PurposeThe purpose of this study is to establish the mediating effect of entrepreneurial knowledge in the relationship between learning methods and entrepreneurial effectiveness of women-owned agricultural small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in ***/methodology/approachThis study is cross-sectional and correlational in nature and used a quantitative approach. A self-administered questionnaire was used to gather data from 380 women-owned agri-SMEs in Central Uganda. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS.25) and Medgraph (Excel Version) were used to support data *** findings revealed that learning methods and entrepreneurial knowledge are significant predictors of entrepreneurial effectiveness. In addition, entrepreneurial knowledge significantly mediates the association between learning methods and entrepreneurial effectiveness of women-owned agricultural SMEs in ***/valueThe study confirmed that entrepreneurial knowledge significantly mediates the relationship between learning methods and entrepreneurial effectiveness of women-owned agricultural SMEs, unlike previous studies that focused on the direct relationship between the study variables in predicting the study phenomenon.

We live in a decade of uprising of technology and communications, where the understanding of the process of learning is a key issue for any instructor, who tries to work out the most appropriate methods in order to use them throughout his/her teaching. In this educational structure, we study closely two learning methods: collaborative learning and nearest neighbor learning. We compare these two learning methods, discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each one and present the results of the study.

Purpose - The purpose of this research is to present evaluation findings from the National Public Health Leadership Institute (PHLI) regarding how the curriculum's learning methods work singly and together to produce outcomes for learners and their organizations. Design/methodology/approach - Six months after graduation from PHLI, four recent cohorts of PHLI graduates were asked to report overall reactions to PHLI by using an online survey. The survey consisted of quantitative questions about key leadership behaviors taught in the program and the usefulness of PHLI's five learning methods as well as qualitative questions about changes in understanding, skill, practices, and outcomes. Findings - The evaluation survey yielded a 66 percent response rate (n = 133). PHLI's learning methods are interrelated and lead to such outcomes as changed leadership understanding, knowledge and skill development, increased confidence, increased self-awareness, leadership practice changes, and organizational results. The learning project was strongly associated with development of collaborations, whereas assessment tools and coaching were most often associated with increased self-awareness. Research limitations/implications - These preliminary findings support the idea that particular learning methods are related to specific outcomes. However, graduates often integrate information and skills from multiple methods to achieve outcomes. Future research should investigate whether the associations identified in this evaluation are present in other leadership development programs. Originality/value - This is the first published evaluation that has attempted to link specific learning methods with outcomes for participants of a public health leadership development program.

Sentiment analysis, is a subfield of natural language processing that aims at opinion mining to analyze thoughts, orientation and, evaluation of users within some texts. The solution to this problem includes two main steps: extracting aspects and determining users' positive or negative sentiments with respect to the aspects. Two main challenges of sentiment analysis in the Persian language are lack of comprehensive tagged data sets and use of colloquial language in texts. In this paper we propose, a system to specify and extract sentiment words using unsupervised methods in the Persian language that also support colloquial words. Additionally, we also proposed and implemented a state-of-art technique to expand Persian sentiment lexicon. Our proposed method utilized neural network (Word2Vec model) with the help of rule-based methods. F1 measure for sentiment words extraction in our proposed method is 0.58.

Open source software (OSS) is usually developed by heterogeneous groups of people, each with their own interests, motivations and abilities. Therefore, it is important to establish the best software development and contributing practices early in the life-time of the project. Such practices should foster the contributors' involvement in the OSS project as quickly as possible. The sustainability of an OSS project is heavily based on the underlying community of contributors and on the knowledge and skills they bring to the project and they acquire and develop through their participation in the project and interaction with the project community. Therefore, identifying and investigating contributors' learning processes is an important research area in OSS. This survey paper presents an overview of open source learning methods in order to explore how community interaction impacts the development and application of OSS learning processes in other areas, especially in education. It is argued that collaboration with peers and consistent code contributions result in learning progress in OSS. Typical research in this area is based on case by case analysis, whereas this survey tries to highlight and combine the outcomes of several research contributions from the literature.

Quantum control landscape is generally a physical objective defined as a functional of the control field and plays an important role for the analysis and manipulation of quantum systems. In this paper, we focus on typical learning methods (i.e., gradient decent method, genetic algorithm and deferential evolution) for the landscape control of open quantum systems and explores the characteristics of these different types of learning algorithms. Taking a two-level open quantum system as an example, the optimal value of the control landscape can be obtained under varying Lindblad operators that reflect the system's interactions with the environment. Numerical experiments demonstrate the learning performances to acquire the optimal control strategy by exploring the control landscape of this two-level open quantum system.

In this paper, we explore the problem of how to learn spectral (e.g., Fourier) models for classification problems. Specifically, we consider two sub-problems of spectral learning: (1) how to select the basis functions that will be included in the model and (2) how to assign coefficients to the selected basis functions. Interestingly, empirical results suggest that the most commonly used approach does not perform as well in practice as other approaches, while a method for assigning coefficients based on finding an optimal linear combination of low-order basis functions usually outperforms other approaches.

This research aims to explore the online English learning effects among preschoolers with different cognitive characteristics influenced by different learning methods and the interaction between cognitive characteristics and learning methods. Data are collected by using two 3 x 3 between-subject experiments. Wherein, 248 participants based on Embedded Figure Test are divided into Field Independence (FID), Field Mixed (FM), and Field Dependence (FM) in Study 1, while 247 participants based on the Go-No-Go task are divided into Higher self-control (HSC), Middle self-control (MSC), Lower self-control (LSC) in Study 2. Then, through random assignment, all participants enter three learning method groups, restudy (RS), restudy plus test (RST), and restudy plus test plus feedback (RSTF). In addition, all children were allowed to learn online on the iPad to test their learning outcomes by word recognition, picture-word matching, and picture book recognition tests. As seen from the results, FID children performed better than FM and FD children, but their learning outcomes were not affected by the learning methods. FM and FD children performed better when adopting the RSTF learning method. However, for children with different levels of self-control, no differences are found despite their learning methods. Given the above, the "fit/match" between children's cognitive style and online learning methods are effective in maximizing learning effects for preschoolers.
