In this paper, we put forward a computationally efficient algorithm to estimate the frequency and complex amplitude of a real sinusoidal signal in additive Gaussian noise. The novel method extends an iterative frequency estimator for single complex exponentials that is based on interpolation on Fourier coefficients to the real case by incorporating an iterative leakage subtraction strategy. Simulation results are presented to verify that the proposed algorithm can obtain more accurate estimation than both time and frequency domain parameter estimators in the literature, and the estimation variance of the method sits on the Cramer-Rao lower bound with only a few iterations required.

Channel estimation is a key technology in wireless communication field, and estimation method based on pilot is one of the most common methods. To improve the performance of Channel estimation in OFDM system, different estimation algorithms are studied and an improved interpolation algorithm is proposed. The simulation results show that the improved interpolation algorithm can effective against spectrum leakage and has much lower BER.

Underwater acoustic communications are required for controlling and networking a variety of underwater or sea surface objects. Due to the unique characteristics of the underwater acoustic channel, e. g., complicated multipath propagation, selective frequency fading, extreme Doppler effect and heavy ambient noise, FH-MFSK techniques play a vital role in robust underwater acoustic communication, especially in shallow water. However, based on detecting the frequency of the receiving signals, the demodulation scheme for FH-MFSK may be sensitive to the frequency shifting caused by underwater Doppler shifts. This paper focuses on how to design the frequency demodulation scheme and to improve the performance of underwater FH-MFSK acoustic communication system. By using an original Double-Line interpolation algorithm with Hanning window, we propose a demodulation scheme to enhance the tolerance of the Doppler shift and improve the detection rate. Simulations and demodulation performance were tested. Experimental results show a promising future for FH-MFSK demodulation in underwater acoustic communication system.

This paper analyses the process of obtaining real color image based on a single CCD/CMOS sensor. Bayer CFA interpolation algorithm and White Balance algorithm are presented. The proposed interpolation algorithm which can obtain better color image and is easier to implement by hardware is provided. In order to cancel chromatic aberration, one White Balance algorithm which aims at sequential image is presented and process of FPGA design is given. Experimental results show that the design works normally. The color of corrected picture is vivid compared to the real world.

This work is part of a many years project 'full life cycle automation of computer animation generation'. Automatic animation generation requires automatic plot planning. Among various animation planning tasks, it is crucial to plan the moving traces of avatars. The last author of this paper has implemented the animation generation software "Swan" which includes a path planning module. However, that module generates only a 2D plan path. In this paper, we introduce a recent work of 3D path planning that finds the best 3D path given a 3D environment. Considering the possibility that inadequate 3D environments may request the avatars to undertake special posture while traversing the environment, we combine path planning with posture planning in automatic 3D traverse. The result can be shown in form of animation supported by motion graph techniques. Other contributions of this paper include: development a 2D mathematical model for 3D real environment and an algorithm transforming the latter to the former;a new principle of constraint based avatar sensitive path determination;design a calculus for calculating constraint oriented cost calculation based on spatial movement complexity of motion graph clips.

Along with the wide usage of realizing Bayer color interpolation algorithm through FPGA, better performance, real-time processing, and less resource consumption have become the pursuits for the users. In order to realize the function of high speed and high quality processing of the Bayer image restoration with less resource consumption, the color reconstruction is designed and optimized from the interpolation algorithm and the FPGA realization in this article. Then the hardware realization is finished with FPGA development platform, and the function of real-time and high-fidelity image processing with less resource consumption is realized in the embedded image acquisition systems.

Digital cameras have become the most important imaging devices in all kinds of Hand-held devices. In these devices, the quality of image reconstruction is an important indicator of the overall quality of the end-user experience image, and the image resolution is a mainly parameter of Digital cameras. Usually, only incomplete color information of the scene is measured at each pixel location by the CCD sensor, so that the Digital camera will have a low production cost. A true color image can be outputted by estimating all unknown color components, and we named the estimation process "Demosaicing". A single chip image sensor is consisted of different color-pass filtering unit that is named CFA (Color Filter Array). Because there is only a kind of color sensor at the pixel position in CFA, the mosaic phenomenon of an entire image is serious. In order to remove the mosaic phenomenon, the unknown other two kinds of color information need to be reconstructed in each pixel. In the paper, our demosaicing algorithm is proposed to deliver high quality image based on CFA edge information. The algorithm is used to reconstruct a three-color image by analyzing local spatial gradient information of a CFA. The test results show that our algorithm is effectiveness for improving the phrase Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) and the quality of image reconstruction.

Super-Resolution (SR) Processing is a technique that produces a High - Resolution (HR) image from a range of Low - Resolution (LR) images. There are many methods for implementing the SR signal processing. In this paper, we introduce a specific transformation that were developed in the recent years called Curvelet Transform (CT), and then apply it in SR Processing to obtain a quality improvement of SR images. We discuss two separate algorithms using the Discrete Curvelet Transform (DCT) and then compare them based on the results of HR images. We find out that the first algorithm, named the iterative algorithm can produce better HR images than the second one, the interpolation algorithm. However, the iterative algorithm also take more computational cost than that of the interpolation algorithm. It is a reasonable trade-off between images quality and processing speed. We also made a comparison between our algorithms and previous works such as the Projection onto Convex Sets (POCS) and the Nearest Neighbourhood algorithms to show the quality improvement.

It is very difficult to achieve the ideal results for the traditional PID control as the uncertainty of the input valve opening control, and it is also difficult to establish the accurate mathematical models as the controlled process non-linear and time-delay. A kind of electric actuator is designed, which is based on 32-bit ARM embedded RISC microprocessor and the improved fuzzy interpolation algorithm. The results indicate that the key techniques about flexible switch, valve-limit position judgment, motor protection, precision positioning and analogue signal isolation can achieve good control. Compared with the traditional valve electric actuator, the accuracy and reliability of the control process have been improved with small size, high reliability, high precision, low-cost features.

In this paper, a novel approach of direction of arrival (DOA) estimation for large parabolic reflector antenna based on focal-field distributions is proposed. First through simulation, we get the focal field distribution with different incident direction. And then the data received by the array feed is restored by interpolation algorithm. Finally the direction of incoming plane wave can be identified by matching the restoration data with simulation data. Numerical simulation results demonstrate satisfactory performance of the approaches.
