In this paper, empirical study on evolution of motivation of foreign investors' merger and acquisition was carried out around the typical case of foreign investors' M&A. Corporate quetionaire and logistic regression model were used to analyze. The result shows that the motivation of FIMA in China has gradually change, which is not for low-priced labor force and achievement shared in stockholding way, but for realization of company's intention of global strategic layout to pursue industry integration, resource controls, monopoly status and the eradication of potential competitors, etc. The level of intensity of foreign investors' strategic M&A has increased. foreign investors'M&A are transferring gradually from single and scattered modes to more systematic ones.

This paper provides a novel and efficient method for predicting potential customer churn from imbalanced data set of Orange Telecom and UCI. Customer churn is always a rare event, but it is necessary to be paid attention. The main intended contribution of this paper is to apply binary logistic regression model (LRM), which seldom be used in the problem of imbalanced data prediction. The parameters estimated for the data gathered with serious problem of imbalance, therefore we take stratified sampling method, and improve traditional logistic regression model parameters estimated methods. The experimental results show that our prediction method performs satisfactorily, and it can be effective to forecast the telecom customer churn.

In the non-fatal vehicle-pedestrian accidents,lower extremity injuries are the most common injury *** order to investigate the lower extremity injury risks using real world accident data,a subsample of 371 cases with pedestrian lower extremity AIS1+injuries from GIDAS database,were used to conduct statistical ***,the logistic regression models of the risks for lower extremity AIS2+injuries and tibia/fibula fractures were developed by means of vehicle impact speed and pedestrian *** results revealed that impact speed and age were the two statistically significant predictors for pedestrians sustaining lower extremity AIS2+injuries and tibia/fibula *** the selected sample,the lower extremity AIS2+injury risk is 50%probability at impact speed of 46.3km/*** tibia/fibula fracture injury risks are 50%and 20%at impact speed of 64.6km/h and 42.6km/h,*** of injury increases with increasing of impact speed as well as does age was also found according to the data analysis.

Education is an important way for children in low-income families to change their social status. In order to quantitatively investigate the intergenerational transmission of education in China, an empirical study based on the CSPF2014 data on the effect of family income on the academic achievement of children was done, after controlling the education of parents, father's age, residence and the number of family members. OLS and logistic regression models were used to analyze the influence of family income on children's academic achievement. The results show that family income has a significant influence on children's education level, and the increasing family income can improve their education level;the phenomenon of intergenerational transmission of education is not obvious, and the intergenerational mobility is good. It is also found that although the total sample and urban samples showed the level of family income has no significant influence on academic achievement of children, but in rural families, the increasing income does play a greater role in enhancing children's education level, which provides suggestions for China's education reform accordingly.

We examine the issue of student dropout rates by developing a method to classify students as being in either a "preliminary dropout" state or a "normal" state based on the student's learning data (student history, GPA, etc.). A preliminary dropout state is a state in which it is likely that the student will drop out but has not yet done so;a normal state is a state in which the student is not likely to drop out. Although dropout commonly results once a student is in the preliminary dropout state, there are cases where making an effective qualitative change can produce a return to the normal state. It is important to ensure the infrared detectors will work properly in practical application,so a series of tests must be carried out before putting them into application. In order to reduce test cost, this paper proposed a two-stage failure prediction model for infrared detectors during tests based on the logistic regression model. The solution has shown significant business values. With only the first three test stages' data, under the condition that 99% of the normal detectors are classified as normal products, we can screen out 54.55% of the detectors which will fail before the last vacuum test. Furthermore, in the second stage prediction, we can screen out 80% of the final failure detectors.
