In a time of digitalization and informationization for Mine enterprise, based on the complication of multiobjective ore blending planning and management, a question of fuzzy multi-objective ore blending is proposed. Then according to linguistic preference information and satisfying degree of decision maker, a fuzzy multi-objective optimization algorithm is designed. The algorithm effectively solves the difficulties in multi-objective decisions, such as difficult to quantify certain objectives and restrictions and to weigh decision objectives subjectively, and different dimensions of objectives. It has also the Characteristics of flexibility and sensitivity, which is verified through a application example of certain mine, it is a practical, great universal method or means for the mine ore blending planning and management.

A price determination mode for large consumers is proposed under the present environments with large consumers purchasing electric power from the electricity supply utility in some area in Yunnan. With abundant waterpower in Yunnan, most of consumed electric power of large consumers is signed in the form of contracts. The contract price is determined by optimizing resources and maximizing profits of the supply utility. The different price is in accordance with different demand-price elasticity of large consumers. The difference between planned and actual consumption power is balanced in two spot markets. Because of the randomicity of spot price and trading power, the sale price of the supply utility in spot market is calculated based on stochastic programming. At last, simulation verifies the rationality of the models, which solves a part of problems faced by the supply utility in selling electricity to large consumers.

The fatal earthquake on September 21, 1999 caused significant damages to Taiwan, which made the national government focus on strengthening relief systems regarding natural disasters. Disaster prevention, protection, and reconstruction are the major areas of focus to reduce human suffering and damage from disasters. A key point is the ability to enhance the distribution of relief materials effectively. In this study, we construct a relief-distribution model using the mufti-objectiveprogramming method for designing relief delivery systems in a real case. The model features three objectives: minimizing the total cost, minimizing the total travel time, and maximizing the minimal satisfaction during the planning period. The first two objectives pursue the efficiency goal, whereas the third pursue fairness-making best effort to ensure relief commodity delivery to all demand points. In this paper, production-inventory models for a deteriorating item in a single vendor-buyer system has been developed with constant production and demand rate. Shortages at the buyer (when it is allowed) depends on time. The models have been formulated as cost minimization problem via both integrated and non-integrated approaches and solved using genetic algorithms developed to solve the single and multiobjective production inventory problems. Numerical illustrations of the models have been presented and the sensitivity analysis with respect to rates of production, demand and deterioration are performed.

As an effective technique for feature extraction and pattern classification Fisher linear discriminant (FLD) has been successfully applied in many fields. However, for a task with very high-dimensional data such as face images, conventional FLD technique encounters a fundamental difficulty caused by singular within-class scatter matrix. To avoid the trouble, many improvements on the feature extraction aspect of FLD have been proposed. In contrast, studies on the pattern classification aspect of FLD are quiet few. In this paper, we will focus our attention on the possible improvement on the pattern classification aspect of FLD by presenting a novel linear discriminant criterion called maximum scatter difference (MSD). Theoretical analysis demonstrates that MSD criterion is a generalization of Fisher discriminant criterion, and is the asymptotic form of discriminant criterion: large margin linear projection. The performance of MSD classifier is tested in face recognition. Experiments performed on the ORL, Yale, FERET and AR databases show that MSD classifier can compete with top-performance linear classifiers such as linear support vector machines, and is better than or equivalent to combinations of well known facial feature extraction methods, such as eigenfaces, Fisherfaces, orthogonal complementary space, nullspace, direct linear discriminant analysis, and the nearest neighbor classifier.

A multi-objective operation model is proposed in this paper to deal with a multi-product, multi-period supply chain consisting of a supplier and a producer. In this supply chain, the amount of raw materials supply and their prices, ultimate products demand and their prices are uncertain. The uncertainties of prices are described by the uncertain intervals;the supplies and demands are described as a scenario set with certain probability. The model is constructed as a multi-objective programming problem to satisfy several conflict objectives, such as the operating coordination of supply chain, making the maximum profit of all participants as much as possible, and robustness of decision to uncertain markets. The result of a numerical example shows that the model we proposed is robust.

In an effort to improve the convenience and modularization in the current methods proposed to design the actuated joint for robots, an approach is suggested and detailed by the design of an artificial muscle based actuated joint. The design methods is an integrated actuated joint mechanism for robots by using the gemel and SMA(Shape Memory Alloy, SMA) wires as the structure and muscle actuators respectively. In addition, a Cartesian coordinate system of the joint mechanism is formed to optimize the geometrical dimensions, and a mathematically model is constructed to reflect the relationships between the geometrical parameters, intensity, output torque and angular displacement of actuated joint. Furthermore, the model is solved by the multi-objective programming algorithm based on MATLABTM Optimization Toolbox function. The proposed method is demonstrated by its application in a sciatic joint design from a quadruped robot project, and the benefits of SMA muscle based actuated joint are highlighted in terms of strength, dexterity, and bearing.
