SVM(Smart Virtual Machine) is the virtual machine solution that supports various programming languages and platforms, and its aims are to support programming languages like ISO/IEC C++, java and Objective-C and smart phone platforms such as Android and iOS. Various contents that developed by supported language on SVM can be execute on Android and iOS platforms at no additional cost, because the SVM has the platform independent characteristic by using SIL(Smart Intermediate Language) as an intermediate language. In this paper, we will introduce the java compiler to support the contents written in java language on SVM which generates platform independently stack-based SIL code as target code.

Computer programming learning is an important course for students to foster critical thinking and logical thinking ability. However, most students don't have enough learning ability to learn programming automatically. In this study, we developed a program assistant teaching system for students to learn program easily. We built a Web-based java compiler Module for students to code online. We use this learning module to collect the information during students' coding. After students test on the learning module, we invited 15 domain experts to evaluate the proposed learning system with the view of teacher/administer. The results of questionnaire survey show positive outcomes and indicate the benefit of the system for students.

Perl is one of the most important programming languages in many research areas. However, the most relevant Big Data frameworks, Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark and Apache Storm, do not support natively this language. To take advantage of these Big Data engines Perl programmers should port their applications to java or Scala, which requires a huge effort, or use utilities as Hadoop Streaming with the corresponding degradation in the performance. For this reason we introduce PERLDOOP2, a Big Data-oriented Perl-java source-to-source compiler. The compiler is able to generate java code from Perl applications for sequential execution, but also for running on clusters taking advantage of Hadoop, Spark and Storm engines. Perl programmers only need to tag the source code in order to use the compiler. Experimental results demonstrate the benefits of PERLDOOP2 in terms of ease of use, performance and scalability.

java's ability to run on many different kinds of computers grew out of software devised decades before - The enduring appeal of java isn't hard to understand: With java, you write code once and it can run on almost any modern computer or operating system–PC or Mac, Windows, Linux, OS X, whatever. It works that way because the java compiler turns the source code into a kind of ersatz machine code that each of these different systems can execute when equipped with the proper run-time software. So different computers running different operating systems can all become, in programmers' parlance, java virtual machines.

java source code is strongly typed, but the translation from java source to bytecode omits much of the type information originally contained within methods. Type elaboration is a technique for reconstructing strongly typed programs from incompletely typed bytecode by inferring types for local variables. There are situations where, technically, there are not enough types in the original type hierarchy to type a bytecode program, Subtype completion is a technique for adding necessary types to an arbitrary type hierarchy to make type elaboration possible for all verifiable java bytecode. Type elaboration with subtype completion has been implemented as part of the Marmot java compiler.

ILJc (Intermediate Language to java compiler) would map IL (Intermediate Language) of the *** framework to java based applications. ILJc would be the middle-base in compiling and translating the IL code which ports out of Microsoft Visual *** into the equivalent java byte code. Thus, ILJc would simply transform Visual *** into relative java applications. ILJc does its best to map *** entities to java equivalents, furthermore ILJc must deal with the exceptions too. For an instance, in the case of exceptions, java provides one exception class, but *** provides three;ILJc is forced to map all three *** exceptions to the single java exception. The task is no easy to fix, but simply have to write around this many-to-one mapping. Although all *** exceptions are derived from the *** class, not all java exceptions are derived from ***;some generated by the JVM (java Virtual Machine) are derived from the *** class. This incongruence shows up in *** code that tries to catch all exceptions, when translated into java, exceptions derived from *** is taken for granted and slip off. As a proof of concept of how that system could be, we started sometime ago to implement ILJc, featuring a modular, flexible architecture. In this paper we show its structure, how it can be used, and how it can be further extended.

FPGAs enable NoC architecture experimentation, although to be effective they need to be supported by tools and frameworks for construction of the NoC and effective software programming of the NoC. In this paper, we focus upon effective programming of the NoC using java, complementing previous work which proposes the Blueshell framework for NoC generation for FPGAs. The approach taken is called Network-Chi, providing a number of key extensions to the Chi java compiler. This includes provision of a networking API within java giving a mesh based abstraction for network communication, allowing the programmer to send java objects to other nodes without consideration for the underlying hardware topology or protocols;and a region-based memory management API that enables the definition of transient allocation contexts that discard all objects allocated within them when they reach the end of execution. Results show the approach taken to be efficient and effective.

The Plurix project implements an object-oriented operating system (OS) for PC clusters. Network communication is implemented via the distributed shared memory (DSM) paradigm. Memory consistency is maintained by restartable transactions and an optimistic synchronization scheme, that have been used in database technology in the past. Originally, DSM systems were built to support parallel algorithms, but using DSM as a foundation for a general purpose OS offers interesting perspectives in designing and using distributed applications. The OS, including kernel and all drivers, is written in Plurix java. Our java compiler directly translates java source code into Intel machine instructions. Some minor language extensions support device-level programming. During the development of the system we identified conceptual problems which are caused by the restartability requirement of transactions. Clearly interrupts do not reoccur in case of an aborted transaction. Without proper precaution interrupts would get lost or devices could receive broken commands. In this paper we shortly review our DSM system and present the "smart buffer" concept to bridge the gap between restartable DSM transactions and non-restartable device operations and events. Finally, we validate our proposed solution by performance measurements and compare the kernel interface to traditional operating systems.
