In an effort to improve the convenience and modularization in the current methods proposed to design the actuated joint for robots, an approach is suggested and detailed by the design of an artificial muscle based actuated joint. The design methods is an integrated actuated joint mechanism for robots by using the gemel and SMA(Shape Memory Alloy, SMA) wires as the structure and muscle actuators respectively. In addition, a Cartesian coordinate system of the joint mechanism is formed to optimize the geometrical dimensions, and a mathematically model is constructed to reflect the relationships between the geometrical parameters, intensity, output torque and angular displacement of actuated joint. Furthermore, the model is solved by the multi-objective programming algorithm based on MATLABTM Optimization Toolbox function. The proposed method is demonstrated by its application in a sciatic joint design from a quadruped robot project, and the benefits of SMA muscle based actuated joint are highlighted in terms of strength, dexterity, and bearing.

In this paper, an algorithm that identifies redundant objective functions in multi-objective stochastic fractional programming problems is provided. A solution procedure is also illustrated. This reduces the number of objective functions in cases where redundant objective functions exist.

In the traditional design of distribution network, designers often consider cost or profit as the objective. However, this is no longer adequate since quality of service becomes more important because of the improvement of people’s living standard. Therefore, this paper first analyzes the division of distribution network. Based on the customers’ requirement, the paper evaluates alternative link and nod in the distribution network from the perspective of customer demand using fuzzy-logic based comprehensive evaluation. The resulting method analyzes the level of service of every enterprise for alternatives in the distribution network. This paper establishes a mathematical model for the supply chain’s distribution network with two goals: minimizing cost and maximizing level of service. The paper presents a solution to this multi-objective problem.

A resource allocation model (RAM) for not-for-profit organization in the framework of Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) was introduced by Zhang and Cui ([1]). The model is an inverse formulation to the DEA model , as pointed in paper [2], and can be transformed into a parametric linear programming problem. Also a multi-objective programming problem was introduced in [2] to solve RAM when the efficiency index of the discussed organization is strictly less than one. In this paper, inadequacy of the original RAM model is discussed and then a revised new model is presented. The new model can be transformed into a multi-objective programming problem or a linear programming problem for any efficiency index value an organization has.

This paper studies the conditions of achieving the Pareto optimum (high-efficiency) on logistics enterprises resource integration by applying the multi-objective programming. To counter the present situation and problems of the RSTE logistics resources, it put forward project of the logistics resources integration that RSTE realize Pareto optimum. This paper designed and developed a multi-objective programming (MOP) model to illustrate the dynamic relationship among technologies, productive activities, constraints and farmers' objectives in the peri-urban vegetable production system and use the model as an economic tool in analysing probable consequences of a given action or innovation on the farm. The best compromise solution was generated using four analytical steps, as follows: single-objective optimization (to determine the ideal and anti-ideal values of the objective functions);constrained optimization (to generate the set of Pareto non-dominated solutions);cluster analysis (to trim down efficient set into smaller homogeneous groups);and compromise programming (to determine where the best compromise solution lies). The study then evaluated the income and risk impacts of technological innovation, specifically that of the technologies espoused by the AVRDC-Manila Peri-urban project for tomato and pak choi production during the hot-wet season. It was found that relative to the current production system, the entry of grafted tomato under rainshelter in the best compromise solution could increase farmer's income, however, the price-induced risk also increased. This effect was brought about by the increased yield of tomato that caused variance of income to increase. This result indicates that under existing conditions, the higher income offered by the costly technology will only be acceptable if farmers are willing to take on the higher risk. The MOP model also assessed how making capital more accessible to the farmers will affect the extent of adoption (proxied by area planted to the crop) of the technology. Results showed that income would increase when capital constraint was relaxed. This increase in income, however, was made possible largely by the change in crop mix, with a relatively small increase in area planted to tomato.
