Construction of flexible PDMS@PDA@AgNPs SERS sensor for multi-component detection of trace industrial dyes

The accurate identification and analysis of multiple harmful ingredient remains a huge challenge in the environmental protection field. In this work, a variety of PDMS@PDA@AgNPs flexible SERS platforms were fabricated by in situ growth of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) on the surface of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) membranes based on the adhesive and reducing properties of polydopamine (PDA). The substrates exhibited excellent sensitivity, homogeneity, and reproducible performance for multi-component detection of trace industrial dyes. The limits of detection (LOD) for rhodamine 6 G (R6G) and crystal violet (CV) individually were 5 x 10(-9) M and 1 x 10(-9) M, respectively. The abundant SERS 'hotspots' on the surface of prepared substrates contributed to the excellent enhancement effect. More importantly, the PDMS@PDA@AgNPs substrate was capable of realizing the simultaneous identification of R6G and CV with a detection limit of 10(-8) M and a good linearity between 10(-4) M and 10(-8) M. In addition, SERS barcode was developed to facilitate the rapid analysis of multi-component detection. The PDMS@PDA@AgNPs substrates are suitable for the rapid detection of multi-component samples, and have great application value in the fields of food safety and environmental assessment.

Comparative analysis of spectral variable selection methods for NIR-based multi-component detection of Xanthoceras sorbifolium Bunge seed kernels

The moisture, oil, protein, and nervonic acid contents are crucial criteria for assessing the nutritional value and processing quality of Xanthoceras sorbifolia Bunge seed kernels (XSKs). Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) offers a viable alternative to conventional chemical methods for rapid and non-destructive sample analysis. This study employed a highly adaptive method known as competitive adaptive reweighted sampling (CARS), which facilitates variable selection for different components and streamlines the feature-variable screening process. Using this method, various algorithms were applied to establish NIRS detection models for the four components of XSKs, and accuracy evaluations were conducted using the prediction set determination coefficient (R2P), rootmean-square error (RMSEP), and other parameters. The results indicated that CARS effectively extracted key information on various components in NIRS. Based on the feature variables selected by CARS, the partial least squares regression (PLSR) model exhibited optimal performance regarding moisture (R2P = 0.978, RMSEP = 0.117 %) and nervonic acid content (R2P = 0.988, RMSEP = 0.072 %). Meanwhile, the particle swarm optimization-enhanced support vector regression (PSO-SVR) model and back-propagation neural networks (BPNN) achieved superior performance for protein (R2P = 0.989, RMSEP = 0.243 %) and oil content (R2P = 0.978, RMSEP = 0.467 %), respectively. These models enable rapid and non-destructive detection of multi-component content, thereby facilitating the expeditious identification and selection of XSKs with high nutritional value and superior quality.

High-Sensitivity and In Situ multi-component detection of Gases Based on multiple-Reflection-Cavity-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy

Raman spectroscopy with the advantages of the in situ and simultaneous detection of multi-components has been widely used in the identification and quantitative detection of gas. As a type of scattering spectroscopy, the detection sensitivity of Raman spectroscopy is relatively lower, mainly due to the low signal collection efficiency. This paper presents the design and assembly of a multi-channel cavity-enhanced Raman spectroscopy system, optimizing the structure of the sample pool to reduce the loss of the laser and increase the excitation intensity of the Raman signals. Moreover, three channels are used to collect Raman signals to increase the signal collection efficiency for improving the detection sensitivity. The results showed that the limits of detection for the CH4, H2, CO2, O2, and N2 gases were calculated to be 3.1, 34.9, 17.9, 27, and 35.2 ppm, respectively. The established calibration curves showed that the correlation coefficients were all greater than 0.999, indicating an excellent linear correlation and high level of reliability. Meanwhile, under long-time integration detection, the Raman signals of CH4, H2, and CO2 could be clearly distinguished at the concentrations of 10, 10, and 50 ppm, respectively. The results indicated that the designed Raman system possesses broad application prospects in complex field environments.

In this research,a hydroxyl group functionalized metal-organic framework(MOF),UiO-66-(OH)_(2),was synthesized as a "on-off-on" fluore scent switching nanoprobe for highly sensitive and selective detection of Fe^(3+),ascorbic acid(AA) and acid phosphatase(ACP).UiO-66-(OH)_(2) emits yellow-green light under ultraviolet light,when Fe^(3+) was added,Fe^(3+) was chelated with hydroxyl group,the electrons in the excited state S_1 of the MOF transferred to the half-filled 3 d orbits of Fe^(3+),resulting in fluorescence quenching because of the nonradiative electron/hole recombination *** could reduce Fe^(3+) to Fe^(2+),which can destroy the electron transfer between UiO-66-(OH)_(2) and Fe^(3+) after AA adding,resulted in nonoccurrence of the nonradiative electron transfer,leading to the recovery of UiO-66-(OH)_(2) fluorescence *** probe can also be used to detect ACP based on the enzymolysis of 2-phospho-L-ascorbic acid(AAP) to produce *** from the hydroxyl group and the characteristics of UiO-66,including the high porosity and large surface area,the developed UiO-66-(OH)_(2) showed extensive advantages as a fluorescent probe for detection of multi-component,such as high sensitivity and selectivity,colorimetric detection,fast response kinetics and easy to operate,economical and *** is the first time to use active group functionalized MOFs as a multicomponent sensor for these three substances detection.

High-sensitivity solutions for real-time and on-line multi-component gas detection are required in coal mine safety, petrochemical and storage and transportation industries, atmospheric and environmental monitoring, combustion diagnosis, and industrial process monitoring and control. In optical technology, Tunable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy (TDLAS) has been proven to be an advanced technology for detection of multi-component gas, which benefits from the high sensitivity, good selectivity, fast response and anti-disturbance of TDLAS sensors. In detection of multi-component gas, the presence of non-negligible cross-interference, cost and performance requirements become a primary concern in the design of many detection schemes. In this review article, the application of TDLAS technology in multi-component gas detection will be discussed in two categories: (I) multiple lasers for detection of multi-component gas without cross-interference. (II) A single laser for detection of multi-component gas. This article outlines the advantages and disadvantages of applying various schemes in the two categories when TDLAS is applied to multi-component detection, with the aiming of providing ready-made guidance for multi-component detection under various applications.

Background: Allergen testing has emerged as a pivotal component in prevention and treatment strategies for allergic diseases among children and the utilization of specific IgE (sIgE) through a fully automated chemiluminescent microarray immunoassay (CLMIA) has emerged as a promising trend in the simultaneous detection of multiple allergenic components of children. Methods: The accuracy and reliability of CLMIA were verified using children's serum samples that concentrated on allergens. the allergens. The clinical diagnostic practicability of CLMIA was assessed through comprehensive evaluations including measurements of the limit of detection (LOD), intra-batch, and inter-batch precision, linearity analysis, the cross-contamination rate, and the concordance rate with the Phadia system. Results: After the optimization process of CLMIA, the LODs for allergens were calculated to be below 0.01 kU/L, demonstrating the high sensitivity of CLMIA. All components exhibited good linearity within the range of 0.1-100.0 kU/L and the coefficient of determinations (R-2 > 0.99). The data of intra-batch precision (<10 %) and inter-batch data (<15 %) illustrated the high reproducibility of CLMIA. The cross-contamination rates for allergens (<0.5 %) showed the high accuracy of CLMIA without interfering. The positive concordance rate between CLMIA and the Phadia system exceeds 90 % with a good negative concordance rate (>85 %) and the Kappa coefficients (>0.8), suggesting the close alignment of CLMIA and the Phadia system and showing the satisfactory clinical potential of CLMIA in children's allergy disease. Conclusions: The application of CLMIA has been promising in allergen testing, especially for detecting multiple allergenic components in children.

The universal synthesis of highly stable covalent organic frameworks(COFs)for ultra-sensitive and multi-component electrochemical detection in different scenarios remains a great ***,a series of metallophthalocyanine-based twodimensional(2D)dioxin(DXI)-linked metalophthalocyanine(MPc)-n DXI-COFs(M=Ni,Zn;n=1,2)are afforded in high yield(80%-96%)by a facile trace-quinoline assisted one-pot condensation of tetracarbonitrile *** X-ray diffraction and electron microscopy investigations disclose their lamellar texture 2D network with AA stacking *** and calculation results elucidate that the 2DXI-linked MPc-2DXI-COFs provide the stronger built-in electronic field and more electrostatic/hydrogen bonding adsorption sites than DXI-linked MPc-DXI-COFs,and the lower electrode reaction Gibbs free energy and stronger adsorption of analytes at Ni Pc than Zn Pc unit,which grants Ni Pc-2DXI-COF excellent sensing properties for various analytes including neurotransmitters,organic pollutants,and heavy metal ions,with high sensitivity and low detection limit of 0.53 to 25.66 *** in binary and ternary systems and even in real-world conditions,simultaneous multi-component detection could be achieved.

In Situ Synthesis of Highly Fluorescent, Phosphorus-Doping Carbon-Dot-Functionalized, Dendritic Silica Nanoparticles Applied for multi-component Lateral Flow Immunoassay

The sensitivity of fluorescent lateral flow immunoassay (LFIA) test strips is compromised by the low fluorescence intensity of the signaling molecules. In this study, we synthesized novel phosphorus-doped carbon-dot-based dendritic mesoporous silica nanoparticles (DMSNs-BCDs) with a quantum yield as high as 93.7% to break this bottleneck. Meanwhile, the in situ growth method increased the loading capacity of carbon dots on dendritic mesoporous silica, effectively enhancing the fluorescence intensity of the composite nanospheres. Applied DMSNs-BCDs in LFIA can not only semi-quantitatively detect a single component in a short time frame (procalcitonin (PCT), within 15 min) but also detect the dual components with a low limit of detection (LOD) (carbohydrate antigen 199 (CA199) LOD: 1 U/mL;alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) LOD: 0.01 ng/mL). And the LOD of PCT detection (0.01 ng/mL) is lower by 1.7 orders of magnitude compared to conventional colloidal gold strips. For CA199, the LOD is reduced by a factor of four compared to LFIA using gold nanoparticles as substrates, and for AFP, the LOD is lowered by two orders of magnitude compared to colloidal gold LFIA. Furthermore, the coefficients of variation (CV) for intra-assay and inter-assay measurements are both less than 11%.

Simultaneous detection of 2, 4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid and fenitrothion through lanthanide doped β-NaYE4 upconversion nanoparticles with different emitting light colors

A real-time, on-site rapid and sensitive detection method of low-molecular chemical pollutants was developed by an immunochromatographic strip based on the competitive reaction between the pesticide antigens and polyclonal antibody labeled with upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) bio-probes. Two polyclonal antibodies of 2, 4-D and fenitrothion were labeled by beta-NaYF4:Yb, Er (green phosphors) and beta-NaY(Gd)F-4:Yb, Er (red phosphors) UCNPs respectively and dropped to the conjugation pads on the immunochromatographic strip. The competitors of fenitrothion-OVA and 2, 4-D-OVA were immobilized onto a nitrocellulose membrane to form two test lines T-1 and T-2, respectively. Meanwhile, the goat anti-rabbit IgG was built onto a nitrocellulose membrane to form control lines (C). The detection limits of 2, 4-D and fenitrothion are 5 ng/mL and 12 ng/mL respectively by using the UCNPs-based immunochromatographic strip. The demonstrated results indicated that two different emitting colors UCNPs have great superiority as luminescent bio-probes for simultaneous detection of low-molecular pesticide residues.

A surface plasmon resonance(SPR) sensor with two orthogonal open loops based on microstructured optical fibers(MOFs) is introduced. The interaction between core mode and surface plasmon polariton(SPP) mode produced by two different metal films is studied. Full vector finite element method is used to analyze the coupling and sensing *** results show that there are three loss peaks near the Au/Ag film, and multi-peak calibration is achieved. Because of the positive and negative sensitivity of the amplitude, the sensor has strong anti-interference capability when the external environment changes. The sensor can detect the refractive index between 1.37 and 1.40, and the working wavelength is between 1600 nm and 2400 nm. Because the sensor has some excellent characteristics, it can be used in biochemical sensing, environmental detection, and other related fields.
