Compared with a single drone, the bee swarm unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs) have a higher fault tolerance and mission accomplished rate. However, When the UAVs under a complex environment with electromagnetic interference, the communication connections will be interfered greatly, so the position information exchanging unable to work normally. The ultraviolet communication in this article has the advantages of non-line-of-sight, all-weather, and strong anti-interference ability. The structure of the ultraviolet beacon is designed to improve the communication quality and positioning capabilities of the bee swarm UAVs in electromagnetic interference. By building a flight guidance tracking error model and improving the performance of leader-follower algorithm, it is possible to solve the issue of large error feedback during the assembly of bee swarm UAVs. Finally, through simulation experiments to verify the accuracy of the above analysis.

Ultra Wideband solves the major problems of traditional wireless technology in communication. In this paper, a UWB positioning model based on the mixed algorithm of TOA(time of arrival), RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indication)and TDOA(Time Difference of Arrival) is proposed, and the computer simulation is carried out. The initial value which is closer to the real value is obtained by the TOA mixed RSSI method. Then the initial value is brought into the Taylor algorithm of TDOA, which solves the problem that the Taylor algorithm is not *** the simulation results show that the hybrid algorithm is more accurate when the SNR is high and the number of nodes is high.

In this paper a node localization algorithm for estimating unknown node positions in wireless sensor networks is presented. The proposed algorithm is based on the distributed clustering of anchor-free nodes. In the absence of anchor nodes, clusters of these sensors are formed and relevant angular and distance measurements are taken. This is followed by two phases of nodes synchronization, in which gradual adjustments of orientation and coordinates are performed utilizing a technique similar to the time synchronization. As the final synchronization process converges, clusters coordinates are merged into a unified global coordinate system, thus completing the node localization task. Experiments show that, in the case of randomly distributed nodes, the proposed algorithm achieves good performance in the areas of improved network coverage, minimized positioning error rate, and reduced communication overhead. Data show an improvement of 51.3% in network coverage in comparison to other industry-leading clustering algorithms. In addition, when the network node density is greater than 0.9, positioning error rate is reduced by an average of 22.3%.

Active-feedback 3D single-particle tracking in complex environments is limited to bright slow-moving subjects. Extending this technique to include complex background environments requires the development of particle localization strategies that can account for changing particle and background intensities. In previously reported simulations, 2D tracking utilizing combined online Bayesian with estimation of background and signal (COBWEBS) position estimation yielded improved stability in complex background environments for a variety of particle intensities, diffusive speeds, and patterns. Here, COBWEBS' improved stability in spatially dependent backgrounds is demonstrated to extend to 3D tracking in numerical simulations. In even background tracking, 3D implementations including COBWEBS estimation show slightly reduced position estimation errors and similar tracking accuracy to traditional Kalman estimation. Uneven background tracking shows improved tracking stability for COBWEBS estimation along XY paired with conventional Kalman estimation. Pairing COBWEBSXY with COBWEBS adapted to the Z axis further improves performance in limited cases. In 3D, the windowed signal and background estimation approach remains proportionally responsive to changing particle and background intensities but systematically underestimates true signal values. Overall, COBWEBS' improved stability in 3D complex environments should expand the application scope of active-feedback single-particle tracking approaches.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) is a new type of flying work tool with the ability to execute tasks. Under strong electromagnetic interference, communication can be carried out by ultraviolet (UV).Ultraviolet Communication was a communication mode used 200nm similar to 280nm wavelength ultraviolet light as an information carrier. It has the advantage of all-weather operations, non-line-of-sight (NLOS) communication and strong anti- interference. When performing a mission, the UAV formation usually needs to form a fixed formation during the flight to ensure the stability of the link communication network. Moreover, due to the limited energy carried by the UAV, the energy consumption of UAV network should be reduced as much as possible on the basis of maintaining communication in order to maximize the flight time of UAV. The UAVs form persistent formation that need to know the location information of all the UAVs in the formation. When the GPS is not working properly, a kind of two dimensional (2D) localization algorithm which based on the wireless UV ranging method provides relative location information for the UAV formation. This paper proposes a persistent formation generation algorithm for the location information of UAVs that are not shared, the algorithm enables the UAV formation to generate a stable network topology with the least communication links and low energy consumption.

The locations of sensor nodes are essential to Wireless Sensor Networks applications. Researchers have proposed many localization algorithms for Wireless Sensor Network and verified them through simulators. In this paper, a system-level node location model that aims to validate proposed algorithms for wireless sensor networks in Matlab environment is proposed. This model can reflect the reality networks effectively. Using this model, researchers can verify the performance of the localization algorithms including run time, location error, and location node numbers.

In wireless network, localization using location fingerprint is promising. This technique generally utilizes location characteristics based on received signal strength. In this paper, we propose a novel location fingerprint using location characteristics in multipath propagation and a corresponding model. From the model, a localization algorithm is derived. Further, we analyze the Cramer-Rao bound of the proposed location fingerprint and correct estimation probability of the algorithm. The former is a lower bound of error variance for any unbiased localization algorithm using the measurements and the latter is a performance indicator of the proposed algorithm. We hope the results are helpful in designing relevant localization systems and conducting practical experiments.

Radiation detectors are essential for upholding nuclear security and safety. The main objective of this study is to design and develop a new radiation detection system that can locate the position of a radioactive source using Geiger-Muller (GM) detectors. Three GM detectors are utilized in this system, with their relative angles known. The system collects data on radiation exposure levels in the immediate area surrounding the GM detectors and sends it to a Raspberry Pi 4 processor. After that, a MATLAB algorithm analyzes the data using localization methods to determine the source direction. To provide a user-friendly experience when using the system, a graphical user interface (GUI) was designed and implemented to be used with the system. The benefit of the localization methods that can be applied with MATLAB algorithms is that they offer great accuracy, rapid response, and low cost. The methods can be applied in fields like environmental monitoring, homeland security, and nuclear power plant safety, in addition to locating lost radioactive materials and other radiation security and safety concerns. An experimental setup is prepared to test the radiation detection system in a laboratory environment. A Cs-137-point source was used to study the system response. The results show that the system can detect a point source accurately when the source is stationary, while the location is not as accurate while the source is moving.

Information about the whereabouts of oneself or our cell phones has always been crucial to humans. Technological advancements have supported us across various domains, spanning from interior environments to outdoor global positioning systems. However, achieving real-time indoor positioning has remained a formidable task. The requirement for enhanced positioning has gained prominence in the context of the emergence of 6G cellular networks. The introduction of novel radio technologies, characterized by reduced end-to-end latency, specialized control protocols, and increased processing capacity at the network edge, has opened doors to harnessing the 6G cellular network's full potential for precise localization in indoor and outdoor settings. Within the 6G cellular network context, this study successfully implemented the classic signal fingerprinting approach using the Received Signal Strength Indicator in combination with machine learning algorithms. Consequently, it proposed an improved positioning strategy designed for indoor localization scenarios in the next 6G cellular network environment. Using this method, with two datasets, the mean error distance of 0.08025523, meaning an accuracy of 99.92% and 0.10692412 was achieved, which is 99.89% accuracy. © 2023 IEEE.

Indoor positioning system is a key component for developing various location based services such as indoor navigation in large complex buildings (e.g., commercial center and hospital). Meanwhile, it is challenging to design a cost effective solution which is able to provide high accuracy. A new method, namely Two-Step Movement (2SM), was proposed in [1] to demonstrate how to build a positioning system which requires only one Reference Point (RP) by exploiting user movement. The method can offer good precision and minimize the number of RPs required so as to reduce system implementation cost. Built on 2SM, here we first improve the positioning performance through multi-sampling technique to combat measurement noise. Secondly, we propose the Generalized Two-Step Movement (G2SM) method for device-to-device (D2D) systems in which both the mobile terminal (MT) and RP can be mobile device. The mobile user's position can be derived analytically and given in simple closed-form expression. Its effectiveness in the presence of noise is shown in simulation results.
