A self-triggered model predictive control (mpc) scheme for continuous-time perturbed nonlinear systems subject to bounded disturbances is investigated in this study. A self-triggered strategy is designed to obtain the inter-execution time before the next trigger using the current sampled state. An optimisation problem is addressed to obtain the optimal control trajectory at each triggered instant. The so-called dual-mode approach is used to stabilise the perturbed closed-loop system. Furthermore, sufficient conditions are derived to ensure the feasibility and stability, respectively. It is shown that with a properly designed prediction horizon, the feasibility of the proposed self-triggered mpc algorithm can be guaranteed if the disturbance is bounded in a small enough area. Meanwhile, the stability is proved under the self-triggered condition. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the efficacy of the authors proposed scheme.

The structure of the stack cooling system has been redesigned to combine the high heat dissipation efficiency of the large-small cycle system and the low maintenance cost of the internal-external cycle system. Four temperature control strategies for the cooling system were proposed and tested on the stack test platform. The results show that the strategy of controlling the pump flow rate through feedforward with flow following current and Model Predictive Control(mpc) algorithm feedback, and controlling the opening of the radiator fan through Proportion Integration Differentiation(PID) algorithm feedback, is the most effective. This strategy can control the maximum temperature difference between the coolant inlet and outlet at approximately 1.14 degrees C. It also allows for quicker adjustment of the coolant temperature to the target value when the load changes, with an adjustment time reduced to about 9 s and a steady state error lower than 0.51 degrees C.

This paper presents a lithium-ion battery pack equalization system and method. The batteries are divided into several groups, which are connected in parallel with the bidirectional DC-DC converters respectively, and the output of DC-DC converters ends are connected in series with each other as a DC bus. The scheme divides equalization of the cells into two stages: intra-group equalization and inter-group equalization, and the two stages are respectively realized by battery time-sharing-access structure and stack energy-sharing structure. Then equalization strategy of the distributed battery energy storage system under two stages is proposed, especially the Single Cell Battery Access Timing algorithm and mpc algorithm. The simulation results show that the proposed battery management structure and control strategy can realize fast and accurate SOC equalization.

This paper presents a stabilizing Model Predictive Control (mpc) algorithm based on the off-line computation of a sequence of 1-step controllable sets and a condition that enables flexible, non-monotone convergence towards a suitably chosen terminal set. Such an off-line computed sequence of sets leads to a large region where the mpc algorithm is feasible, regardless of the length of the prediction horizon, while the non-monotone convergence condition is used to improve performance. Both stability and recursive feasibility are guaranteed by construction. The benefits of such an approach are shown in illustrative examples.

According to greater distortion of local stress calculated in the slider joint for solid-webbed telescopic jib caused by previous simplified way, this paper puts forward to 3 x 2 kinds of different treatment ways: three kinds of ways dealing with fixed junction surfaces namely the coplanar way, mpc algorithm and node coupling, two kinds of ways dealing with the corresponding sliding contact surfaces such as linear node coupling and contact nonlinear analysis. Regard the structure of solid-webbed telescopic jib with elliptical cross section as research object;analyze its feasibility and rationality of six kinds of treatment ways comparatively combining results by means of FEA software ANSYS and strength calculation theory in the overlapping and non-overlapping zones on simplification basis of the actual conditions of jib. It is found that the model's FEA results with the coplanar way in the fixed junction surfaces occur serious distortion phenomenon through the whole analysis and comparison, which the degree of distortion reaches 354.5%, indicating that this treatment way has failed;The FEA results of model which sliding contact surfaces are disposed of contact nonlinear analysis are greater than the results of model which sliding contact surfaces are disposed of linear node coupling, there is no stress concentration phenomenon in this kind of treatment way, the simulation results are safer than before, and it is more consistent with the actual contact condition. Due to the contact analysis is a kind of nonlinear analysis behaviour which needs more computer resource. Therefore, the actual calculation results can be obtained more actually and economically if the node coupling is adapted to the slider joint while computer resource is nervous.

This paper describes a nonlinear Model Predictive Control (mpc) algorithm with on-line optimal linearisation. Unlike the classical mpc algorithms with successive model linearisation at the current operating point of the process (using the Taylor's series expansion), the best possible linear approximation of the nonlinear predicted output trajectory is repeatedly found in the discussed approach. The algorithm is computationally efficient, because it requires solving linear equations and quadratic optimisation problems. It is demonstrated that for a benchmark system the described mpc algorithm gives significantly better control quality than the classical mpc approach with model linearisation.

The application of automatic control to irrigation canals is an important means of improving the efficiency of water delivery. The Middle Route Project (MRP) for South-to-North Water Transfer, the largest water transfer project in China, is currently under manual control. Given the complexity of the MRP, there is an urgent need to adopt some form of automatic control. This paper describes the application of model predictive control (mpc), a popular real time control algorithm particularly suited to the automatic control of multi-pool irrigation water delivery systems, to the MRP using a linear control model. This control system is tested in part of the MRP by means of numerical simulations. The results show that the control system can deal with both known and unknown disturbances, albeit with a degree of resonance in some short pools. However, it takes a long time for the MRP to reach a stable state under the mpc system and the calculation time for the whole MRP network would be too long to satisfy the requirements of real-time control. Suggestions are presented for the construction of an automatic control system for the MRP.

The vehicle model was built based on MATLAB/Simulink and Carsim, and the multi-objective active collision avoidance control algorithm considering safety and comfort was established based on a model predictive control (mpc) algorithm. The vehicle active collision avoidance control system for comfort and safety was studied by simulation and experimentation. The results show that the active collision avoidance control system based on an mpc algorithm can follow the vehicle under different working conditions and ensure the safety and comfort in the process of following the vehicle while meeting the requirements of the active collision avoidance control system.
