In asynchronous Multiple-Input-Multiple-Output Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing(MIMO-OFDM) over the selective Rayleigh fading channel,the performance of the existing linear detection algorithms improves slowly as the Signal Noise Ratio (SNR) *** improve the performance of asynchronous MIMO-OFDM,a low complexity iterative detection algorithm based on linear precoding is proposed in this *** the transmitter,the transmitted signals are spread by precoding matrix to achieve the space-frequency diversity gain,and low complexity iterative Interference Cancellation(IC) algorithm is used at the receiver,which relieves the error propagation by the precoding *** performance improvement is verified by *** the condition of 4 transmitting antennas and 4 receiving antennas at the BER of 10-4,about 6 dB gain is obtained by using our proposed algorithm compared with traditional algorithm.

linear precoding is an attractive technique to combat interference in multiple-input multiple-output systems because it reduces costs and power consumption in the receiver equipment. Most of the frequency division duplex systems with linear precoding acquire the channel state information at the receiver by using supervised algorithms. Such algorithms make use of pilot symbols periodically sent by the transmitter. In a later step, the channel state information is sent to the transmitter side through a limited feedback channel. In order to reduce the overhead inherent to the periodical transmission of training data, we propose to acquire the channel state information by combining supervised and unsupervised algorithms, leading to a hybrid and more efficient approach. Simulation results show that the performance achieved with the proposed scheme is clearly better than that with standard algorithms.

Nowadays, Multi-user Multiple-In Multiple-Out (MU-MIMO) systems are used in new generation wireless technologies. Due to ongoing improvement in wireless technology, the numbers of users and applications increase rapidly. At the same time, wireless communication need the high data rate and link reliability. Therefore, MU-MIMO improvements have to consider 1) providing the high data rate and link reliability, 2) support all users in the same and frequency resource, and 3) using low power consumption. In practice, inter-user interference has a strong impact when more users access the wireless link. Complicated transmission techniques such as interference cancellation are used to maintain a given desired quality of service. Due to these problems, MU-MIMO systems with very large antenna arrays (known as massive MIMO) are proposed. With massive MU-MIMO systems, we mean a hundred or more serving tens of users. The channel vectors are nearly orthogonal, and the inter-user interference is reduced significantly. Therefore, the users can be served with high data rate simultaneously. In this paper, we investigate the performance of the massive MU-MIMO downlink system in a single cell where the base station utilizes linear precoding schemes to serve many users over the Rayleigh fading channel.

Next generation high throughput satellite systems are expected to rely on the deployment of a high number of beams in the user link, and therefore operate in an interference limited regime. This paper builds on the combination of advanced interference mitigation techniques and ground based beamforming to cope with this increased level of interference among users. Focussing on the forward link of a multi-beam broadband satellite system, we consider the joint design of linear precoding and ground based beamforming at the gateway. This joint design is modeled, and different linear precoding techniques are considered for comparison. The provided simulation results quantify the performance gain generated by this joint design with respect to considering precoding for a fixed on-board beamforming. The robustness of the considered scheme to channel estimation errors is also analyzed.

Massive MIMO (multiple-input multiple-output) has been recognized as an efficient solution to improve the spectral efficiency of future communication systems. However, increasing the number of antennas and users goes hand-in-hand with increasing computational complexity. In particular, the precoding design becomes involved since near-optimal precoding, such as regularized-zero forcing (RZF), requires the inversion of a large matrix. In our previous work [1] we proposed to solve this issue in the single-cell case by approximating the matrix inverse by a truncated polynomial expansion (TPE), where the polynomial coefficients are selected for optimal system performance. In this paper, we generalize this technique to multi-cell scenarios. While the optimization of the RZF precoding has, thus far, not been feasible in multi-cell systems, we show that the proposed TPE precoding can be optimized to maximize the weighted max-min fairness. Using simulations, we compare the proposed TPE precoding with RZF and show that our scheme can achieve higher throughput using a TPE order of only 3.

In this paper, we consider the performance analysis of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) inter-symbol interference (ISI) systems involving linear-precoding (LP) and iterative linear minimum mean-square error (ILMMSE) detection. The main contribution of this paper is an area theorem to evaluate the achievable rate of the proposed LP-ILMMSE scheme. Based on this area theorem, we further optimize the linear precoder to maximize the achievable rate. Numerical results are provided to verify our analysis.

An optimal linear precoding scheme based on Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO),which aims to maximize the system capacity of the cooperative transmission in the downlink channel,is proposed for a multicell multiuser single input single output *** such a scheme,the optimal precoding vector could be easily searched for each user according to a simplified objective *** results show that the proposed scheme can obtain larger average spectrum efficiency and a better Bit Error Rate(BER) performance than Zero Forcing(ZF) and Minimum Mean Square Error(MMSE) algorithm.

In this paper, we investigate the outage performance of interference aided adaptive linear precoding in the downlink of a multiuser multiple-input-single-output (MISO) overlay cognitive radio (CR) network. While previous research studies on linear precoding techniques in CR network aim to limit or completely cancel the interference to the primary users while achieving maximum downlink throughput of the CR system, we here make use of adaptive linear precoding at the cognitive base station (CBS) to exploit the interference to the primary and the secondary systems. We show by analysis and simulations that the outage performance of the proposed precoding technique is significantly enhanced in comparison to the conventional techniques.

The mobile WiMAX standard (802.16e) uses multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) limited feedback linear precoding to exploit the channel state information at the transmitter. Although the performance of limited feedback linear precoding in relation to traditional open-loop MIMO-OFDM has been extensively studied in the literature, these studies commonly assume perfect channel estimation at the receiver. In a practical OFDM-based system, the estimated channel matrix often differs from the actual channel matrix due to errors incurred in the channel estimation process. This results in degraded performance relative to the case with perfect channel estimation. To date, few researchers have studied the impact of channel estimation error on the performance of an OFDM limited feedback linear precoding system. This paper investigates the channel estimation error using 1) an MMSE channel estimator that takes into account the subcarrier correlation when estimating the channel, 2) a Low Rank (LR) channel estimator that relaxes the requirement for a perfect channel covariance matrix in the MMSE receiver, and 3) a ZF estimator where this correlation information is ignored. Simulation results show that with the MMSE estimator the system suffers very little array gain loss with a performance degradation of 0.2dB SNR. Compared to the MMSE estimator, the LR estimator incurs a small performance loss of around 0.5dB. Finally, when the ZF estimator is implemented, a significant performance degradation is observed with approximately 4-5dB loss in array gain loss.

Then, the maximum ratio emission (MRT), zero forcing (ZF), minimum mean square error (MMSE) and other precoding methods are analyzed in detail. Finally, the capacity and bit error rate of the main algorithms are compared by simulation.
