Multi-attribute group decision making based on extended TOPSIS method under interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy environment

In this paper, we propose a novel multi-attribute group decision making (MAGDM) method under interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy environment by integrating extended TOPSIS and linear programming methods. We assume that multiple decision makers provide the input information, namely the assessment values and attribute weights using interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy (IVIF) values for incorporating inherent uncertainty in the MAGDM process. Furthermore, the weights of decision makers given by experts to describe their importance in group decision making are assumed as IVIF values. The advantage and disadvantage scores are employed to determine the individual measure of importance for each decision maker. Aggregation of the assessment values and attributes weights are performed using two different IVIF aggregation operators. A weighted similarity measure, based upon the optimal attributes weights obtained through linear programming method, is defined for determining relative closeness coefficients for selection of the most preferred alternative. A real-world case study is provided to illustrate the working of the proposed methodology. Moreover, a thorough comparison has been done with related existing works in order to show the advantages of the methodology. (C) 2018 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Estimation of natural gas optimum allocation to consuming sectors in year 2025 in Iran

Due to a large number of rich natural gas reserves in Iran, and considering the acceptable income from the exports of oil products, the consumption of gas instead of oil products in different consuming sectors seems to be rational. Therefore, in this article, the allocation of natural gas to different sectors such as residential, industries, power plants, transportation, reinjection to oil wells, export, and so forth is estimated based on the three scenarios using a linear programming method for the year 2025 in Iran. The results indicate that if there is no planned consumption management, the allocation of gas in future years will certainly have deficiencies in some sectors in Iran. Consequently, the feasible limit for unit replacement revenue of injection to oil wells is also calculated by sensitivity analysis on the coefficients of linear programming.

Three-based level model to determine optimal scheduling of the MG integrated operation using Benders decomposition

In this study, an optimal scheduling model is proposed to perform energy management in a microgrid (MG) including distributed energy resources in both grid-connected and islanded modes. To this end, a tri-level optimization model has been presented, in which Benders method decomposes the original problem into the main problem (the first level), sub-problem (SP) (the second level) and optimal SP (the third level). The first and second levels model the MG operation in grid-connected and islanded modes, respectively. Finally, the third level directs the obtained feasible solution of the second level to an optimal solution in the islanded mode. In the proposed model, the effect of an adjacent MG is also considered, and a call-option contract is used to model the transaction power between networked MG. While it is assumed that they are connected to each other, they only exchange power in the islanded mode to prevent the arbitrage state. The aim of the proposed model is to present a flexible and integrated operation of the MG, which has the ability to work in both grid connected and island modes. Uncertainties of the problem are modelled using the two-point estimation method (2 m+1).

linear programming bounds for codes in Grassmannian spaces

In this paper, we develop the linear programming method to obtain bounds for the cardinality of Grassmannian codes endowed with the chordal distance. We obtain a bound and its asymptotic version that generalize the well-known bound for codes in the real projective space obtained by Kabatyanskiy and Levenshtein, and improve the Hamming bound for sufficiently large minimal distances.

In this paper, based on the grey direct modelling method, we present linear programming method to estimate the parameters of the Lotka-Volterra model under the criterion of the minimization of mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) (some authors called average relative error). Then use Lotka-Volterra model to analysis the relationship between two variables, and use discrete Lotka-Volterra model to forecast the two variables respectively, two practical examples are chosen for practical tests of this method, the results show that this method can provide empirical support for long-term qualitative analysis and obtain short-term quantitative prediction results, these have shown that this method is effective and applicable. Optimal Dynamic Resource Allocation for Multi-Point Communication in WBAN

Considering the characteristics of lower power resources in multi-point wireless body area networks (WBANs), the wireless energy and information transmission in full duplex (FD) mode is considered. We propose a transmission protocol based on time division multiple access, which includes two phases. In the inactive phase, the signal access point (AP) broadcasts Radio Frequency (RF) energy to the sensors. When the energy collected by all sensors reaches their respective energy thresholds, the active phase will start. In the active phase, the sensors send back the collected physiological information parameters to the AP, while sensors still collecting the energy transmitted from the AP to achieve the purpose of energy accumulating. Our goal is to obtain the optimal time allocation ratio through the joint objective linear programming method to obtain the maximum average sum-throughput. The simulation results compared with the AP with FD and the sensors with half duplex (HD) show that our proposed optimization method can improve system throughput obviously.

Reducing the scenarios of network topology changes for adaptive coordination of overcurrent relays using hybrid GA-LP

In this study, using the concept of setting groups (SGs), an adaptive protection scheme is proposed to increase the reliability of the system. Connection and disconnection of switches and distributed generators result in various scenarios for network topology changes. A hybrid genetic algorithm (GA) and linear programming (LP) method is utilised to solve the problem, where the GA, in a near-optimal manner, classifies the scenarios of the network topology changes into a limited number of SGs and the LP algorithm optimally coordinates the overcurrent relays within the SGs. Simulations are performed on a radial distribution network and a meshed distribution network. Although by increasing the number of SGs the average operating time of the relays is decreased, the number of changes in the relay settings is increased. Therefore, the multi-objective optimisation algorithm is used to determine, the desired number of SGs. The results show the efficiency of the proposed adaptive protection scheme.

SCHEDULE EFFICIENCY IN A ROBOTIC PRODUCTION CELL

In this paper, we analyze the efficiency of a given robot movement schedule for the case of a flow shop robotic production cell with m different machines, one input conveyor, and one output conveyor. We begin with the case of one-robot cells and extend our results to multirobot cells. The paper studies the efficiency of a movement schedule for identical parts by defining a movement network associated with this schedule. This network models any cell layout and applies to multirobot cells. Using the movement network, we propose two cycle time evaluation methods, the first using linear programming and the second based on finding a longest path. The latter method generates a procedure to obtain an analytical formula for the cycle time. We extend the proposed methods to study the efficiency of a given input sequence (schedule) for different parts, that is, to determine the sequence processing time. The results obtained here allow us to quickly evaluate the efficiency of any given feasible movement schedule, for identical or different parts.

A multi-year transmission planning under a deregulated market

Due to the deregulation of power industry, the transmission expansion plan is different from the process done by the integrated monopolies. In a monopoly electric market, the transmission expansion plan is carried out by the vertically integrated utility. The power company integrates its generations' exploiting plans and its transmission expansion plans to maintain the system reliability. While in a deregulated power industry, generation, transmission, and distribution companies belong to different owners. The problem becomes more difficult. Generators experiencing transmission constraints can be expected to lobby for new transmission facilities that might relieve their constraints, while generators closer the load centers will likely toward not to build any new transmission facilities that would increase their competition. In order to provide a fair environment for all market participants, this paper proposed a reasonable expansion plan taking the operation cost, load curtailment cost, and investment cost into account. Due to the complexity of this model, the algorithm that combines the genetic algorithm with the linear programming method (GA-LP) is used to solve this problem. The 6-bus system and 24-bus IEEE reliability test system are used to verify the proposed model, and comparisons of test results between the proposed model and the traditional model are also demonstrated in this paper.
