Prediction method for closed-loop data for emulated linear time-varying system

In this study, data-driven control methods, namely VRFT, FRIT, and estimated response iterative tuning (ERIT), are proposed for controlled plants in linear systems. Notably, the ERIT method allows the prediction of input/output data in advance and the adjustment of feedforward controllers. A method is proposed in this study for predicting closed-loop data for an arbitrary controller with a linear and time-invariant system as the controlled plant.

The piece-wise constant system(PWCS) observability analysis approach is an efficient method of analyzing the observability of linear time-varying *** improved approach is proposed to makes the analytical analysis simpler by eliminating redundant computation and simplifying the analysis *** the improved approach,the relation between the observability and the system status can be easily *** improved PWCS observability approach is used to analyze the strapdown inertial navigation system rapid transfer alignment model,which is a typical time-varying system.A simulation result validates the efficiency and advantage of the improved PWCS observability approach.

This paper investigates the stability problem of linear time-varying systems with sampled-data observer. The sampleddata observer is constructed on the basis of output prediction. A sufficient condition based on sampling interval is established such that the state of observer converge to system's state. Moreover, based on theory of Yang inequality and Lyapunov method,a piecewise continuous control protocol is provided to solve the stability problem of the systems. Finally, a simulation example is provided to illustrate our established result.

Nonparametric frequency response function (FRF) estimates are a standard tool to get quickly insight into the dynamic behavior of complex systems. However, in quite some applications the time-invariance assumption is not exactly met. Therefore, it is important to detect and quantify the deviation from the ideal time-invariant framework that is inherent to the concept of an FRF. In this paper we present a new (direct) method for estimating the best linear time-invariant approximation of a linear time-variant system, and compare it with an existing indirect approach.

Model reference adaptive control system design for linear time-varying systems with unstructured and bounded varying functions

In recent years, many methods of model reference adaptive control system (MRACS) for a linear time-varying (LTV) plant have been proposed. These methods assumed that the structure of plant parameters is known in advance. However it is difficult to get a priori information of plant parameters. In this paper, an MRACS design for an LTV system based on high-order estimator (HOE) is proposed. By applying dynamic certainty equivalence (DyCE) to LTV plants, a new MRAC law of LTV system is derived without knowing the structure of the plant parameters. The MRACS law is generated by using high-order derivatives of an estimated parameter, so that robust HOE with a normalization signal and sigma modification for the system introduced. Our proposed method can attain better performance than conventional methods, such as estimation with variable forgetting factor (VF) and the gradient projection method (GPM). The robust HOE establishes the boundedness of all of the estimated parameters under the condition that the estimated parameter and the first derivative of the parameter are bounded. It is shown that all signals in the adaptive loop are bounded and the output error converges to a closed set. The proposed method is compared to the familiar schemes, the gradient projection method and the estimation based on forgetting factor through numerical simulations, and the effectiveness of our proposed method is shown. A decomposition of a given linear time-varying singular control system is developed by defining the output-nulling space with respect to a given output structure. Relevant sub-spaces and the dynamics on them are described by computable projection operators obtained from information in the system's derivative array. The relevant projectors are generated as solutions of a homogeneous linear matrix-differential equation. An algorithm for obtaining the system decomposition is outlined in a pointwise manner.

In the past, the Best linear Approximation (BLA) has proven to be a good tool for the identification (generation of initial estimates) of several nonlinear model structures. However, in case of high nonlinear distortion levels, the measurement time can become very high (high number of realizations M) to reduce the uncertainty of the BLA to a reasonable level. Moreover, a number of existing methods are based on C (>= 2) different BLAs (corresponding to C different classes of input signals). The total number of experiments is given by the product MC. In this paper, a novel approach is proposed to reduce the number of experiments to one by combining recently developed tools for linear time-varying systems and (slowly) nonstationary inputs. In particular, it will be shown how an input signal with a time-varying standard deviation (or set point) allows one to extract all corresponding BLAs in a single experiment. These BLAs can be used to generate high-quality initial estimates of nonlinear block-structures. The results are supported by numerical simulation experiments.

This article investigates the nonasymptotic and robust distributed algebraic state estimation for linear time-varying systems using a network of sensors in noisy environments. First, at each sensor node, the system state is transformed into a linear combination of a group of nodes' local observable states, allowing for distributed estimation by estimating a reduced-order state for each node. Second, without requiring initial conditions, the estimation scheme based on generalized modulating functions is employed to estimate each node's local observable state variables through algebraic integral formulas, which are robust against corrupting noises. Subsequently, leveraging the obtained distributed state expression and cross-agent communications with networked delays, a nonasymptotic and robust distributed state estimator is designed. Furthermore, an estimation error bound in noisy cases is provided. Finally, two simulation examples are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of our proposed approach.

In this paper, the prescribed-time fault-tolerant control for multiple input multiple output (MIMO) linear time-varying (LTV) systems is investigated. Both lexicographically fixed and non-lexicographically fixed LTV systems have been considered. By leveraging the special structure of the controllable canonical form and employing the properties of the parametric Lyapunov equation, a global prescribed-time fault-tolerant controller is designed. With the aid of a suitable Lyapunov-like function, it is demonstrated that the state can converge to zero within the prescribed time. The convergence time is independent of the initial condition. In addition, the designed controller is continuous, bounded, and even maintains a linear and concise form. Ultimately, the effectiveness of the controller is verified through the simulation of the elliptical orbital rendezvous system.
