We propose a steganalysis defeating the steganographic method using pixel-value differencing and modulus function, which is a recent method with high security and capacity for secret communication. The presented steganalysis is designed to reveal the existence of the message and uses three steganalytic measures that remarkably increase their values in the stego images. Hence, the stego images are statistically separated with the cover images. Detection of the hidden message is possible by modeling the changes generated by the embedding process and comparing the values of the steganalytic measures. To increase the performance of the steganalytic measures, a novel histogram estimation scheme is used to estimate the histogram value of the cover image and the embedding ratio. A support vector machine classifier is adopted to discriminate between cover and stego images. The experimental results verify that the proposed steganalysis can detect the stego images with 97.1% accuracy, even though the embedding ratio is just 10% of the maximum hiding capacity. In this paper, we present a least significant bit (LSB) hiding scheme that can embed variable-size secrets in LSB planes using the block-based chaotic map, adaptive difference range division, pixel-value differencing and modulus function. In particular, the block-based chaotic map in our framework is used to rearrange the locations of image blocks such that the transformed image can have more complex content than the original image; more precisely, the transformed image's inter-blocks have the low correlations while its intra-blocks have the high correlations. In addition, the adaptive division for difference range and pixel-value differencing are applied to separate smooth areas from edge areas for hiding different amounts of secrets in the pixels with the modulus function. The result of the proposed scheme is that the pixels located in the inter-blocks hide more secrets to enlarge the embedding capacity, and those located in the intra-blocks have fewer embedded secrets to maintain good visual quality. The effectiveness of our scheme is provided in experiments. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed scheme is superior to the previous methods in providing a better embedding capacity with a good visual quality of the stego-image.

Consequently, we obtain a generalization of the notion of statistical convergence which is studied and characterized. With human eyes has different insensitive to different types of texture, edged and dark area, this paper proposed an image steganography with higher embedding capacity and good stego image quality. In our method, the image blocks was divided into four kinds (texture, edged, dark and smooth), and secret message was embedded with the algorithm of modulus function coincide with wavelet transform. From the experimental results, the complexity notion can distinguish different kinds of blocks precisely, and the steganography method can hide much larger message and maintain a good visual quality of stego image.

This paper proposes a method for hiding an important image in a cover image whose size is limited. In this method, in order to save space, a modified search-order coding (MSOC) technique first transforms the important image, then, a randomization procedure permutes the transformed image to further increase the security. Finally, a modulus function embeds the permuted code in a cover image;notably, in the modules function, the modulus base used for a pixel is determined according to the variance of its neighboring pixels. Experimental results show that the images are of high quality. Comparisons with reported methods are provided.
