MIMO-SST: multi-input multi-output Spatial-Spectral Transformer for Hyperspectral and multispectral Image Fusion

The current advanced hyperspectral super-resolution methods utilize convolutional neural networks (CNNs) that are either deeper or wider. These networks are designed to acquire end-to-end mapping capability, facilitating the transformation from low-resolution hyperspectral images (LR-HSIs) and high-resolution multispectral images (HR-MSIs) to high-resolution HSIs (HR-HSIs). The existing methods lack the capability to capture details and structures in the image effectively, while multi-input multi-output methods can address this issue efficiently. Therefore, this article proposes a novel network architecture named multi-input multi-output spatial-spectral transformer (MIMO-SST). To apply the multi-input multi-output methods in HSI fusion, specifically integrating the spatial-spectral information of LR-HSI and HR-MSI, we introduce multihead feature map attention, multihead feature channel attention, and a multiscale convolutional gated feedforward network, constructing the proposed mixture spatial-spectral Transformer. Moreover, to enhance the expressive power of image edges and recover the sharpened structure details, this study incorporates a novel wavelet-based high-frequency loss into the ultimate comprehensive loss, with the objective of refining the reconstruction of high-frequency details. Experimental studies on three simulated datasets and one real-world dataset demonstrate that the proposed method in this study outperforms contemporary state-of-the-art methods in terms of performance. It is noteworthy that our method exhibits a 0.85-dB improvement in terms of the peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) metric on the Columbia computer vision laboratory (CAVE) dataset compared to state-of-the-art methods. A dual-band eight-antenna multi-input multi-output array for 5G metal-framed smartphones

A dual-band eight-antenna array operating in the long-term evolution (LTE) band 41 (2.496-2.69 GHz) and 3.5-GHz band (3.3-3.7 GHz) for fifth-generation (5G) metal-framed smartphone is presented. The proposed dual-band antenna array is composed of four identical dual-antenna building blocks (DABBs). Each DABB consists of two identical antenna elements with a neutralization line between them. The antenna array is simulated, fabricated, and measured. The isolations are better than 10.5 dB and 11.0 dB in the low band (LB;LTE band 41) and high band (HB;3.5-GHz band). The total efficiencies are 41% to 54% and 46% to 64% in the two operation bands, respectively. In addition, the measured envelope correlation coefficients are less than 0.11 and 0.06, the calculated channel capacities are better than 34.5 and 36.3 bps/Hz in the LB and HB, respectively. Furthermore, four hand-grip scenarios are investigated, and results show that proposed antenna array can maintain excellent multiple-input multiple-output performances in all scenarios.

A wideband self-decoupled multi-input multi-output antenna with a high isolation

A wideband MIMO antenna, which consists of two adjacent antenna elements with a very close distance (2 mm or 0.026 lambda), is suggested to achieve a good isolation by the principle of common mode (CM, in-phase signals) and differential mode (DM, out-of-phase signals) cancelation without using any additional decoupling structure in this article. Compared with its reference design, the measured results demonstrate that the isolation of proposed design can be improved to better than 20 dB in a wider bandwidth of 3.2-5.9 GHz (59%), with S-11 and S-22 < -10 dB. The experimental efficiency and envelope correlation coefficients are larger than 78% and <0.04 for the proposed design, respectively. The proposed multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna array, with good isolation and diversity performance, exhibits broad application prospects in the tightly arranged MIMO antennas of 5G mobile devices.

A Fast Lightweight 3D Separable Convolutional Neural Network With multi-input multi-output for Moving Object Detection

Advances in moving object detection have been driven by the active application of deep learning methods. However, many existing models render superior detection accuracy at the cost of high computational complexity and slow inference speed. This fact has hindered the development of such models in mobile and embedded vision tasks, which need to be carried out in a timely fashion on a computationally limited platform. In this paper, we propose a super-fast (inference speed-154 fps) and lightweight (model size-1.45 MB) end-to-end 3D separable convolutional neural network with a multi-input multi-output (MIMO) strategy named "3DS_MM" for moving object detection. To improve detection accuracy, the proposed model adopts 3D convolution which is more suitable to extract both spatial and temporal information in video data than 2D convolution. To reduce model size and computational complexity, the standard 3D convolution is decomposed into depthwise and pointwise convolutions. Besides, we proposed a MIMO strategy to increase inference speed, which can take multiple frames as the network input and output multiple frames of detection results. Further, we conducted the scene dependent evaluation (SDE) and scene independent evaluation (SIE) on the benchmark CDnet2014 and DAVIS2016 datasets. Compared to state-of-the-art approaches, our proposed method significantly increases the inference speed, reduces the model size, meanwhile achieving the highest detection accuracy in the SDE setup and maintaining a competitive detection accuracy in the SIE setup.

In this article, an extension of the ℒ1adaptive control design is introduced for a class of non-affine multi-input multi-output nonlinear systems with unknown dynamics and unmeasured states. The system dynamics is represented in the normal form with the bounded-input-bounded-output internal dynamics. At first, a stable virtual reference counterpart is constructed. Thereafter, a piece-wise continuous adaptive law is introduced to the actual system along with a low-pass filtered control signal that allows for achieving arbitrarily close tracking of the input and the output signals of the reference system. Rigorous mathematical proof is provided, and the theoretical results are verified with the simulation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Irreducibility conditions for discrete-time nonlinear multi-input multi-output systems

The purpose of this paper is to present necessary and sufficient condition for irreducibility of discrete-time nonlinear multi-input multi-output system which extends directly the corresponding condition for the linear case. The condition is presented in terms of the greatest common left divisor of two polynomial matrices related to the input-output equations of the system. The basic difference is that unlike the linear case the elements of the polynomial matrices belong to a non-commutative polynomial ring. This condition provides a bases for finding the equivalent minimal irreducible representation of the i/o equations which is a suitable starting point for constructing an observable and accessible state space realization.

A continuous analysis of multi-input, multi-output predictive control

A continuous formulation and method of analysis is constructed for multi-input, multi-output (MIMO) predictive control and used to compare Dynamic Matrix Control (DMC) with Simplified Predictive Control (SPC). Approximate characteristic equations are derived for each of DMC and SPC and these are used to determine, and thus compare, the closed-loop control behaviour of these methods at times long compared with the sampling time. The MIMO control problem considered is the general case of control over two coupled zones of a first order, linear process where a single control move is simultaneously input into each zone and a single output or measurement, is made from within each zone. The analytical results are illustrated through MIMO control of the terminal composition of a binary distillation column. A practically important result is an analytic basis to understand previous experimental observations that, for a wide range of processes, SPC appears to be as capable as the more sophisticated DMC. Furthermore, it is also shown here that SPC is well-conditioned over its entire parameter range in contrast to DMC. This well-conditioned behaviour makes it especially suitable for remote applications where unknown, and variable timing of future moves may be a significant issue. Integration of PV source with battery in an electric rickshaw improves the reliability of the drive and reduces dependency on conventional AC supply for charging. This paper proposes a schematic of an electric rickshaw based on a combination of Solar PV and a Lead Acid Battery. Direct integration of PV cells and a battery through a single converter eliminates intermediate stages for charging. A multi-input multi-output DC-DC converter topology is proposed. A comparison of conventionally existing schemes of battery-driven and PV-driven e-rickshaws is done with the proposed scheme. Analysis shows the proposed hybrid configuration is a considerate improvement over the existing designs. Mathematical modeling and simulation are done to analyze the proposed topology.

In multi input multi output orthogonal frequency division multiplexing systems, a group of low complexity subspace based time domain channel estimation methods are studied. These methods are based on parametric channel model, where the response of the channel is considered as a collection of sparse propagation paths. Considering the channel correlation matrix, translate estimation of channel parameters into an unconstrained minimized problem. To solve this problem, subspace tracking based Kalman filter method is proposed, which employs the constant subspace to construct state equation and measurement equation. The Least Mean Square and Recursive Least Square algorithms are applied and evaluated. These methods represent a group of low complexity subspace schemes. The approach can be extended to multi carrier code-division multiple-access systems. The simulation results prove that the Kalman filter method in time domain channel estimation can track faster fading channel, and is more accurate with low complexity.

Structural response reconstruction using a system-equivalent singular vector basis

This paper develops a novel method for reconstructing the full-field response of structural dynamic systems using sparse measurements. The singular value decomposition is applied to a frequency response matrix relating the structural response to physical loads, base motion, or modal loads. The left singular vectors form a non-physical reduced basis that can be used for response reconstruction with far fewer sensors than existing methods. The contributions of the singular vectors to measured response are termed singular-vector loads (SVLs) and are used in a regularized Bayesian framework to generate full-field response estimates and confidence intervals. The reconstruction framework is applicable to the estimation of single data records and power spectral densities from multiple records. Reconstruction is successfully performed in configurations where the number of SVLs to identify is less than, equal to, and greater than the number of sensors used for reconstruction. In a simulation featuring a seismically excited shear structure, SVL reconstruction significantly outperforms modal FRFbased reconstruction and successfully estimates full-field responses with as few as two uniaxial accelerometers. SVL reconstruction is further verified in a simulation featuring an acoustically excited cylinder. Finally, response reconstruction and uncertainty quantification are performed on an experimental structure with three shaker inputs and 27 triaxial accelerometer outputs.
