Forecast of regional water demand based on NSGAII-FORAGM

Regional water demand is an important basic data for regional engineering planning, design and management. Making full use of multi-source data and prior knowledge to quickly and economically obtain high-precision regional water demand is of great significance to the optimal allocation of regional water resources. In order to accurately predict the regional water demand, this study took Yulin City as a research area to predict the water demand of the city from 2017 to 2019. Aiming at the oscillating characteristics of the regional water demand sequence and the over-fitting problem of traditional prediction models, this study proposed the non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm II-fractional order reverse accumulative grey model (NSGAII-FORAGM). The regional water demand oscillation sequence was transformed into a monotonically decreasing non-negative sequence. Based on the transformation sequence, an optimization model was constructed according to the two objective functions of 'maximum (or minimum) order' and 'best fit to historical data', and the NSGAII method were adopted to solve the model. The three model structures of 'fractional order', 'reverse accumulation' and 'obtaining order through multi-objective optimization model ' were tested based on the water use sequence of the three sectors (industry, tertiary industry and domestic) in Yulin City, and the performance of the method is compared with NSGAII-IORAGM, NSGAII-FOFAGM and SOGA-FORAGM. The results showed that the average relative error of the model established in this study for the simulation of industry, tertiary industry (The tertiary industry is a technical name for the service sector of the economy, which encompasses a wide range of businesses), and domestic was 15.54%, 11.20%, 9.98% respectively. Software component evaluation and selection using TOPSIS and fuzzy interactive approach under multiple applications development

In this paper, a two phase approach is proposed for decision-making situation that involves optimal software component evaluation and selection for designing component-based modular software system with multiple applications. In the first phase, components are evaluated using technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution. In the second phase, a non-linear multi-objective optimization model is developed that facilitates the decision whether "to buy commercial-off-the-shelf components" or "to build in-house components" so that the total score of alternative components is maximized while the overall cost and delivery time of the system are minimized. Many critical parameters such as reliability of various applications, reusability and compatibility of the software components are considered simultaneously in the proposed optimization model. To determine a preferred compromise solution for the multi-objective optimization problem, a fuzzy interactive approach is used. Numerical illustrations based on a small-scale case study are presented to demonstrate usefulness of the proposed optimization model for optimal "build or buy" decisions in real-world applications.

optimization of Passenger and Freight Collaborative Transportation for Urban Rail Transit under Virtual Coupling Condition

Urban rail transit has the potential to utilize surplus capacity to carry out urban freight transportation during off-peak periods. Based on the characteristics of virtual coupling operation and organization mode, this paper comprehensively considers the competition between passenger flow and freight flow, takes the train stopping plan and train carriage allocation as the main decision variables, and takes the minimization of passenger waiting time and the maximization of average full load rate as dual objectives to construct a multi-objective optimization model of passengerfreight collaborative transport scheme of urban rail transit under virtual coupling conditions. The multi-objective optimization model is developed to obtain the system optimization of the train stopping plan, running plan, carriage allocation plan, and passenger-freight collaborative transport plan. Numerical experiments are designed to verify the model's validity, using Wuxi Metro Line 3 as an example, and the NSGA-II algorithm solves all experiments. The results of the algorithm show that, compared to the traditional single passenger transport with a fixed large coupling, the scheme in this paper can simultaneously improve the average full capacity of the whole line by about 38.5% during the study period with only 0.65 minutes increase in the average passenger waiting time for the same number of rolling stocks, which can effectively shorten passenger travel time and improve the quality of passenger service in urban rail transit while ensuring transport efficiency.

Information systems outsourcing has been one of the critical issues in information systems management. Various strategies to IS outsourcing have emerged. Although many articles have appeared on outsourcing, few have extended the discussion beyond simple cost and benefit analysis. Vendor selection is a difficult problem which includes both tangible and intangible factors. Until now, there are no effective quantitative decision models which can help outsourcer to choice vendors. In this paper, an IS outsourcing optimization model is proposed to select IS providers, while considering the cost and the risk simultaneously. Then according to the complicated nonlinear integer programming model, a modified version of ant colony optimization (ACO) is proposed to solve it. Finally, the computing results on a numerical example show the effectiveness and feasibility of the model and algorithm.

With the improvement of urbanization level and the continuous expansion of urban scale, the traditional single-line operation mode has gradually been unable to adapt to the existing diversified passenger flow needs, and various urban rail transit is also transforming to networked and interconnected operation. How to develop a matching train operation plan based on the needs of passenger flow has become the primary problem to be solved. Based on the cross-line OD passenger flow, this paper analyzes the travel choice behavior of different OD passengers to establish a model of urban rail cross-line train operation. Finally, combined with the actual data of two lines in a city that meet the cross-line operation, the feasibility of the model is verified, and the passenger flow conditions required to operate the cross-line train are determined, compared with the single-line independent operation scheme, the implementation of cross-line operation can reduce the operating costs and passenger travel costs of enterprise.

This paper develops a runway resource allocation model that is suitable for airport strategical planning. The model optimizes the selection of landing and takeoff runways and allocates capacity according to air traffic demand by minimizing delay and noise costs. The multi-objective optimization model is subject to a number of constraints, related to operational procedures, runway configuration capacity, safety, and weather conditions. Because weather accuracy is far from the accuracy requirements to make a deterministic perfect decision at the right time, we provide a method to quantify weather forecast accuracy. By using the probability density function of forecast errors, we derive formulations to calculate the probability that a runway configuration satisfies safety constraints given the predicted wind, ceiling, and visibility. Therefore, the optimization model will generate a best solution in the sense of probability.

WPP(Wind Power Penetration) is an important indicator to ensure wind power system security. There were two types of method to calculate WPP in the past. One type of the methods which is used maximum load to calculate WPP is fast but unable to get practical result. Another type of method using stochastic simulation to calculate WPP could get practical result but is slow in calculating speed. To solve these problems, the optimal load is proposed in this paper to calculate WPP. Firstly, a new multi-objective optimization model is given in the paper. Then, two fuzzy weigh coefficients are used to simplify the model. At last, credibility expectation is used to process the fuzzy weight coefficient. Based on a typical wind power system and actual statistical value of load power, simulation results show obvious significance of optimal load calculating method given in this paper.

Supplier selection is a critical issue in information systems(IS) outsourcing decision, and it is a difficult problem which includes both tangible and intangible factors. Besides cost and benefit analysis, some intangible factors such as risk also need to be considered. In this paper, a mules-objective programming model is proposed to help outsourcers to select IS providers. This model considers cost and risk factor simultaneously in distribution of modules among candidate suppliers to minimize the total cost and failure rate. Then according to the difficulty of solving of this complicated nonlinear integer programming model, a modified hybrid algorithm is proposed to obtain the most preferred non-dominated solution. This algorithm is a hybrid algorithm combining genetic algorithm and particle swarm algorithm. Finally, a numerical example shows the effectiveness and feasibility of the model, and proved the convergence of the hybrid algorithm.

Highway maintenance is the main new task after highway construction. In order to predict pavement performance reasonably, and choose the most reasonable maintenance plan, based on investigating and inspecting the pavement condition, use computer language of VB from inputting the data module, establishing evaluation module, maintenance module, prediction module, economic evaluation module and statements processing module of pavement maintenance management system. Put the original data into this system. The system can predict pavement performance and choose maintenance scheme automatically, and use multi-objective optimization model, the effect of the definition and dynamic programming method to optimize the scientific and reasonable maintenance plan, which is from technical and economic aspects to realize by using the limited maintenance funds to achieve the best maintenance effect and to obtain the biggest social and economic benefits.

This paper addresses a Dynamic Cellular Manufacturing Systems (DCMS) problem considering both economic and social criteria, that is, the problem deals with the minimization of the total costs and maximization of social issues. We develop a bi-objective mathematical model of this problem in order to capture the trade-off between these two objectives. The strategic decisions considered in the model define the configuration of cells and part-families in each period. In order to solve our model, we design a new Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm (NSGA-II) as a meta-heuristic method. Our approach is illustrated on two samples of problems randomly generated.
