The ability of an autonomous vehicle to detect its immediate surroundings is of paramountimportance for its successful operation in cluttered environments. This research describesan obstacle detection algorithm for an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) suitable forapplications where non-visual mapping techniques may perform poorly. Feature-pointdetection and mapping using a monocular vision sensor is a particularly attractivehardware choice for this application due to its relative simplicity, economy of scale, andcost. Although many visual mapping techniques currently exist, limited focus has beendirected towards the use of a rolling-shutter camera, due to its progressive scan nature ofimage acquisition and subsequently coupled *** focus of this thesis is to enumerate the primary source of time-delay bornefrom using a rolling shutter camera for visual mapping: that is, the dependence offeature-point measurement time-delay with its location in the image frame. Becausea rolling shutter progressively scans pixel rows (or columns) in a sequential manner, afeature-point observed at different locations within the image will have been captured atdifferent time-points. Furthermore, an image frame is usually only stamped with onetime-stamp, hence we get a disparity between recorded time of measurement and *** here is a means of compensating for this time-delay with the aim ofimproving mapping performance. Unlike the limited library of past work on this matter,where the vehicle’s trajectory is approximated by a piecewise polynomial function with asparse number of control points, this work parameterises a camera frame’s line scan time,then draws on a buffer of the vehicle’s past states to interpolate to our approximatedtime-point. This approximated state is then used to sequentially update our database oflandmark position *** contribution of this current work is to present a recursive map estimation algo-rithm which compensates for this time delay

Immersed boundary method is a crucial method to deal with particle suspension *** shapes involved in such flow are usually simple geometry,such as sphere and ellipsoid,which can be conveniently represented by the triangular surface *** the number of particles and resolution of the surface grid increase,calculating the hydrodynamic force on the particle surface through integration can be ***,the present paper establishes a fast mapping method to evaluate immersed boundary hydrodynamic ***,the particle surface grid is generated by an initial triangular element ***,the initial surface grid is refined by bisection refinement to the desired *** final step is to find the triangular element index on the particle triangular surface grid,which contains the projective *** cases show that the present mapping algorithm has good accuracy and efficiency for calculating hydrodynamic forces of particles.

In many natural language processing based intelligent systems, parsing is the first task to perform. However, in the next stages, many systems often have the capacity of processing a limited number of parsed structures. The problem is to determine what parsed sentences can be recognized by a system. The decision of syntactic structures which can be processed by a system is consider as the task of "classification" of a parsed sentence into one of given classes of recognizable parses. In this paper we deal with this issue by proposing a method for mapping Vietnamese chunked sentences to a set of pre-defined shallow structures. Also, we tag lexicons and chunk phrases of the original sentences using our Functional Part-of-Speech (FPOS) tagset with Apache OpenNLP tools (Tokenizer, POS Tagger, Chunker). Based on the foundation of Functional Grammar, we define new lexical tags and combine with PennTreebank tagset to build our FPOS tagset. Due to our set of shallow structures is finite, instead of using a parser, we propose a rule-based algorithm for the mapping process. We establish conversion rules according to the reality experiences when using Vietnamese in common communication. The experiment shows that we converse successfully for the major of testing sentences and the algorithm can be applied for different languages.

Universally Composable Symbolic Analysis of Group Key Exchange Protocol

Canetti and Herzog have already proposed universally composable symbolic analysis(UCSA) to analyze mutual authentication and key exchange protocols. However,they do not analyze group key exchange protocol. Therefore,this paper explores an approach to analyze group key exchange protocols,which realize automation and guarantee the soundness of cryptography. Considered that there exist many kinds of group key exchange protocols and the participants’ number of each protocol is arbitrary. So this paper takes the case of Burmester-Desmedt(BD) protocol with three participants against passive adversary(3-BD-Passive) . In a nutshell,our works lay the root for analyzing group key exchange protocols automatically without sacrificing soundness of cryptography.

Design and validation a minimally invasive robotic surgical instrument with decoupled pose and multi-DOF

High-performance miniature surgical instruments play an important role in complicated minimally invasive surgery (MIS). Based on in-depth analysis of the requirements of MIS and the characteristics of the existing minimally invasive surgical instruments, a multiple degrees of freedom (DOF) robotic surgical instrument with decoupled pose was proposed. Firstly, the design concept of the pose decoupling instrument was described in detail, and its physical structure, transmission structure, and mechanical properties were designed and analyzed. A surgical instrument control algorithm based on the master-slave mode was established. Finally, a physical prototype was developed, and its motion ranges of joints, load capacity, and suture operation performance were comprehensively evaluated, which confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed minimally invasive robotic surgical instrument.

Probabilistic Availability Analysis for Marine Energy Transfer Subsystem Using Bayesian Network

This research work proposes a novel approach to estimate probabilities of availability states of the energy transfer network in marine energy conversion subsystems, using Bayesian Networks (BNs). The logical interrelationships between units at different level in this network can be understood through qualitative system analysis, which then can be modeled by the fault tree (FT). The FT can be mapped to a corresponding BN, and the condition probabilities of nodes can be determined based on the logic structure. A case study was performed to demonstrate how the mapping is implemented, and the probabilities of availability states were estimated. The results give the probability of each availability state as a function of time, which serves as a basis for choosing the optimal design solution.

Alternating cyclic vector extrapolation technique for accelerating nonlinear optimization algorithms and fixed-point mapping applications

Vector extrapolations for fixed-point iterations are shown to converge faster when their step lengths are computed from two or three consecutive maps alternately. Based on this finding, cyclic extrapolation methods are proposed which require few objective function evaluations, no matrix inversion, and little extra memory. They are efficient in high-dimensional contexts and do not require problem-specific adaptation. A convergence analysis is done for symmetric positive definite linear systems and for contraction mappings. The proposed methods rivaled common quasi-Newton alternatives in eight mapping applications that included gradient descent for constrained and unconstrained optimization.(c) 2023 Elsevier B.V. In recent years, quantum computing research has been attracting more and more attention, but few studies on the limited interaction distance between quantum bits (qubit) are deeply carried out. This paper presents a mapping method for transforming multiple-control Toffoli (MCT) circuits into linear nearest neighbor (LNN) quantum circuits instead of traditional decomposition-based methods. In order to reduce the number of inserted SWAP gates, a novel type of gate with the optimal LNN quantum realization was constructed, namely NNTS gate. The MCT gate with multiple control bits could be better cascaded by the NNTS gates, in which the arrangement of the input lines was LNN arrangement of the MCT gate. Then, the communication overhead measurement model on inserted SWAP gate count from the original arrangement to the new arrangement was put forward, and we selected one of the LNN arrangements with the minimum SWAP gate count. Moreover, the LNN arrangement-based mapping algorithm was given, and it dealt with the MCT gates in turn and mapped each MCT gate into its LNN form by inserting the minimum number of SWAP gates. Finally, some simplification rules were used, which can further reduce the final quantum cost of the LNN quantum circuit. Experiments on some benchmark MCT circuits indicate that the direct mapping algorithm results in fewer additional SWAP gates in about 50%, while the average improvement rate in quantum cost is 16.95% compared to the decomposition-based method. In addition, it has been verified that the proposed method has greater superiority for reversible circuits cascaded by MCT gates with more control bits.
