Due to the high cost and physical limitations of the high precision image sensors, it is not easy to directly obtain the desired high resolution (HR) images from sensors in many cases. A new iterative super-resolution (SR) algorithm based on projection onto convex sets (POCS) model is proposed. In this method, a new algorithm is adopted to estimate subpixel shift of the low-resolution (LR) images and do motion compensation. The main stage of the algorithm employs the iterative method of POCS model, utilizing some new constraint operators. The experiment shows the method is robust and e ective. The disadvantage is that the convergence of the algorithm is not very fast.

Network-on-Chip (NoC) architectures are emerged as a promising solution to the lack of scalability in Multi-Processor Systems-on-Chips (MPSoCs). With the explosive growth in the usage of multimedia applications, it is expected that NoC serves as a multimedia server supporting multi-class services. This paper addresses rate control problem for applications with scalable multimedia services in Network-on-Chip architectures. Scalable multimedia applications are relying on multi-class services which use layered encoding schemes. We formulate the rate control for multimedia with multi-class services using the optimization approach. This allows us to devise an iterative rate control algorithm as the solution to the optimization problem. The rate control algorithm can be implemented using a controller with low computational overhead. The validity of the obtained expressions is demonstrated by comparing results predicted by the analytical model against those attained through extensive simulation experiments.

The paper first recalls the Blahut Arimoto algorithm for computing the capacity of arbitrary discrete memoryless channels, as an example of an iterative algorithm working with probability density estimates. Then, a geometrical interpretation of this algorithm based on projections onto linear and exponential families of probabilities is provided. Finally, this understanding allows also to propose to write the Blahut-Arimoto algorithm, as a true proximal point algorithm. it is shown that the corresponding version has an improved convergence rate, compared to the initial algorithm, as well as in comparison with other improved versions.

To solve the problem of two-phase flow measurement for electrode electrical capacitance tomography (ECT), on the basis of analyzing ECT system measurement principle, we constructed the mathematical model of two-phase flow distribution information according to double integral infinitesimal principle, and formed a set of 12-Electrode two-phase ECT system. And to speed up the slow convergence rate of ordinary iteration method, a Gauss-Newton algorithm is improved on the basis of analyzing mechanism of the algorithm, and the feasibility of using this algorithm for ECT problems is discussed. It shows that it is easy to meet the convergence condition and error of image reconstruction is small. Experimental results and simulation data indicate that the algorithm can provide high quality images and favorable stabilization compared with LBP, Landweber and conjugate gradient algorithms and this new algorithm presents a feasible and effective way to research on image reconstruction algorithm for Electrical Capacitance Tomography System.

A new system of set-valued quasi-variational-like inclusions (in short,QVLI) involving H-n-monotone operators is introduced and studied in general Banach spaces without uniform smoothness. Moreover, A new iterative algorithm to find the approximation solutions of the QVLI is suggested and analyzed. It is proved that the iterative sequences generated by the algorithm converge strongly to the exact solution of the QVLI under suitable assumptions. To solve the electrical capacitance tomography(ECT) technology "soft field" effect and pathological problem, a Quasi-Newton new algorithm for electrical capacitance tomography is presented. In this paper, an iterative high-resolution DOA algorithm is proposed for DOA estimation for CDMA systems. The algorithmiteratively removes detected signals from the received data and searches the residue spatial spectrum for further signals. It does not require any computationally expensive eigen decomposition or spatial smoothing in coherent multipath scenarios. Results are presented illustrating high-resolution at significantly lower SNR levels than those obtained by classical DOA algorithms such as MUSIC and MVM.

Ordered-subset simultaneous algebraic reconstruction technique (OS-SART) was studied by Ge Wang and Ming Jiang in 2004. It accelerate the convergence of SART, but it has some disadvantages, such as increasing the number of subsets accelerates iterative convergence, but there is a point beyond which image quality degrades due to a lack of statistical information within subset. In this paper, a new method of subset partition based on statistical test is proposed as an improved OS-SART (IOS-SART). IOS-SART can automatically adjust the number of the subsets for each iteration according to the statistical information content within subset demanded by user. Numerical simulation and application to practical data demonstrate that this algorithm converge faster and can provide high quality reconstructed images after a small number of iterations.

In this paper, we suggest and analyze some new iterative algorithms with variable anchors for non-expansive mapping in Banach spaces. We prove that the proposed iterative algorithms converge strongly to a fixed point of some non-expansive mapping. We also obtain some corollaries which include some results as special cases. Furthermore, we conclude the strong convergence of the so-called viscosity iterative algorithms.
