A numerical method is proposed to simulate the transverse vibrations of a viscoelastic moving string constituted by an integral law. In the numerical computation, the Galerkin method based on the Hermite functions is applied to discretize the state variables, and the Runge- Kutta method is applied to solve the resulting differential-integral equation system. A linear iterative process is designed to compute the integral terms at each time step, which makes the numerical method more efficient and accurate. As examples, nonlinear parametric vibrations of an axially moving viscoelastic string are analyzed.

A new system of generalized mixed implicit equilibrium problems (SGMIEP) involving nonmonotone set-valued mappings is introduced and studied in real reflexive Banach spaces. First, an auxiliary mixed equilibrium problem (AMEP) is introduced. The existence and the uniqueness of the solutions to the AMEP are proved under quite mild assumptions without any coercive conditions. Next, by using the solution mapping of the AMEP, a system of generalized equation problems (SGEP) is considered, and its equivalence with the SGMIEP is shown. By using the SGEP, a new iterative algorithm for solving the SGMIEP is proposed and analyzed. The strong convergence of the iterative sequences generated by the algorithm is proved under suitable conditions. These results are new, which unify and generalize some recent results in this field.

This paper is devoted to the study of a class of generalized nonexpansive mappings called generalized nearly asymptotically nonexpansive mappings and to show that it properly includes the class of nearly asymptotically nonexpansive mappings. We investigate the problem of approximating a common element of the set of solutions of a system of generalized nonlinear variational-like inclusions involving P-eta-accretive mappings and of the set of fixed points of a generalized nearly asymptotically nonexpansive mapping. To this end, we suggest a new iterative algorithm with mixed errors. As an application of the obtained equivalence, we prove the strong convergence and stability of the sequence generated by the proposed iterative algorithm to a common point of the two sets mentioned above.

In previous work, we designed space fiducials with the aim of making camera pose determination as noise-insensitive as possible. These fiducials turned out to be sets of points that formed concentric regular polyhedra. Here, we apply an idea of Dementhon and Davis and test and analyze an iterative linear algorithm in conjunction with our optimal fiducials to increase the accuracy of the computed camera pose. We also analyze under what circumstances this iterative algorithm is guaranteed to converge to the correct solution. A class of completely generalized set-valued strongly nonlinear mixed variational-like inequalities is introduced. The auxiliary principle technique is extended to study this new class of mixed variational-like inequalities. The existence of a solution of the auxiliary problem for this new class of mixed variational-like inequalities is shown. The iterative algorithm for this new class of mixed variational-like inequalities is given by virtue of this existence result. Moreover, the existence of a solution of this new class of mixed variational-like inequalities and the strong convergence of iterative sequences generated by the algorithm are shown. For a regime-switching model with a finite number of regimes and double phase-type jumps, Jiang and Pistorius (2008) derived matrix equations with real parameters for the Wiener-Hopf factorization. The Laplace transform of the first passage time distribution is expressed in terms of the solution of the matrix equations. In this paper we provide an iterative algorithm for solving the matrix equations of Jiang and Pistorius (2008) with complex parameters. This makes it possible to obtain numeric values of the Laplace transform with complex parameters for the first passage time distribution. The Laplace transform with complex parameters can be inverted by numerical inversion algorithms such as the Euler method. As an application, we compute the prices of defaultable bonds under a structural model with regime switching and double phase-type jumps. (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Nonnegative matrix factorization, which decomposes a target matrix into the product of two matrices with nonnegative elements, has been widely used in various fields of science, engineering and technology. In this paper, we consider the more general Q-weighted nonnegative matrix factorization (QWNMF) problem. By using the additive representation of the Q-weighted norm, the QWNMF problem is transformed into an unconstraint optimization problem, and then a new iterative algorithm is designed to solve it. The numerical analysis of this algorithm is also given. Numerical examples show that the new method is feasible and effective.

In this paper, hybrid technique proposed for tuning Time Delays System with proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller. So, the performance and the robustness for a class of Time Delay System are improved. The proposed hybrid technique is the combination of the iterative algorithm and curve fitting technique. The proposed iterative algorithm is improved, performance of the feedback tuning iterative technique;so the computational complexity of the iterative algorithm reduced. By using the iterative technique, the best polynomial coefficients of curve fitting technique is determined. Using the curve fitting technique, the Time Delay System is tuned and the stability parameters of the system is maintained. The curve fitting technique is one of the non linear programming techniques which can be constructed that approximately fits the data from the extract data. The proposed hybrid technique is implemented in MATLAB working platform and the tuning performance is evaluated. Then, the system performance of the proposed hybrid technique is compared with classical PID controller, Ziegler-Nichols tuning method.
