In this paper, we present a novel rateless code which outperforms lt-code, since it is adapted for network coding. To reduce the delay incurred at the intermediate nodes because of decoding and re-encoding, we design and analyze a novel degree distribution which we call Switched Distribution, This distribution increases the delivery ratio at the decoder even when few encoded symbols are received. The performance of our scheme is evaluated using simulations.

Early and well monitored pre-hospital rescue contributes to endangered patients survival and low mortality. Ambulances are likely to be prevented from reaching hospital in time by poor traffic conditions. Existing methods of communication through Radio such as 2G/3G are faced with the problems of narrow bandwidth, high cost and low quality. We introduce a new way to transmit large amounts of vital data from ambulance to hospital over VANET. To solve the unavoidable packet loss, we encode all data by lt-code. This makes receiver to be able to restore all data under the circumstance of any percentage of packet loss, with only the cost of sending more encoded message instead of ARQ. In the situation of 10%-20% packet loss rate, the simulation results show the perfect data restoring. The great amount of feed backing needed by ARQ is also eliminated by lt-coding.

How to resist combined geometric attacks effectively while maintain a high embedding capacity is still a challenging task for the digital watermarking research. An affine correction based algorithm is proposed in this paper, which can resist combined geometric attacks and keep a higher watermark embedding capacity. The SURF algorithm and the RANSAC algorithm are used to extract, match and select feature points from the attacked image and the original image. Then, the least square algorithm is used to estimate the affine matrix of the geometric attacks according to the relationship between the matched feature points. The attacks are corrected based on the estimated affine matrix. A fine correction step is included to improve the precision of the watermark detection. To resist the cropping attacks, the watermark information is encoded with lt-coding. The encoded watermark is embedded in the DWT-DCT composite domain of the image. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm not only has a high embedding capacity, but also is robust to many kinds of geometric attacks.

The application of joint source-channel coding, based on fountain codes, in the broadcast timeslot of wireless two-way network coding is investigated in this paper. A computationally efficient subroutine is contributed to the implementation of the fountain compressor, and an error analysis is done. Motivated to develop a true joint source-channel-network code that compresses, adds robustness against channel noise and network codes two packets on a single bipartite graph and iteratively decodes the intended packet on the same Tanner graph, an adaptation of the fountain compressor is presented. The proposed code is shown to outperform a separated joint source-channel and network code in high source entropy and high channel noise regions.
