In the paper an implementation of mobile nodes tracking system based on ZigBee and Wi-Fi wireless networks is presented. On the base of known algorithmic as well as circuit solutions a simple yet universal system, applied in prototype application dedicated for person's localization in museum premises has been developed. Since system utilizes entirely wireless communication, it can be applied in any closed objects. The system has been preliminarily verified in real in-situ environment. (C) 2016 Elsevier B.V. This paper presents an interpolation operator on unstructured triangular meshes that verifies the properties of mass conservation, P-1-exactness (order 2), and maximum principle. This operator is important for the resolution of the conservation laws in computational fluid dynamics by means of mesh adaptation methods as the conservation properties are not verified throughout the computation. Indeed, the mass preservation can be crucial for the simulation accuracy. The conservation properties are achieved by local mesh intersection and quadrature formulae. Derivatives reconstruction are used to obtain an order 2 method. algorithmically, our goal is to design a method that is robust and efficient. The robustness is mandatory to apply the operator to highly anisotropic meshes. The efficiency will permit the extension of the method to dimension 3. Several numerical examples are presented to illustrate the efficiency of the approach. Copyright (C) 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

This study is focused on the problem of robot interaction with dynamically changing environment for contact and non-contact operations. Robot reaction is based on classification the results, obtained from force sensors. Particular attention is paid to the problem of contact localization in the case of single and multi-contact collisions. localization algorithms presented for simplified shapeless model of the robot and more complex model that's also consider real shape of the robot links. Fast direction of arrival estimation method for ultra-high voltage converter valve insulation board partial discharge based on a sparse array

An insulation board is an important insulator used between damping capacitors in a converter valve. The potential creeping discharge phenomenon on the insulation board will affect the insulation between the damping capacitors and even the safe operation of the converter valve;therefore, a modified chaos particle swarm optimization multiple signal classification (MCSPO-MUSIC) localization algorithm based on a sparse array was proposed. The performance of the localization algorithm and the sparse array was analyzed by MATLAB simulation, and a test platform was established to detect the insulation board discharge position localization. The simulation results showed that the calculation time of this algorithm is about 1.5 s, which is an order of magnitude less than traditional MUSIC algorithm, and it is found that when the sparsity of the 4 x 4 array is 4 (the sparse array elements are 5, 9, 14 and 15), the localization accuracy remains high. Ten groups of experimental data were put into the MCSPO-MUSIC algorithm;the root mean square errors (RMSE) of the localization errors are 1.91 degrees (non-sparse array) and 3.12 degrees (sparse array), respectively. Finally, the blind source separation algorithm was used to remove the field noise, which verifies the algorithm and sparse concept accurate and economical in practical application.

A method is proposed for stabilization of uncertain discrete-time plants of which only compact sets are known to which plant parameters and exogenous perturbations belong. The parametric family of feedbacks is quantified and subsequently a stabilizing feedback is localized on the resultant finite discrete set by using on-line measurements of the state path. This method is termed locatization. Its salient features are quantification and the localization algorithm. Three localization procedures are described which are used under various assumptions on the form of the uncertainty. Solvability conditions are provided for the stabilization problem and estimates of transient processes are reported.

A hop-count based positioning algorithm for wireless ad-hoc networks

We propose a range-free localization algorithm for a wireless ad-hoc network utilizing the hop-count metric's ability to indicate proximity to anchors (i.e., nodes with known positions). In traditional sense, hop-count generally means the number of intermediate routers a datagram has to go through between its source and the destination node. We analytically show that hop-count could be used to indicate proximity relative to an anchor node. Our proposed algorithm is computationally feasible for resource constrained wireless ad-hoc nodes, and gives reasonable accuracy. We perform both real experiments and simulations to evaluate the algorithm's performance. Experimental results show that our algorithm outperforms similar proximity based algorithms utilizing received signal strength and expected transmission count. We also analyze the impact of various parameters like the number of anchor nodes, placements of anchor nodes and varying transmission powers of the nodes on the hop-count based localization algorithm's performance through simulation.

An Improved 2D Triangulation algorithm for Use With Linear Arrays

When localization is required to offer location-based services in user-centered applications, then (acoustic) angle-of-arrival (AOA) can be an energy efficient and user friendly option. Previous research has always assumed that a priori knowledge can be used to select the correct angles out of a set of possible values as an input to the AOA localization algorithm. In this paper, we propose an algorithm that is able to perform this selection automatically with a high chance of selecting the correct values. Even for an increasing standard deviation on the measured angles, the localization accuracy of the proposed algorithm is able to compete with an algorithm that does the selection based on a priori knowledge.

This review article focuses on the Underwater Wireless Sensor Network (U0s) based on localization and routing. Moreover, this review mainly incorporates several research articles based on the date of publication, domains, journals, authors, and methodologies utilized for studies. The results discussed in this work are solely based on prior published research-based information obtained. The research articles are searched and utilized from 2014 to 2021 from different resources. In the localization have several techniques and algorithm with numerous features namely accuracy, capability of resource, and deployment restriction. then, the routing based on the various approaches and algorithm with several parameters like energy consumption, packet delivery ratio, network lifetime, and so on., are reviewed. Here many of the machine learning techniques are highly focused in UWSNs. This work provides a better understanding of Underwater Wireless Sensor Network;therefore, an effective technique can be compared and achieved in terms of better performance.

Ultrasonic Device-Free localization System Using Orthogonal Chirp-Based Multistatic Sonar

Indoor device-free localization (DFL) systems offer an alternative paradigm to traditional location, in which the target to be located does not need to carry any sensor, tag, or electronic device. In contrast to most popular DFL systems, which are based on radio frequency technologies, ultrasonic signals have been used in this work, due to their good accuracy results, to estimate the 3-D position of a person's head. For this purpose, a four-emitter and a single-receiver multistatic sonar installed overhead has been employed. The emission signals follow a time division orthogonal chirp division multiplexing (TD-OCDM) access technique to obtain a 300 ms update time and asynchronous operation. The signals propagated in the indoor space are acquired by the receiver and processed. A sign-data least mean square (SD-LMS) adaptive filter algorithm has been applied in order to remove the background components on the received signal. Then, a specific window from the resulting clean signal is employed to determine the reflected signal at the target time-of-arrival (ToA) by using an adaptive threshold. The ToA obtained, together with the direct path ToA between emitters and the receiver, provide ranges to compute the target location using a localization algorithm. A simulator was used to analyze the proposal, estimating the coverage area of the system at 3.14 m(2). Several experiments have been performed with a single user placing the multistatic sonar at heights of 2.60 and 2.80 m above the floor within the coverage area. The results achieved positioning errors lower than 9 cm for the 2.60-m height and 11.6 cm at 2.80 m in 90% of the cases.

Efficient and accurate localization of partial discharge (PD) is of paramount importance to ensure the safe operation of power transformers. However, the multi-path propagation effect introduced by the reflection, refraction and diffraction of the ultrasonic signal may add significant computational complexity to the localization process and degrade the localization accuracy. This paper proposes an acoustic- electrical joint method for partial discharge location in the power transformer with the full consideration of the multi-path propagation impact. Unlike the conventional error analysis methods, a partial discharge localization model is proposed for characterizing the multipath propagation impact without the prior knowledge of the transcendental error probability. Based on the matrix inequality transformation and relaxation, the high-dimensional nonlinear localization equations are transformed into a set of second-order convex optimization equations that can be solved using the convex second-order cone program (SOCP). The proposed solution can significantly reduce the computational complexity and improve the localization accuracy as well as avoid the local optimum and slow convergence. The solution is assessed through extensive experiments based on simulations, testbed and trial deployment in comparison with the existing solutions with the localization error of about 0.1 m.
