A new high-resolution frequency estimator based on pole-placement AR model

The high-resolution frequency estimators most commonly used, such as least square (LS) method based on AR model, MVSE, MUSIC and ESPRIT, determine estimates of the sinusoidal frequencies from the sample noise-corrupted data. In this paper, a new frequency estimation method named Pole-Placement least square (PPLS) is presented, which is a modified LS method with a certain number of model poles restricted to the unit circle. The statistical performance of PPLS is studied numerically, and compared with the Cramer-Rao bound as well as the statistical performance corresponding to the LS methods. PPLS is shown to have higher resolution than the conventional LS method. The relationship between poles location and its resolution is also discussed in detail.

The most commonly used methods of target tracking in the linear system is least square Filtering, Kalman filtering and Interacting Multiple Model(IMM). In this article, we use least square algorithm and the Interacting Multiple Model (IMM) to study the tracking of non-maneuvering target and maneuvering target. Then compare to several algorithms, and deduces the advantage and disadvantage of each algorithm.

The surface heat transfer coefficient is obtained by the calculation of water-flowing in the second cooling zone of continuous casting;the parameters of this formula are determined by the engineering experiment methods. This paper adopts a new method-numerical calculation method to obtain these parameters. Firstly, the paper uses the method of solving inverse heat conduction problems to calculate the surface heat flux and the surface heat transfer coefficient. Secondly, by using the least square method, the parameters in the formula between the surface heat transfer coefficient and water-flowing are identified. Finally, a plant steel data is used to do some simulation experiments. The results of this simulation prove this numerical method feasibility and effectiveness.

In this paper, a modified single hidden layer feedforward neural network (MSLFN) based model to describe the behavior of rate-dependent hysteresis inherent in piezoelectric actuators is proposed. In the proposed scheme, the improved SLFN model combining the weighted sum of simple backlash operators and the weighted sum of linear dynamic operators. According to the technique of the extreme learning machine, all the parameters of both backlash and linear dynamic operators are randomly assigned, while the output weights are determined by the least square (LS) algorithm. Then, the experimental results on a piezoceramic actuator are presented. It is shown that the improved model has obtained satisfactory approximation and generalization.

In this paper, we present an equivalent circuit model of a multi filamentary corona discharge powered by pulsed positive voltage in the case of humid air at atmospheric pressure. The elements of the equivalent circuit are obtained by an optimization method of parameter identification, applying the Recursive least square algorithm with a Variable Forgetting factor (RLS-VF), based on the measured currents and voltages of the discharge. A comparison between the measured discharge current and the calculated current shows a good agreement. The obtained time varying discharge resistance is between about 5-300 m Omega and the capacitance between about 0.01 pF to 1 pF. Then we used the equivalent circuit components to calculate the energy efficiency versus the applied voltage that varies at its maximum under the present experimental conditions from about 20% to 50%. In the UWB indoor wireless positioning system, to solve the problem of the NLOS error caused by the complex indoor environment and the changeable obstacles makes the positioning precision reduced. This paper uses ranging residuals to identify NLOS error, Kalman Filter is performed on the range of the LOS environment, Bias Kalman Filter based on ranging residuals compensation is performed in NLOS environment, if the ranging residuals compensation caused by some NLOS error mutations failed to reach the threshold value, according to the redundant range value after compensation, which adjusts the gain of Bias Kalman Filter automatically to reconstruct the range of LOS environment further. least square algorithm and Sliding Window Filter are used to calculate coordinate and smooth trajectory, experimental results show that the algorithm can effectively reduce the effect of NLOS error on location. The error of static positioning of 95% probability is not less than 0.075m, the maximum positioning error is no more than 0.082m, and the accuracy of dynamic positioning can be stabilized within 0.26m, which satisfies the needs of most indoor locations.

To improve the control precision of multi-joint robots, a adaptive fuzzy immune PID control method for multi-joint robots was presented based on the immune feedback mechanism and fuzzy control theory, and the parameters of PID controller was optimized with hybrid algorithm. First, least square algorithm was used for off-line optimization to form immune feedback control system. Then, genetic algorithm was used for on-line optimization to get the optimal performance parameters of immune PID control system and the optimal fuzzy proportional parameters. Simulation results of a 2-joint robot manipulator demonstrated that the control method designed gets tracking effect with high precision and speed.

To realize the trajectory tracking control for six degrees of freedom parallel robot, a fuzzy sliding mode control strategy based on support vector machines is presented. Sliding mode control algorithm has complete adaptability to system disturbance and siring in sliding mode, which is used to automatically track the uncertainty of system parameters and external disturbance. Fuzzy algorithm is applied to improve the sliding mode control performance. Fuzzy support vector machines have strong treatment of non-linear signal and generalization ability, which is used to reduce the chattering in sliding mode control. The parameters of fuzzy support machines controller are optimized by hybrid learning algorithm, which combines least square algorithm with improved genetic algorithm, to get the optimal control performance for the object. The simulation results demonstrated that the control strategy designed gets tracking effect with high precision and speed, as well as reduces chattering of control under the condition of model error and external disturbance.

We use pulsed THz-TDS as a non-contact method for the measurement of thickness in automobile paint on a non-metallic substrate. We use a least square algorithm in order to fit the reflected pulses of each layer. Extracting the delay of each from the theoretical function allows us to know the thickness of each layer present in the system.
