Short-term load forecasting (STLF) is an important problem in the operation of electrical power generation and transmission. In this paper, STLF algorithm was developed for electrical power systems using,mathematical programming with Matlab. A fast and efficient computational algorithm has been obtained for STLF. The mean absolute percentage errors (MAPE) of daily loads forecast and weekly loads forecast for Turkey are found as 1,76%, 1,92%, respectively.

Previous discussions of methods for the efficient allocation of health care resources subject to a budget constraint have relied on unnecessarily restrictive assumptions. This paper makes use of established optimization techniques to demonstrate that a general mathematical programming framework can accommodate much more complex information regarding returns to scale, partial and complete indivisibility and program interdependence. Methods are also presented for incorporating ethical constraints into the resource allocation process, including explicit identification of the cost of equity.

Real world Multi-Vehicle Motion Planning (MVMP) problems require the optimization of suitable performance measures under an array of complex and challenging constraints involving kinematics, dynamics, communication connectivity, target tracking, and collision avoidance. The general MVMP problem can thus be formulated as a mathematical program (MP). In this paper we present a mathematical programming (MP) framework that captures the salient features of the general MVMP problem. To demonstrate the use of this framework for the formulation and solution of MVMP problems, we examine in detail four representative works and summarize several other related works. As MP solution algorithms and associated numerical solvers continue to develop, we anticipate that MP solution techniques will be applied to an increasing number of MVMP problems and that the framework and formulations presented in this paper may serve as a guide for future MVMP research.

This paper deals with mathematical programming model of city and urban traffic. The aim of our research is to aquire ideal images of city and urban traffic for various purpose. To achieve the aim, we propose optimization models which consist of city, mobilities and inhabitants in the first place. Two kinds of models distinguished by accuracy and computation time are proposed. One is relatively accurate but takes a lot of time to compute. The other is less accurate, however, larger size instances can be computed. To confirm the proposed models, several scenarios which have excessive conditions are examined.

When using product reliability data, it is desirable to apply the results to improving the product, rather than simply accumulating and reporting statistics. The engineering function with responsibility for cost and performance of the product must assign priorities to machine improvements, and still stay within the limitations of manpower, budgets, and equipment availability. A technique is developed for analyzing reliability data, and then applied the results of the analysis to a machine and reliability improvement program, utilizing zero-one programming methods. The data analysis produces a plan for product design improvements, consideration of resource limitations, time for implementation, reliability improvements, and rate of return from expenditures.
