Image compression is a compression coding technology used in digital image. It is applied to reduce redundant information in image data, thus making unit storage and ring data transfer more efficient. interpolation algorithm is commonly used in image scaling for pixel processing, as to reduce the image distortion and blur. Considering the wavelet transform and wavelet transform coding ideas, a kind of wavelet transform and bilinear interpolation for image matching is presented. Combined with the SPIHT (Set Partitioning In Hierarchical Tree) coding scheme. Large number of experiments show that comparision with the original SPIHT algorithm, the new scheme has more prominent advantages in the peak signal to noise ratio, meansquare deviation and histogram. So this method can improve the effect of recovery image compression efficiently. With generality and flexibility, it is also suitable to process various formats and size of image.

Intelligent transportation system (ITS) is recognized as an important means to solve traffic problems. The most crucial way to implement ITS is real time traffic control and dynamic traffic guidance, which are all based on the acquisition of traffic status timely and accurately. This paper puts forward a prototype system of IVICS (integration of vehicle infrastructure cooperation system), which completely changes traditional traffic information collection method. In IVICS, equipped vehicles can be regarded as moving sensors on road network, which can collect local traffic parameters distributedly and transmit to road-side station. This paper also proposes traffic status extraction method, by interpolation of incomplete trajectory data of equipped vehicles, we can reconstruct spacial-temporal trajectories to estimate traffic density, average speed and travel time of certain road segment. Simulations of NGSIM dataset show that even equipped rate is very low, such method can get precise estimation of traffic status, which demonstrates the effectiveness of the above algorithm.

For the signal containing the inter-harmonics, if the sample number is not equal to integer times of the signal period, the spectral leakages will occur in harmonic analysis based on DFT and affect the measurement accuracy. To improve the accuracy, different from other correction methods in which the long-range leakages are reduced by windowing the signal, a new interpolation algorithm is presented to correct both the long-range leakage and the short-range leakage at one time. The simulation results and experiment results show the measurement accuracy of the presented method is very high. The new algorithm is suitable for the precise harmonic analysis.

In this paper, we propose a novel 3D mesh watermarking based on the human visual system and mesh curvature. We analyze the region's mean curvature and fluctuation of curvature, and then choose the appropriate regions with high visual masking degree, in order to embed the watermark by using the interpolation algorithm. The experimental results show that the watermark is capacious, invisible and robust against various attacks.

In order to extract a local and faint variation generated by a specific source from a physical value obtained by a remote-sensing satellite, we should focus on the difference between physical values at two points. We have developed a new data-restructuring algorithm based on this concept. This algorithm enables us to obtain a distribution of physical values at any interval and to calculate the difference between any two points regardless of the sensor-sampling interval. This paper presents this algorithm and how to implement it on a computer. Based on this data-restructuring algorithm, we have established a new data-processing method and analyzed the brightness-temperature data obtained by a microwave radiometer. As a result, we have successfully extracted the feature associated with a volcanic eruption. This feature cannot be extracted from brightness temperatures directly. This paper demonstrates this data-processing method by analyzing a volcanic eruption.

Three kinds of algorithms for the lattice Boltzmann equation of the BGK model in the implementation of the no-slip boundary condition on the wall are assessed by using the analytical formula for the slip velocity of the fully developed pressure-driven channel How. It is shown that the bounce-back algorithm results in the spatial accuracy of 1st order, except for the case when the wall is located at half way between the two grid lines. The interpolation scheme proposed by Yu et at. (Prog. Aerospace Sci. 2003;39:329-367) and the similar one by Bouzidi et al. (Phys. Fluids 2001 13(11):3452-3459) are of 2nd order, but the error increases quadratically with the relaxation time. The extrapolation scheme of Guo et al. (Phys. Fluids 2002;14(6):2007-2010) is also shown to be of 2nd order, and the error level increases linearly with the relaxation time, but it turns Out that this scheme is unstable for a certain range of parameter values. Numerical experiments with various parameter sets have been performed to obtain the stability diagram.
