The dual stripmap imaging mode for airborne synthetic aperture radar(SAR)is derived from a circular-scanning radar system,which satisfies wide area of imaging scene and high resolution *** working principles,data processing scheme and system parameters design problems resulting from such a novel working mode are analyzed respectively in the *** point-target simulation and live data implementation results are given to show the validity of the proposed methodology.

In order to accurately extract the profile image of the ground moving targets(GMT) in the forward scatter radar(FSR),a forward scatter signal model of GMT is built based on the Fresnel-Kirchhoff diffraction formula,the multipath propagation model and the high order phase approximation *** classical shadow inverse synthetic aperture radar(SISAR) imaging algorithm is modified using the proposed signal *** the modified imaging algorithm,the impacts of ground reflection,non-linear variation of target Doppler frequency and the target motion direction on imaging accuracy are ***,non-linear and time-dependent parameters are used to compensate for the motion phase of the GMT forward scatter signal,and a novel estimation method of the height difference and median line height of the target profile is put forward under the multipath ***,both the accuracy of the proposed signal model and the effectiveness of the modified imaging algorithm are validated by the simulation results.

The imaging problem of spotlight SAR is converted to a parameter estimation problem of several monochromatic signals in additive white Gaussian noisy condition in this paper. Moreover, a spotlight SAR imaging algorithm based on RELAX is presented in detail. Traditional polar format algorithm and the presented method are applied to spotlight SAR imaging respectively, and the imaging results are compared. Simulation results show that the polar format algorithm doesn't give satisfactory imaging results, while the proposed method adapts the noisy environment better and obtains better results.

ISAR is a kind of radar for obtaining two dimensional high resolution image of moving target. In the past, ISAR techniques with LFM pulsed signal has been studied deeply. Now, because of the requirement of low-cost, low weight and low powered, LFMCW signal is used in ISAR. This paper has investigated the imaging method of LFMCW ISAR. The problem of ISAR image formation using LFMCW ISAR has been studied in detail. Analyzing indicates that the echoes exist two dimensional coupling. Using the traditional RDA used in LFM pulsed ISAR for these data from LFMCW ISAR will produce position distortion. In order to correct this distortion, a new imaging method--azimuth interpolation RDA is presented. Simulation shows that the presented method is very effective.

In the past decades, the imaging method for ISAR (Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar) with LFM (Linear Frequency Modulation) pulsed signal has been studied extensively. Now, owing to the requirement of low-cost, low weight and low powered, linear frequency modulation continuous wave (LFMCW) signal is used in ISAR. But the imaging algorithm for LFMCW ISAR is still the Range-Doppler algorithm (RDA) which is very effective for pulsed ISAR. Simulations showed that applying RDA to LFMCW ISAR will let to some distortion. In order to correct this distortion, a novel imaging method-azimuth interpolation RDA (AIRDA) -is presented.

One of the most difficult challenges in medical imaging is the accurate segmentation of mineralized tissues. This process is complicated when studying developmental or regenerative processes due to the changes in mineral density that these tissues undergo over time. To address these limitations an algorithm was developed to enable the use of computed tomography (CT) to study tissues of varying and heterogeneous mineralization. To examine and validate this algorithm a study was performed on the development of murine cranial sutures. C57Bl/6J mice ranging in age from 6 to 25 days were imaged using micro-CT (mu CT). The algorithm was developed to segment the bones of both the posterior frontal (PF) and coronal (COR) sutures. For the curved COR suture, an addition to the algorithm was developed to reconstruct images that were perpendicular to the suture about all three axes. The algorithm showed excellent linear correlation (R (2) > 0.96) with serial histomorphometry and nearly a 1:1 relationship between all measures. The algorithm was validated with serial histology. The algorithm showed that the PF suture fused between days 12 and 20 but then showed a significant increase in bone volume after day 20. The algorithm developed provides an accurate method to segment the irregular sutures of the mouse calvaria.

Chirp scaling algorithm for GEO SAR based on fourth-order range equation

For a synthetic aperture radar (SAR) onboard a geosynchronous-earth-orbit (GEO) satellite, the track can be curvilinear. Thus, the validity of imaging algorithms based on the conventional hyperbolic range equation (CHRE) becomes questionable. A fourth-order range equation is adopted to improve the accuracy in the approximation of the range history for GEO SAR and a modified chirp scaling algorithm (CSA) is proposed. Simulation results show that the presented algorithm has better performance than the CHRE-based CSA in the GEO case, implying good application prospects.

The new generation spaceborne SAR systems will be with high resolution and several work modes. In this paper, a unified imaging algorithm for multimode spaceborne SAR with the same chirp scaling processing core module was presented. Different pre- and post-processing steps were designed for stripmap, scan and spotlight work mode of spaceborne SAR. The same core module will make transplant and computation optimize of imaging processing platform more convenient. This unified imaging algorithm was validated through stripmap and scan mode raw data processing and point target simulation of spotlight mode.

A multi-mode space-borne Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) signal processor is presented in this paper. The processor is one of the core modules of the Space-borne Radar Advance Simulator (SBRAS). It can support the signal processing of strip-map mode, spotlight mode, sliding spotlight mode, ScanSAR mode, and Terrain Observation by Progressive Scans (TOPS) mode. The signals of the modes are analyzed first, and the requirements in the design of the processor are discussed. Then the structure of the processor is described. At last, two application examples are provided and the conclusion follows.

A new approach to the gamma-ray densitometry tomography(GDT) technique was proposed for measurement of gas-solid flow in cyclone, where the time average concentration field can be simplified to continuous function and symmetry system, based on only one bunch of through the regional center's ray and another distance the center d position's ray data, through the measurement of body. So it realized faster data acquisition and image recongtruction, and possessed both the continuous function model's high gradient of radial concentration distribution and highly accuracy. Due to the collected data were severely diminished, the method sharply reduced the cost of image scans mobile system. The numerical simulation proved the accuracy of that algorithm base on gamma-ray computed tomography method for gas-solid time average concentration field in cyclone.
