coding for the other two components becomes the coding of correlation vectors. Experiment results show that this method is of high coding and decoding rates, and with quite good signal to noise ratio, compression rate and visual quality.
