FATE: flexible attribute-based traceable encrypted data sharing scheme using smart contracts in wireless medical sensor networks

Given the adaptability and effectiveness of the smart health sector, it has gained much momentum in the last few years, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the security and privacy of data sent through a public communication channel are gravely threatened by adopting cloud services for data sharing. The security and privacy of the data are also in jeopardy, as the owners lose full ownership of the material once it is uploaded to the cloud. In recent years, ciphertext policy attribute-based encryption (CP-ABE) has shown great potential as a privacy-preserving encryption mechanism. In this paper, a decentralized method of large-scale data storage has been introduced using the interplanetary file system (IPFS), thereby eliminating the issue of centralized storage and frequent data unavailability. A reliable third-party hospital node in a secure environment is adopted in the proposed model to guarantee data integrity and to reduce the load on the resource-constrained devices of the user. Simulation using the Charm-Crypto framework and Pairing-Based Cryptography library using the SS512 curve proves its performance and efficiency. The proposed scheme's encryption time is constant at 46.96 ms regardless of the size of the attribute set, the key generation time is reduced by 79.09%, and the storage overhead is reduced by 71.3% as compared to the existing schemes.

Distributed DevOps is a software development methodology that aims to integrate the work of development and operations teams without being bound by geographical constraints. This methodology excels in enhancing collaboration and speeding software development. However, it does suffer from a lack of security, transparency, and traceability, which can result in project delays, a lack of trust between stakeholders, and even project failure. This paper addresses these issues of Distributed DevOps by implementing Blockchain technology. In this paper, we propose a novel framework that leverages blockchain technology to address the challenges faced by Distributed DevOps. Through performance analysis, we demonstrate the effectiveness of our framework in a real-world scenario, highlighting its ability to improve transparency, traceability, and the security of the DevOps pipeline. Our findings underscore the potential of blockchain-empowered solutions in revolutionizing DevOps practices. Furthermore, this research offers a practical framework for organizations seeking to optimize their development processes by integrating blockchain technology.

The conventional method of selling and purchasing land has several drawbacks because it requires a lot of time, a lengthy verification procedure, and prolonged final processing. Various blockchain-based solutions have been implemented to tackle the problems of the existing land record. The government of India is currently developing its blockchain-based network to store and verify land records. The solutions cannot handle large amounts of hard-copy documents and rely on a single-tier block network, which affects integrity and decentralization. In this paper, we address the existing problem by introducing a blockchain network at the ground level for monitored lands. Each country will have an associated device as part of the blockchain network to carry out the verification process, thereby distributing the control and workload across two tiers. The devices will interact using the concept of fog computing over the decentralized blockchain network, forming a peer-to-peer network. The proposed solution is compared with an existing solution in terms of cost, computational time complexity, and overall computation cost.

Toward 6G Networks: Architecture and Strategy for Information Security Transmission Based on Multi-Source Heterogeneous Data

In the context of 6G networks, efficient information transmission at high speeds with large data volumes to the cloud poses technical challenges, particularly related to data type heterogeneity and information security. This is especially critical when dealing with extensive data from diverse users, leading to issues in data utilization efficiency and security. To tackle these challenges, an innovative approach has been developed, employing the following data processing methods: (1) Users utilize the Mobile Edge Computing server to train the initial model, sign and upload it to the Blockchain. Due to constraints in data block size, off-chain storage is implemented using interplanetary file system. Additionally, differential privacy technology safeguards user privacy during this process;(2) Addressing the vast multi-source heterogeneous data in the 6G network, the Federated Transfer Learning mode is employed. This involves combining cross-user characteristics in different business formats after the data processing center acquires user data. Blockchain replaces the centralized aggregator in the federated learning system, enhancing the security of data transmission. By utilizing actual datasets from sources such as sandstorm, typhoon, and flood data, simulation results demonstrate that the proposed model significantly enhances data utilization efficiency, improves the security of data transmission, predicts disasters, and minimizes disaster losses.

Tackling Data Mining Risks: A Tripartite Covert Channel Merging Blockchain and IPFS

Blockchain-based covert communication enables undetectable data transmission by constructing covert channels in blockchain networks. However, extant approaches require transactions carrying secret data to be permanently preserved in the public ledger, which cannot resist data mining. Besides, these solutions cost up to $48,169 to transmit 1-MegaByte (MB) data. In this paper, we introduce a Tripartite Covert Communication Model (TCCM), which amalgamates blockchain and the Inter Planetary file system (IPFS) to facilitate the transfer of MB-level files while simultaneously circumventing data mining. TCCM comprises an IPFS covert channel, a ledger-layer covert channel, and a network-layer covert channel. The IPFS covert channel transmits the initial secret data. The ledger-layer covert channel embeds a timestamp into the blockchain transaction, which governs the construction time of the network-layer covert channel. The network-layer covert channel conveys the content identifier of the secret data utilizing Bitcoin's inventory message. We further present a TCCM instantiation and formally prove its unobservability. We instant TCCM to evaluate its performance on the Bitcoin mainnet. We also discuss its scalability, real-world use cases, and ethical considerations. Experimental outcomes demonstrate that the proposed instantiation is unobservable and able to transmit 100-MB files at a cost of $1.47.

The integration of renewable energy sources is essential for addressing climate change and achieving sustainable energy systems. Traditional centralized methods for managing renewable energy data and trading present challenges in transparency, security, and efficiency. This paper explores the application of blockchain technology to address these challenges by providing a decentralized, secure, and transparent framework for renewable energy transactions. Specifically, we examine the use of smart contracts, RSA-encrypted Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), and the interplanetary file system (IPFS) within blockchain-based renewable energy trading platforms. The study includes a comparative analysis of transaction fees across Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible platforms to determine the most cost-efficient options for implementing these systems. Our findings suggest that the integration of these technologies can enhance the management and trading of renewable energy, ensuring secure and efficient operations.

This paper explores the integration of blockchain technology, smart contracts, encrypted Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), and the interplanetary file system (IPFS) to enhance the management of renewable energy transactions. Leveraging the decentralized, immutable, and transparent nature of blockchain, we aim to address the challenges of data security, accessibility, and integrity in renewable energy trading. Our framework employs various encryption algorithms-RSA, RC4, DES, ChaCha20, Blowfish, and AES-to secure energy transaction records, ensuring that only authorized users can access them. The system's performance was evaluated across four EVM-compatible blockchain platforms: Binance Smart Chain, Polygon, Fantom, and Celo. Key functions such as recording energy data, creating and transferring encrypted NFTs were assessed to provide insights into operational speed, resource efficiency, and overall reliability. Additionally, transaction costs were analyzed to identify potential cost savings and improve efficiency. Our study highlights the potential of these integrated technologies to create a secure and practical system for managing renewable energy transactions.

In recent days, blockchain enabled secure, transparent and immutable transactions through decentralized linked blocks which ensured data integrity by making ideal for secure and reliable digital systems. Traditional approaches for securing blockchain-based supply chains for anomaly detection had faced several challenges which include more false positive rates, latency and difficulty in integrating diverse systems. Therefore, this research proposes Graph Neural Networks (GNN) for securing blockchain-based supply chains for anomaly detection. Initially, data is collected from Smart Farming Data 2024 dataset and preprocessed by using data cleaning and label encoding which handles missing values, removes outliers and convert categorical data into numerical data. After that, the preprocessed data is stored in interplanetary file system (IPFS) blockchain where authorized parties access and share data efficiently for secure storage which ensures integrity of data by enabling reliable anomaly detection through proposed GNN. Finally, the anomalies are detected by using proposed GNN which leverages structural relationships within supply chain data. The proposed GNN achieved better results in terms of Precision (0.98), Recall (0.99) and F1-Score (0.96) when compared with existing Density-Based Spatial Clustering of Applications with Noise (DBSCAN). © 2025 IEEE.

Role-based federated learning exploiting IPFS for privacy enhancement in IoT environment

As the IoT expands exponentially, the amount of data generated by individuals has increased. To process big data efficiently, machine learning (especially deep learning) has emerged. However, existing machine learning has the disadvantage of being vulnerable to data privacy because it sends raw data to the center. Therefore, federated learning (FL) was introduced to address this privacy problem, in which only learning parameters are sent to the center after training the user's own local model with their own raw data. However, FL remains vulnerable to various attacks. In this paper, we propose an efficient and safe FL framework using the interplanetary file system (IPFS) that minimizes the effect of data poisoning attacks on FL. In this system, the roles of nodes are divided into three: leader node, A-node (Aggregation-node), and T-node (Training-node). In this way, the A-node and T-node cannot manipulate the learning information, allowing the sharing of information and data safely through IPFS while protecting raw data with a similarity-based data shuffling scheme used by the A-node. Moreover, nodes with high accuracy receive more incentives and learning motivation, enhancing the overall efficiency of the network. Finally, the efficiency of the system is verified through related simulations.

Accessing and managing Alzheimer patient data provided by the patients themselves poses a challenge to both the research and healthcare community as it is necessary to protect the privacy of the patient. In this paper, we are proposing a decentralized, secure storage and access control system, based on smart contracts and interplanetary file system (IPFS), that makes use of a blockchain based architecture. Access permissions are granted through the use of smart contracts ensuring that sensitive information is only accessed by approved parties. The patient’s data is kept off-chain using IPFS enhancing the efficiency and integrity of the data management. Additionally, there is an integrated model of machine learning, namely XGBoost, which is used to model and forecast the progression of Alzheimer disease with an aim of providing tailored medical insights. This technique is applied in providing enhanced security of the data and more advanced analytic insight into Alzheimer care.
