B-ITO: A matlab toolbox for isogeometric topology optimization with Bezier extraction of NURBS

The Bezier extraction can decompose the NURBS-based isogeometric analysis (IGA) elements into a series of Bezier elements with C0 continuity, which is considered into developing a higher efficient isogeometric topology optimization (ITO) method. The main focus of the current work is to develop a matlab toolbox for isogeometric topology optimization (ITO) with the Bezier extraction of NURBS, termed by the B-ITO. An isogeometric Bezier element data structure is constructed using the extraction operator, which keeps an analogous structure of classic finite element methods (FEM). It can effectively ensure the IGA to be easily integrated into the existing FEM codes with a little modification, which can also promote the development of the ITO in several problems using existing FEMs and topology optimization codes. The B-ITO toolbox mainly consists of the following modules: MODEL, PREIGA, BOUND, EXTRABEZIER2D, SHAPE2D, STIFFBEZ2D, SHEPHARD, ASSEMBLE2D, SOLVE, PLOT and OC. It allows engineers and researchers to easily perform optimization problems in the toolbox with direct modifications of the related modules for design objectives. Moreover, a much higher efficient version of the BITO with a module STIFFBER2D is proposed for the rectangular design domains with the help of the local persevering property of the Bernstein basis function space, which can to a great extent reduce the computational cost. Finally, several numerical examples are discussed using the B-ITO to demonstrate its effectiveness and efficiency.

We present MagAnalyst, a user-friendly matlab toolbox that simplifies the fitting process of anhysteretic magnetization curves using the Langevin-Weiss equation of state. This toolbox follows the framework proposed by Silveyra and Conde Garrido, allowing for the characterization of anisotropic materials using a negative Weiss' molecular field constant and the characterization of inhomogeneous materials through multicomponent magnetizations. Our work demonstrates that MagAnalyst can provide reliable and accurate solutions, while also enabling the retrieval of important quantities such as the anisotropy mean field and the induced anisotropy energy constant. By freely distributing this toolbox (https://***/matias-gonz/maganalyst/), we aim to offer a valuable resource for studying and understanding the magnetic properties of soft magnets, ultimately contributing to the development of advanced magnetic devices.

We introduce MagAnalyst, a user-friendly matlab toolbox designed to streamline the fitting process of anhysteretic magnetization curves using the Langevin-Weiss equation of state. Built upon the framework proposed by Silveyra and Conde Garrido, our toolbox facilitates the description of magnetically anisotropic materials through negative molecular fields and magnetically inhomogeneous materials through multicomponent magnetizations. This study showcases the reliability and accuracy of MagAnalyst, enabling the direct extraction of key parameters such as the anisotropy mean field and the induced anisotropy energy constant. Geological bodies prone to disasters, such as glaciers, landslides, and land subsidence, undergo threedimensional (3-D) movement. Spaceborne Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites commonly capture relative directional motion for Earth observation. However, this begs the question of how to track the 3-D movement of geological bodies. Presented here, the 3-D Deformation Inversion toolbox matlab-based concurrently processes ascending and descending SAR-derived datasets acquired from either Pixel Offset Tracking (POT) or Differential Interferometric SAR (DInSAR) methodology, in addition, generates long-term 3-D deformation and interactive point time series and line section information, also dynamic map visualizations. It is the ability to calculate the least squares solution using truncated or multi-order Tikhonov regularized Singular Value Decomposition (SVD). Three various scenarios are employed to assess processing capabilities. The L-curve method finds the optimal calculation parameters tailored to various objects. The toolbox's effectiveness and applicability enhance the potential for evolutionary dynamic analysis in geoscience.

The conformal mapping function from the interior of the complex plane's unit circle to the exterior of any simple closed curve on the real plane finds widespread applications, including the use of complex variable methods in elasticity studies. Our matlab toolbox employs numerical methods to solve such conformal mapping functions, applicable to physical domains featuring simple closed curves of arbitrary shapes, and even extending to slit-like structures. Featuring a user-friendly GUI program, the toolbox efficiently computes conformal mapping functions, streamlining the solving process.

This paper presents Batch OpenSim Processing Scripts (BOPS), a matlab toolbox for batch processing common OpenSim procedures: Inverse Kinematics, Inverse Dynamics, Muscle Analysis, Static Optimization, and Joint Reaction Analysis. BOPS is an easy-to-use and highly configurable tool that aims to reduce the time required to process large datasets, thus fostering the adoption of musculoskeletal modeling and simulations in daily practice. Its graphical user interface includes pre-defined setup files and has been designed to fulfill the needs of different research projects by simplifying the customization of the procedures, facilitating the analysis, and boosting research group collaborations. BOPS is released under Apache License 2.0, and its source code is freely available on SimTK and GitHub.

Background and Objective: A new direction in the study of motor control was opened about two decades ago with the introduction of a model for the generation of motor commands as combination of muscle synergies. Muscle synergies provide a simple yet quantitative framework for analyzing the hierarchical and modular architecture of the human motor system. However, to gain insights on the functional role of muscle synergies, they should be related to the task space. The recently introduced mixed -matrix factorization (MMF) algorithm extends the standard approach for synergy extraction based on non -negative matrix factorization (NMF) allowing to factorize data constituted by a mixture of non -negative variables (e.g. EMGs) and unconstrained variables (e.g. kinematics, naturally including both positive and negative values). The kinematic -muscular synergies identified by MMF provide a direct link between muscle synergies and the task space . In this contribution, we support the adoption of MMF through a matlab toolbox for the extraction of kinematic -muscular synergies and a set of practical guidelines to allow biomedical researchers and clinicians to exploit the potential of this novel approach. Methods: MMF is implemented in the SynergyAnalyzer toolbox using an object -oriented approach. In addition to the MMF algorithm, the toolbox includes standard methods for synergy extraction (NMF and PCA), as well as methods for pre-processing EMG and kinematic data, and for plotting data and synergies. Results: As an example of MMF application, kinematic -muscular synergies were extracted from EMG and kinematic data collected during reaching movements towards 8 targets on the sagittal plane. Instructions and command lines to achieve such results are illustrated in detail. The toolbox has been released as an open -source software on GitHub under the GNU General Public License. Modified State Class Graph collects in a compact form the main information on all the possible evolutions of a given labeled TPN system initialized at a given marking. Recently, it has been used to solve different problems, in particular supervisor control synthesis, state estimation and system validation. It employs a symbolic characterization of the firing time intervals of the enabled transitions. The Graphical User Interface (GUI) MarineEpi is presented as a matlab toolbox for easily (i) constructing disease transmission models for different marine host-pathogen systems, (ii) running simulations by specifying initial conditions and model parameters, and (iii) interpreting the resulting time series of the host and pathogen population dynamics. MarineEpi users can generate models for systems in which pathogen transmission occurs through contact with infected individuals (SI), contact with dead infected individuals (SID), contact with environmental pathogens released by infected individuals (SIP), and contact with environmental pathogens released by dead infected individuals (SIPD). MarineEpi is a freely available GUI that provides the capability for marine disease researchers and managers to understand disease dynamics processes and mechanisms using a quantitative modeling framework. In addition, it can be a valuable learning tool for teaching marine disease processes in engineering, environmental science and epidemiology curricula.(c) 2023 The Author(s). Paleomagnetic measurements of rock magnetizations are typically performed using classical net moment rock magnetometers on bulk, millimeter- to centimeter-sized samples. In this case, the limited spatial resolution effectively averages across the signal of multiple populations of magnetic grains, each of which may have a distinct geological history. Magnetic field imaging with the quantum diamond microscope (QDM) allows for the measurement of weakly magnetic (10(-16) Am-2) samples at micrometer spatial resolution, potentially isolating the signal of magnetic grain populations and resolving ambiguities from bulk sample analyses. To achieve such high resolution, the QDM retrieves the energy spectrum of nitrogen-vacancy (NV) color centers within micrometer-scale pixels across a millimeter-scale field of view. Therefore, large amounts of data need to be processed to generate a magnetic field map, which itself often requires further specialized analysis. Until now, no freely-available, comprehensive, open-source software package existed that was able to process this type of data. Here we give an overview of the most important features of QDMlab, our open-source matlab toolbox for generating and analyzing QDM magnetic field maps of geologic samples. *** utilizes modern computational techniques like graphics processing unit (GPU) and spectral fitting routines as well as automated image alignment algorithms. QDMlab contains easy-to-use functions for (1) generating magnetic field maps from raw QDM data, (2) map editing, and (3) quantifying the net magnetic moment and rock magnetic properties of rock and mineral samples.
