Perfect aggregation of linear complementarity problems is possible under the notion of constrained consistency. This notion--which also can be interpreted as a disaggregation rule--requires restrictions on the domain of the microvariables to be aggregated. The linear complementarity problem includes symmetric and asymmetric quadratic programming, linear programming, and two-person, nonzero-sum games. Hence, all these mathematical programming structures admit consistent aggregation and disaggregation of their primal and dual variables. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A key aspect of distributed applications in platformas-a-service clouds revolves around the definition of requirements for quality of service and the most efficient use of the available resources to achieve them. Matching both the requirements and resources represents a unique challenge: While requirements are generally defined in relatively abstract form and defined as system-wide parameters, the resources are concrete, low-level entities that, by themselves, are only of marginal influence on the requirements. In order to establish a relationship between these two requires both the agglomeration of properties into more abstract ones as well as refining requirements in more detailed, concrete ones, both of which can often only be done to a certain degree. This paper presents a vision how both aspects can be brought to the same level and introduces an approach enhancing component-based cloud applications with non-functional properties in the context of an integrated programming model. This allows developers of such applications to formally declare properties that may influence the application during runtime and document the expectations regarding non-functional aspects of the overall system. This can be used to ensure the health of the application and, in case requirements are violated, actions like the deployment of additional resources can be performed in order to alleviate any degradation of its non-functional state, either by evaluating, choosing and performing pre-defined actions automatically or by manual administrative intervention.

This work reveals an ANFIS based model for Delhi Urban Area, India (DUA) for trip distribution. This work has been implemented for distribution of passenger's trips in DUA for all the zones. This work shows the application of ANFIS based model on the real set of trips generated/attracted data of DUA passengers. The machine learning result is found quite satisfactory error being as low as .92%. This paper shows the analysis and comparison of the end results of ANFIS based model with the linear programming (LP) based model for the distribution of passenger's trips.

In this paper, we present two approaches to solve the relocation problem in one-way carsharing system. We start by formulating the problem as an Integer linear programming Model. Then using mobility data collected from an operational carsharing system, we built demands matrices that will be used as input data for our solver. We notice that the time needed to solve the ILP using an exact solver increases dramatically when we increase the number of employees involved in the relocation process and when the system gets bigger. To cope with this problem, we develop a greedy algorithm in order to solve the relocation problem in a faster time. Our algorithm takes one second to solve the relocation problem in worst cases;also, we evaluated the robustness of the two approaches with stochastic input data using different numbers of employees.

Many serious games include computational models that simulate dynamic systems. These models promote enhanced interaction and responsiveness. Under the social web paradigm more and more usable game authoring tools become available that enable prosumers to create their own games, but the inclusion of dynamic simulations remains a specialist's job involving knowledge of mathematics, numerical modeling and programming. This paper describes a methodology for specifying and running a specific subset of computational models without the need of bothering with mathematical equations. The methodology comprises a knowledge elicitation procedure for identifying and specifying the required model components, whereupon the mathematical model is automatically generated. The approach is based on the fact that many games focus on optimisation problems that are covered by a general class of linear programming models. The paper thus sketches the principles of a creativity tool that removes barriers for harvesting the creative potential of teachers and students.

For the study of the complex interconnections in an IoT-driven world, an engineering case was developed to teach engineering students the interrelations and requirements for a robust, controlled and secured system incorporating all challenges of the modern IoT-system. As a case the charging problem for electric batteries (as for electric cars) was explored, both from the client (user at the loadstation) side as from the delivery side (service provider).
