A novel emergency evacuation route optimization model in flood disasters using hydrodynamic model and intelligent algorithm

In recent years, flood disasters have intensified due to frequent extreme rainfall events worldwide. Emergency evacuation is regard as the most important response action for reducing the loss of human life in floods. However, there are still few studies on the optimal selection of emergency evacuation routes for flood disasters. This study aims to propose a novel emergency evacuation route optimization model for flood disasters using hydrodynamic model and intelligent algorithms. The hydrodynamic model is applied to simulate the flood evolution and then determine the transfer village and resettlement village, while intelligent algorithms are used to solve emergency evacuation routes between them. First, the TELEMAC-2D couples a novel fine-scale roughness assignment method are selected as the hydrodynamic model for flood evolution simulation, determining more accurate transfer and resettlement villages. Second, the Mask-RCNN image segmentation technique and Thiessen polygons are introduced to solve the missing population data in those villages, which is an important link to determine the emergency evacuation routes. Thirdly, a novel emergency evacuation route optimization model is developed combining intelligent algorithms like ant colony algorithm considering search radius, genetic algorithm coupling indexed matrix and road congestion, greatly improving the selection efficiency of flood emergency evacuation routes between transfer and resettlement villages. The research results are applicable to the emergency evacuation before and during floods, providing advance warning and process evacuation guidance.

Single-objective and multi-objective optimization of the thermally integrated-pumped thermal energy storage system based on the novel optimization method coupling the orthogonal design and intelligent algorithm

The thermally integrated-pumped thermal energy storage system provides a promising solution to low-grade thermal energy utilization and efficient energy storage. In order to improve the system performance, a novel optimization method coupling the orthogonal design and intelligent algorithm is constructed. Performance optimization is conducted in two steps. The first-step optimization is performed by the orthogonal design. The influence law and contribution rates of the operation parameters, as well as the orthogonal optimal operation conditions under different objective preferences and comprehensive performance are obtained. The parameter contribution rate obtained by the orthogonal design is taken as the selection principle of the parameters for further optimization. The second-step optimization is conducted by the intelligent algorithm. The optimal operation conditions of the intelligent algorithm under different objective preferences and comprehensive performance are determined. The results indicated that the optimal round-trip efficiency, exergy efficiency and levelized cost of storage under different objective preferences obtained by the novel coupled optimization method are 89.93 %, 36.9 % and 0.3 $/kWh, respectively. The optimal round-trip efficiency, exergy efficiency and levelized cost of storage under comprehensive performance are 71.92 %, 29.01 % and 0.36 $/kWh, respectively. The novel coupled optimization method provides an effective solution to improve system performance.

A novel approach for universal segments typesetting of curved shield tunnel using an intelligent algorithm

Selection of segment assembly points for a curved shield tunnel is often based on the experiences gained from previous projects. This paper proposes a novel approach for the universal segments typesetting using an intelligent algorithm. It considers the curve fitting principle of the universal segment, the segment ring width and wedge amount, the radius of tunnel, the length and curvature radius of the designed tunnel route etc. A calculation method of the three-dimensional deviation between the formed tunnel axis and the designed is proposed. The intelligence algorithm based on particle swarm optimization (PSO) is used to select the optimal solution for the minimum deviation value. The algorithm is validated through a curved shield tunnel project in Xuzhou, China, which plays a role in both the optimization of segment ring point selection and axial deviation correction in shield tunnels. It is shown that, using the algorithm, the deviation value is limited within 85 mm compared to 345 mm under construction. The average deviation value in the 90 m left turn curved section of the project is reduced by 135 mm. The average of the three selected curves reduces their respective average deviations by 79.8 mm. Moreover, in the last curved tunnel section, the deviation is reduced from 377.83 mm in the first ring to 79.75 mm in the end ring.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is an emerging technical discipline that simulates, expands and expands human intelligence. Use of intelligent algorithm recommendation for college students healthy social mentality in China

The objective of this research was to measure the structural relationships between intelligent algorithm recommendations, data collection, student-level engagement, feedback loop and healthy social mentality. The respondents of the current study were college students in China. In this method, primary data was collected from the respondents using a self-administered questionnaire and 1752 responses were considered to analyze the data. A partial least square-structural equation model (PLS-SEM) was used to measure the findings. The study found that data collection does not affect the healthy social mentality of the students. Furthermore, it was discovered that there were significant correlations between intelligent algorithm recommendations, data collection, student-level engagement and feedback loop. The study also found the significant impact of intelligent algorithm recommendations on data collection, feedback loop and healthy social mentality of the students. Besides, student engagement level is confirmed as a significant mediator between data collection, feedback loop and healthy social mentality of students. The research contributes a novel framework to the knowledge which addresses gaps in the previous studies. The discussion of intelligent algorithm recommendations for students' healthy social mentality in this research is novel. This research highlights the importance of intelligent algorithm recommendations for improving the healthy social mentality of college students. It is useful to deal with data management related to the students, improving student engagement and addressing feedback loops that are critical for students' healthy social mentality.

The electrical fire monitoring system will automatically alarm to tell people where the residual current is abnormal before the fire occurs, which greatly reduces the occurrence of fire. Use data mining technology to find useful data from a large amount of data recorded by the electrical fire monitoring system, so as to reduce the occurrence of electrical fires. The purpose of this paper is to study the electrical fire monitoring system with different intelligent algorithms, and obtain the residual current data of different materials and materials with different cross-sectional areas in each time period. And then the electrical fire monitoring system feeds back whether the identification is successful or not through data mining technology. Experiments showed that the recognition rates of electrical fire monitoring systems with different cross-sections of the same material are roughly the same, and the recognition rates of electrical fire monitoring systems with the same cross-section of different materials are also roughly the same, and their recognition rates are roughly above 90%. The electrical fire monitoring system deserves further research to find a system with a higher recognition rate.

A data-driven intelligent learning algorithm for simultaneous prediction of aerodynamic heat and thermo-physical property parameters

It is of great importance and challenging to simultaneously determine time-varying aerodynamic heat and temperature-dependent thermo-physical property parameters with high accuracy, for the optimization of thermal protection systems of hypersonic vehicles. However, it is difficult to directly measure these parameters under high temperature conditions. It is an effective way to determine thermo-physical property parameters and aerodynamic heat by solving inverse problems, based on measurable or easily measured transient temperatures. However, the prediction error of these parameters may be too large, if the measurement error is large, due to the thermal inertia. To deal with this issue, an intelligent algorithm is proposed to simultaneously predict the aerodynamic heat and thermo-physical property parameters for the thermal protection systems of hypersonic vehicles, based on the temperature measurement information. It combines a genetic algorithm and a machine learning algorithm, and the genetic algorithm is employed to update the relevant parameters in the neural network. By training the neural network, the relationship among the predicted parameters and transient temperatures could be established. Thereafter, the aerodynamic heat subjected to the outer surface of the aircraft and the temperature-dependent non-linear thermo-physical property parameters could be predicted. Examples are given to verify the present algorithm. The results show that this work provides an accurate and efficient method for simultaneously determining the aerodynamic heat and thermo-physical property parameters for the thermal protection system of a hypersonic vehicle. The prediction errors of aerodynamic heat and thermo-physical property parameters are much smaller than the measurement errors, when there are relatively large measurement errors in the input data.

Simple and friendly operation interface, intelligent calculation, high performance control and driving circuit, and precision and reliable plant are the necessary conditions for intelligent robot design. In this paper, an intelligent algorithm is proposed for the piano robot control with an interactive program and an automatic control code generator. The interactive program of man-machine interface makes the musical score input is simple and friendly as the piano keyboard playing. This interactive program can identify the musical beat and note automatically while the user plays the keyboard on PC monitor. This program can identify the musical beat and note automatically while the user plays the keyboard on PC monitor and then the musical score is built. The control code generator, an intelligent algorithm, will convert the musical score to generate a series of optimum positions commands accordingly for the hands and fingers of the piano robot to play a piano. The optimum positions commands are programmed with crashing protection and minimum movement for the hands and fingers to anthropomorphize the robot. Via the algorithm operation, the music control codes are generated automatically to replace the situation of manual coding and give the ability of intelligent thinking for the piano robot.

A new intelligent orthogonal optimization algorithm for robust design is proposed in order to improve accuracy and efficiency. The next searching direction and searching range of variables are determined by variance ratio after the robust optimization model is firstly calculated by design parameters on orthogonal array. New orthogonal array for further optimization is formed intelligently by analysis of variance ratio. The intelligent orthogonal optimization is performed until error value of each variable is equal to zero or is equivalent, which is the optimal robust solution. Correspondingly, the variable range corresponding to the minimum variance ratio in the orthogonal array in preceding step is the tolerance of the optimal robust solution, which means that there is no need for special tolerance design. This paper takes a cam profile as an example to perform robust design. The simulation results prove that the new intelligent algorithm for robust design has many advantages, such as less calculation time, higher speed, no exiting of prematurity of local circulation and slow convergence of global search.
