In this paper, an approach to the development of medical wearables is proposed. The system integrates sensing modules, Wi-Fi microcontroller and Web browser based user interface. As an example, ECG-PPG monitor is presented. The signals are acquired by AD8232 ECG amplifier module and MAX30102 PPG and SpO2 system on chip. The ESP8266 microcontroller is used as a host, while HTML5 protocol with javascript, Canvas and Web Socket performs user interfacing, data post-processing and visualization. The idea and testing confirm satisfactory results, both in terms of performance and cost.

The possibility of implementing an HTML user interface for a stand-alone microcontroller device is tested out. The wireless Wi-Fi ECG monitor is considered as an example. It's shown that the standard HTML-5 and java-script features, such as Canvas, Web-Socket and other, are quite enough to build a full-fledged user interface that is not attached to a specific hardware and software platform. Furthermore, any standard device (laptop, tablet, mobile phone, etc.) with a Web-browser can be used as a user terminal. The use of Web-based HTML interface radically simplifies the development of standalone medical applications.

We present the first large-scale studies of three advanced web tracking mechanisms - canvas fingerprinting, evercookies and use of "cookie syncing" in conjunction with evercookies. Canvas fingerprinting, a recently developed form of browser fingerprinting, has not previously been reported in the wild;our results show that over 5% of the top 100,000 websites employ it. We then present the first automated study of evercookies and respawning and the discovery of a new evercookie vector, IndexedDB. Turning to cookie syncing, we present novel techniques for detection and analysing ID flows and we quantify the amplification of privacy-intrusive tracking practices due to cookie syncing. Our evaluation of the defensive techniques used by privacy-aware users finds that there exist subtle pitfalls - such as failing to clear state on multiple browsers at once - in which a single lapse in judgement can shatter privacy defenses. This suggests that even sophisticated users face great difficulties in evading tracking techniques.
