The location of underwater targets is an important issue in military applications. To specifically target a stationary object, a comparative experiment is designed by using the weighted centroid localizationalgorithm in the non-ranging location and the least square localization algorithm in the location of ranging to determine the target range. Three issues are addressed: (i) the estimated position of the measured object, (ii) the positioning error of the estimated position and the actual position of the object measured, and (iii) the closest beacon to the measured object.
