Optimal Allocation of Urban Water Resources Based on Multi-Objective Nutcracker optimization algorithm

The imbalance between water supply and demand (WSD) has been growing noticeable as a result of the economy's fast expansion which can be effectively alleviated using optimal allocation of water resources. An urban water resources allocation (WRA) model based on the innovative Multi-Objective Nutcracker optimization algorithm (MONOA) is proposed in this study. Taking into account economic, social and ecological benefits, a comprehensive multi-objective optimization (MOO) model is established. By introducing the opposite learning strategy, non-dominated sorting approach and crowding distance mechanism to a recently reported intelligent optimization algorithm called the Nutcracker optimization algorithm (NOA), the novel nature-inspired metaheuristic algorithm MONOA is proposed to solve the multi-objective optimization model. The MONOA is evaluated on ten benchmark test functions, and it exhibits superior distribution and convergence by comparing with some highly cited algorithms. The proposed model is applied to Handan, China, in order to obtain a reasonable water allocation scheme in the planning year. The simulation results reveal that the economic benefit is in the range CNY [1.36, 1.44] x 1011, water shortage is in the range [0.66, 0.98] x 108 m3 and COD emission is in the range [3.70, 3.91] x 104 t in all the obtained Pareto solutions. The water resources management departments might create customized water allocation plans by balancing different goals and taking preferences into account. Moreover, the proposed method is a general approach that can be applied to many other cities. Hence, it is of great significance to the sustainable development and utilization of urban water resources.

Population-based discrete state transition algorithm with decomposition and knowledge guidance applied to electrolytic cell maintenance decision

With continuous scale expansion and higher safety requirements in modern aluminum electrolysis, it is more and more necessary to realize an intelligent decision-making for shutting-down and running of aluminum reduction cells (SRARC). However, this realization needs to solve a special single-objective constrained integer optimization problem (SCIOP), where the key challenge is a high requirement for the constraint-handling ability. In this paper, based on a high-scalability intelligent optimization algorithm called discrete state transition algorithm (DSTA), a population-based DSTA with decomposition and knowledge guidance (PDSTA/D-S) is proposed. This PDSTA/D-S improves the constraint-handling ability of DSTA from three aspects. Firstly, a hybrid framework combining DSTA with genetic algorithm is proposed. Secondly, a decomposition-based multi-objective optimization for constrained problems with uniformly-angled weighted sum vector is proposed. Thirdly, the manual decision-making is transferred to a knowledge-based transformation operator of DSTA. Therefore, a high-level performance of decision-making for SRARC can be obtained. The related experiments on a SRARC which is built from the practical production have demonstrated that the proposed PDSTA/D-S not only makes an effective improvement of DSTA from three aspects, but also has a more advanced performance compared with other existing high-performance intelligent optimization algorithms.(c) 2023 Published by Elsevier B.V.

Study of Obstacle-Crossing and Pitch Control Characteristic of a Novel Jumping Robot

In this study, we demonstrated a novel jumping robot that has the ability of accurate obstacle-crossing jumping and aerial pitch control. The novel robot can quickly leap high into the air with a powerful water jet thruster. The robot was designed to overcome multiple general obstacles via accurate jumping. Then a modified whale optimization algorithm (MWOA) was proposed to determine an optimized jumping trajectory according to the form of obstacles. By comparing with classical intelligent optimization algorithms, the MWOA revealed superiority in convergence rate and precision. Besides, the dynamics model of aerial pitch control was built and its effect was verified by the pitch control experiment. Lastly, the robot's obstacle-crossing experiments were performed and the results validated the robot's good ability of obstacle-crossing and aerial body righting. We believe the optimization of trajectory and the pitch control are of great help for the jumping robot's complex jumping and obstacle-crossing performance.

A new imperialist competitive algorithm with spiral rising mechanism for solving path optimization problems

intelligent optimization algorithms have now become important means for solving global optimization problems. The imperialist competitive algorithm (ICA) is a nature-inspired meta-heuristic algorithm that imitates social behavior. ICA has been widely used in optimization problems, however, ICA tends to fall into a local optimal solution because of its fast convergence speed, which may lead to premature convergence when solving optimization problems. To solve these problems, a new improved ICA algorithm is proposed. Based on the original ICA algorithm, the theory of spiral rising is introduced to enlarge the search space and enhance the global search ability of the algorithm based on ensuring the necessary speed of convergence. In this paper, the improved optimization algorithm is applied to 19 classical benchmark functions, and the improved ICA is applied to the robot path optimization problems to solve the optimal path. The improved ICA algorithm improves the optimization ability and algorithm stability.

Recent Development and Perspectives of optimization Design Methods for Piezoelectric Ultrasonic Transducers

A piezoelectric ultrasonic transducer (PUT) is widely used in nondestructive testing, medical imaging, and particle manipulation, etc., and the performance of the PUT determines its functional performance and effectiveness in these applications. The optimization design method of a PUT is very important for the fabrication of a high-performance PUT. In this paper, traditional and efficient optimization design methods for a PUT are presented. The traditional optimization design methods are mainly based on an analytical model, an equivalent circuit model, or a finite element model and the design parameters are adjusted by a trial-and-error method, which relies on the experience of experts and has a relatively low efficiency. Recently, by combining intelligent optimization algorithms, efficient optimization design methods for a PUT have been developed based on a traditional model or a data-driven model, which can effectively improve the design efficiency of a PUT and reduce its development cycle and cost. The advantages and disadvantages of the presented methods are compared and discussed. Finally, the optimization design methods for PUT are concluded, and their future perspectives are discussed.

Application of Speech Recognition Technology Based on Multimodal Information in Human-Computer Interaction

Multimodal human-computer interaction is an important trend in the development of human-computer interaction field. In order to accelerate the technological change of human-computer interaction system, the study firstly fuses Connectionist Temporal Classification algorithm and attention mechanism to design a speech recognition architecture, and then further optimizes the end-to-end architecture of speech recognition by using the improved artificial swarming algorithm, to obtain a speech recognition model suitable for multimodal human-computer interaction system. One of them, Connectionist Temporal Classification, is a machine learning algorithm that deals with sequence-to-sequence problems;and the Attention Mechanism allows the model to process the input data in such a way that it can focus its attention on the relevant parts. The experimental results show that, the hypervolume of the improved swarm algorithm converges to 0.861, which is 0.099 and 0.059 compared to the ant colony and differential evolution algorithms, while the traditional swarm algorithm takes the value of 0.676;the inverse generation distance of the improved swarm algorithm converges to 0.194, while that of the traditional swarm, ant colony, and differential evolution algorithms converge to 0.263, 0.342, and 0.246, respectively. Hypervolume and Inverse Generation Distance Measures the diversity and convergence of the solution set. The speech recognition model takes higher values than the other speech recognition models in the evaluation metrics of accuracy, precision, and recall, and the lowest values of the error rate at the character, word, and sentence levels are respectively 0.037, 0.036 and 0.035, ensuring higher recognition accuracy while weighing the real-time rate. Recognition of partial discharge in GIS based on image feature fusion

Partial discharge (PD) is a significant electrical fault in gas-insulated switchgear (GIS), with various types posing different risks to insulation. Accurate identification of PD types is essential for enhancing GIS management and ensuring the reliability of electrical grids. This study proposes a novel approach for PD identification in GIS integrating completed local binary pattern (CLBP) feature extraction, feature engineering, and an optimized support vector machine (SVM). PD faults were simulated in GIS and phase-resolved pulse sequence (PRPS) data for four different forms of PD were gathered. CLBP was used to extract image features, and then the support vector machine recursive feature elimination (SVM-RFE) algorithm was used to evaluate feature importance. Then, linear discriminant analysis (LDA) was used to fuse the selected features and reduce redundancy. The fused features were classified using a bald eagle search algorithm combined with differential evolution (IBES)-optimized SVM, achieving a recognition accuracy of 99.38%. The results indicate that the proposed method effectively distinguishes between different PD PRPS patterns in GIS.

Colorimetric sensor array based on metal porphyrin Dye-Modified mesoporous silica nanospheres for quantitative detection of aflatoxin B1 in wheat

This study developed a novel colorimetric sensor array (CSA) based on mesoporous silica nanospheres (MSNs) for the quantitative detection of aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) in wheat. First, 12 kinds of nano-composite color-sensitive materials (Nano-CSMs) were prepared based on MSNs combined with metal porphyrin dyes, and their colorsensitive materials (CSMs) were modified. The volatile gas information of wheat samples with different degrees of mold was collected using two different sensor arrays, and the characteristic maps were visualized. Next, the genetic algorithm (GA) and particle swarm optimization (PSO) were used to screen the optimal characteristic components, and a support vector regression (SVR) model was established to achieve rapid quantitative detection of AFB1. The optimization results show that the SVR model based on Nano-CSA performed best, with a correlation coefficient (Rp) of 0.9754. The results show that the colorimetric sensor array modified by MSNSs has higher sensitivity and efficiency in the detection of AFB1 in wheat.

Corn stalks are a kind of common organic fertilizer and feed material in agriculture in China,as well as an important source of modern biomass energy and new *** is an important component in corn stalks,and it is very important to determine its content in corn *** this paper,the feasibility of near-infrared spectroscopy(NIRS)combined with chemometrics for rapid detection of hemicellulose content in corn stalks was *** order to improve the accuracy of NIRS detection,a new intelligent optimization algorithm,dung beetle optimizer(DBO),was applied to select characteristic wavelengths of *** modeling performance was compared with that based on characteristic wavelength selection using genetic algorithm(GA)and binary particle swarm optimization(BPSO),and it was found that the characteristic wavelength selection performance of DBO was excellent,and the regression accuracy of hemicellulose quantitative detection model established by its preferred characteristic wavelengths was better than the above two intelligent optimization algorithms.

First of all, the multi-dimensional wisdom teaching evaluation system is constructed by analyzing the influencing factors of teaching quality evaluation;then, the parameters of the depth limit learning machine are optimized by the bird foraging search algorithm, and the multi-dimensional wisdom teaching evaluation model is constructed;finally, the validity and stability of the proposed method are verified by the analysis of simulation ***: The results show that the proposed method improves the accuracy of the evaluation ***: Solves the problem of low evaluation accuracy and incomplete system of teaching quality evaluation methods.
