Traditional "java programming"course teaching is often teacher-centered, resulting in students lacking of independent learning and innovative ability. In this study, we attempt to conduct teaching reform from four aspects: constructing course resources, refining teaching content, implementing teaching model, and adopting multiple assessment mechanism, all guided by a student-centered concept. We propose an online and offline hybrid teaching model, focusing on cultivating students' innovative ability. The teaching process is strategically designed into three stages: pre-class preparation, in-class internalization, and post-class consolidation. Finally, the analysis of assessment data shows significant improvement in students' innovative ability, indicating highly satisfactory teaching outcomes. © 2024 IEEE.

Third-party dependency updates can cause a build to fail if the new dependency version introduces a change that is incompatible with the usage: this is called a breaking dependency update. Research on breaking dependency updates is active, with works on characterization, understanding, automatic repair of breaking updates, and other software engineering aspects. All such research projects require a benchmark of breaking updates that has the following properties: 1) it contains real-world breaking updates;2) the breaking updates can be executed;3) the benchmark provides stable scientific artifacts of breaking updates over time, a property we call 'reproducibility'. To the best of our knowledge, such a benchmark is missing. To address this problem, we present BUMP, a new benchmark that contains reproducible breaking dependency updates in the context of java projects built with the Maven build system. BUMP contains 571 breaking dependency updates collected from 153 java projects. BUMP ensures long-term reproducibility of dependency updates on different platforms, guaranteeing consistent build failures. We categorize the different causes of build breakage in BUMP, providing novel insights for future work on breaking update engineering. To our knowledge, BUMP is the first of its kind, providing hundreds of real-world breaking updates that have all been made reproducible. © 2024 IEEE.

Image J is an image processing software based on java programming language, which can calculate the area, measurement distance, angle of the specified area of the image, and can accurately and quantitatively analyze the three-dimensional imaging results of ultrasonic phased array. This paper focuses on the application of Image J in processing three-dimensional imaging images of cavity defects in concrete to obtain precise defect location and area values. The results show that the ultrasonic phase control system is used to detect the hole defects of concrete, and the depth of the hole is increased, and in the same detection condition, the defect of the hole is gradually blurred, and the focus imaging capacity of the system decreases with the increase of the buried depth. Conversely, as the size of the hole increases, it becomes more realistic and enhances the system's focusing imaging capability. By comparing key parameters such as average area error rate, average circular error rate, average aspect ratio error rate, and average solid error rate provided by Image J software, it can be concluded that this software accurately facilitates quantitative analysis of concrete defects. © 2024 ISPM. A computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and hydraulic system cosimulation method was implemented to understand formation tester dual-inlet dual-packer cleanup in oil-based mud. The simulation includes miscible multispecies fluids in the formation, the dual-packer interval (sump), and the formation tester flowlines, with the objective of reconciling a long-observed dual-packer discrepancy between simulated and observed formation fluid cleanup and generating operational best practices. A commercial CFD simulator is used to perform coupled simulations for flow in formation rock and in the dual-packer sump. Unlike reservoir simulators, which apply a simplified sandface condition using a well model, the CFD simulator includes the dynamics of fluid flow in the wellbore. Next, a simplified hydraulic tool flowline model is coded using java, and a java scripting functionality within the CFD simulator connects the CFD solver with the hydraulic model. This method includes mud, mud filtrate (filtrate), and reservoir hydrocarbons and honors the full pressure and flow rate history from the reservoir to the tool. Results show that when fluid sampling cleanup is initiated, flow into the dual-packer sump always starts from the top of the interval. This is caused by the pressure gradient difference between the sump (mud) and formation fluid (filtrate and native hydrocarbon). Simulations with a light hydrocarbon formation fluid result in native fluids fingering through the higher-viscosity filtrate. As the sump pressure continues to decrease, fluids start to enter the interval farther down, creating some density-driven flow circulation in the sump, particularly when the pumps are stopped for an early pressure buildup. The sump region below the lower inlet cleans up much more slowly because the heavier mud is not easily displaced with filtrate or hydrocarbon. In order to understand the optimization management of sports venue facilities resources, a research on the optimization management of sports venue facilities resources based on intelligent scheduling algorithms has been proposed. This paper first analyzes the resource management system for sports facilities in universities. The system provides a detailed design of functional modules such as user management, venue management, and equipment management. Secondly, under the B/S structure, the NET development framework is adopted, java programming language and ASP. NET 3.0 development technology are selected, and Oracle 11g is used as the backend database management system to study and design a sports facility resource management system, which has significant practical significance for intelligent management of sports venues. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

This sequence alignment stands as a pivotal method in the realm of bioinformatics, meticulously employed to ascertain the degree of similarity between diverse sequences such as DNA, RNA, and amino acids. Among the myriad techniques utilized in tackling sequence alignment challenges, the Longest Common Subsequence (LCS) takes center stage. This paper delves into the realm of enhancing LCS efficiency through the implementation of thread parallelization. Drawing inspiration from the seminal work of Wagner and Fischer in 1974, both sequential and parallel techniques exhibit remarkable consistency in identifying the maximum length of LCS. However, this research goes a step further by introducing thread parallelization, which leverages multithreading, resource synchronization, and task decomposition within the domain of parallel programming. The meticulous integration of these advanced techniques results in a notable enhancement in terms of running time compared to the conventional iterative sequential approach. The experimentation and evaluation of both sequential and parallel approaches were conducted using Netbeans, a robust Integrated Development Environment (IDE) tailored for the java programming language. The findings underscore the superior performance of the thread parallelization strategy, establishing its prowess in optimizing the execution time of LCS problem resolution. © 2024 IEEE.

In today's world where generative artificial intelligence has almost become an integral part of the coding, new challenges must be faced. Therefore, evaluating software bugs in both human written and AI generated code can be useful for the developers. A comparative analysis of these two coding practices is not only helpful for the decisions taken by the developers, it will also assist to give a direction on how to improve the quality of AI driven code. Currently, researchers have leveraged the role of software metrics to compare human written code and AI generated code as these metrics have long been utilized for software bug and vulnerability prediction by the researchers. They also analyzed the secure coding practices in terms of the number of bugs found in both AI and human written code. Our study is an extension of the current works as this study focuses on a set of metrics and a set of bugs as identified by some static analyzer tools. Investigating these two coding practices from different angles can help to reveal unknown relationships and factors that further can be analyzed to improve code quality of recent AI tools. Therefore, the main objective of our work is to identify the relationships between software metrics and bugs in AI generated code and human written code to compare and contrast the coding profiles of the two approaches. This will offer developers critical knowledge to enhance their strategies in mitigating potential bug risks across different coding methodologies. We have utilized top-rated java solutions to 90 LeetCode problems, generated corresponding AI java solutions to them, and utilized various static analysis tools to collect metrics and bugs. In this study, we found that two software metrics CountLineCodeDecl and CountLineCodeExe are positively correlated with the bug DLS-DEAD-LOCAL-STORE and the metric AvgCyclomatic is related to the bug AvoidLiteralsInIfCondition in both human written and AI generated code. Self-admitted technical debt (SATD) is a kind of technical debt that is already acknowledged by the developers and needs additional work or resources to address in the future. In recent years, though many methods have been proposed to detect SATDs, these methods have mainly focused on java-type code comments published by Maldonado et al. It is unclear whether these methods trained on Maldonado's code comments dataset can find SATD in other programming languages or other software artifacts, such as issue trackers, pull requests, and commit messages effectively. In order to answer the above confusion and investigate how far our community has progressed in the field of SATD identification, we first collect a comprehensive dataset that contains SATDs in code comments from four different programming languages (java, python, docker file, XML) and SATDs in other different artifacts (issue tracker, pull requests, commit messages) from previous papers working in the field of SATD. Then, we re-train the existing models with Maldonado's code comments dataset and test all the models on other programming languages and other artifacts. The results show that existing SATD identification methods can find SATDs in other non-java languages, but perform poorly in identifying SATDs from three other different artifacts. In addition, in order to simultaneously identify four different artifacts of SATDs, we develop a Multi-Task Learning model utilizing BERT for SATD identification (MT-BERT-SATD). Considering four different artifacts and the SATD identification tasks, MT-BERT-SATD achieves an average F1-score of 0.712 (0.625-0.859), which is superior to existing models from 4.6% to 30.4%. Results show that MT-BERT-SATD can effectively identify SATD instances across explored programming languages and software artifacts, indicating its capability to identify SATD instances in new and unexplored programming languages and software artifacts. © 2024 IEEE.

Numerous third-party libraries introduced into client projects are not actually required, resulting in modern software being gradually bloated. Software developers may spend much unnecessary effort to manage the bloated dependencies: keeping the library versions up-to-date, making sure that heterogeneous licenses are compatible, and resolving dependency conflict or vulnerability issues. However, the prior debloating techniques can easily produce false alarms of bloated dependencies since they are less effective in analyzing java reflections. Besides, the solutions given by the existing approaches for removing bloated dependencies may induce new issues that are not conducive to dependency management. To address the above limitations, in this paper, we developed a technique, Slimming, to remove bloated dependencies from software projects reliably. Slimming statically analyzes the java reflections that are commonly leveraged by popular frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot) and resolves the reflective targets via parsing configuration files (*. xml, *. ym1 and *. properties). By modeling string manipulations, Slimming fully resolves the string arguments of our concerned reflection APIs to identify all the required dependencies. More importantly, it helps developers analyze the debloating solutions by weighing the benefits against the costs of dependency management. Our evaluation results show that the static reflection analysis capability of Slimming outperforms all the other existing techniques with 97.0% of Precision and 98.8% of Recall. Compared with the prior debloating techniques, Slimming can reliably remove the bloated dependencies with a 100% test passing ratio and improve the rationality of debloating solutions. In our large-scale study in the Maven ecosystem, Slimming reported 484 bloated dependencies to 66 open-source projects. 38 reports (57.6%) have been confirmed by developers. © 2024 ACM.

In response to the previous issue, wherein the RSA (n) factorization process relied on Pythagorean and quadratic equations, facilitated by MS Excel Solver, and constrained by a 15-digit limit for n [3], [19], transitioning to java programming significantly enhanced the factorization capability, enabling operations on n exceeding 100 digits, but this was not done due to limited time and computer resources currently available. During experimentation, it became evident that the current computational speed averaged 0,00806444662771415 milliseconds per attempt, indicating that despite limited infrastructure computer, we are advancing scientific development and research. Our findings show that each two-digit addition (p∗ q) takes ten times as many attempts, leading to an exponential increase in processing time. This study proposed that the main strength of the RSA algorithm lay in the difficulty of factorizing long prime numbers with limited computer resources, and this experiment was only conducted to demonstrate that exponential occurred when the number of digits in p and q to form the n value in RSA increased. As example in TC#6, 13 x 13 digits, where the time required is amounting to 1562003 ms equal to 1562,003 seconds equal to 26,033 minutes. This research lays a foundational step towards more effective and efficient scientific development, thereby contributing to future advancements in the field. © 2024 IEEE.
