Channel estimation is a key technology in wireless communication field, and estimation method based on pilot is one of the most common methods. To improve the performance of Channel estimation in OFDM system, different estimation algorithms are studied and an improved interpolation algorithm is proposed. This study aims to develop an algorithm for interpolating NURBS surfaces on machine tools with limited interpolation time. NURBS surfaces are usually applied to represent free-form surfaces because of the flexibility in modeling processes. However, the copious and complicated operations limit NURBS surfaces in machining applications. To interpolate NURBS surfaces in limited interpolation time, an interpolation algorithm with a new computation structure is developed in this paper. Comparing with the existing approaches, the proposed approach provides good interpolation results with little interpolation time for interpolating NURBS surfaces in actual machining processes.

An algebraic soft-decision decoder for Hermitian codes is presented. We apply Koetter and Vardy's soft-decision decoding framework, now well established for Reed-Solmon codes, to Hermitian codes. First we provide an algebraic foundation for soft-decision decoding. Then we present an interpolation algorithm to find the-polynomial that plays a key role in the decoding. With some simulation results, we compare performances of the algebraic soft-decision decoders for Hermitian codes and Reed-Solmon codes, favorable to the former.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to design and evaluate a novel formulation prediction system for formulation study of monolithic osmotic pump tablets (MOPTs). Methods: Ternary-component diagram was originally brought forward to evaluate MOPTs formulations. Optimal formulation regions were delimited in ternary-component diagrams. Water-insoluble drug gliclazide was chosen as a model drug for selecting most suitable suspending agent. With five model drugs, we obtained five ternary-component diagrams. By MATLAB (R) software, a triangular prism model was then established regarding doses as vertical coordinate and the five diagrams as cross-sections, with the formation of an optimal formulation channel in it, followed by the design of formulation prediction software (FPS 1.0). The practicality of the system was finally validated. Results: After entering the drug information, we immediately obtained the optimal formulation region for preparing MOPTs with interpolation algorithm. The dissolution test results of the four randomly selected formulations all met the evaluating conditions. Conclusions: Ternary-component diagram is useful for MOPTs formulation optimization. The predictive ability of the system is tentatively confirmed and the experiment efficiency is greatly improved. (c) 2010 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Intelligent transportation system (ITS) is recognized as an important means to solve traffic problems. The most crucial way to implement ITS is real time traffic control and dynamic traffic guidance, which are all based on the acquisition of traffic status timely and accurately. This paper puts forward a prototype system of IVICS (integration of vehicle infrastructure cooperation system), which completely changes traditional traffic information collection method. In IVICS, equipped vehicles can be regarded as moving sensors on road network, which can collect local traffic parameters distributedly and transmit to road-side station. This paper also proposes traffic status extraction method, by interpolation of incomplete trajectory data of equipped vehicles, we can reconstruct spacial-temporal trajectories to estimate traffic density, average speed and travel time of certain road segment. Simulations of NGSIM dataset show that even equipped rate is very low, such method can get precise estimation of traffic status, which demonstrates the effectiveness of the above algorithm.
