We introduce a new technique, called homogenization, for a systematic construction of augmented codes of binary linear codes, using the defining set approach in connection to multivariablefunctions. We explicitly determine the parameters and the weight distribution of the homogenized codes when the defining set is either a simplicial complex generated by any finite number of elements, or the difference of two simplicial complexes, each of which is generated by a single maximal element. Using this homogenization technique, we produce several infinite families of optimal codes, self-orthogonal codes, minimal codes, and self-complementary codes. As applications, we obtain some best known quantum errorcorrecting codes, infinite families of intersecting codes (used in the construction of covering arrays), and we compute the Trellis complexity (required for decoding) for several families of codes as well. The manufacturing industry consumes an excessive amount of materials, mainly from virgin sources and energy streams, which contributes significantly to global environmental problems such as climate change. To achieve sustainable development, the creation of eco-designs and their implementation in the manufacturing sector is crucial. However, it is tedious for product designers to generate alternative eco-designs and iteratively evaluate the mitigation of environmental hotspots. Therefore, this study proposes a parametric life cycle assessment (PLCA) approach to eco-design optimization and decision making at the early design stage. This proposed PLCA model reflects the characteristics of the environmental performance of the entire product life cycle as an objective function at the early design stage. In particular, this model allows designers to optimize the design and to mitigate environmental impacts, without performing scenario analysis. To illustrate the applicability of this approach, two case studies are presented, and the effectiveness of the approach is demonstrated for eco-design optimization and eco-design decision making. The results of the two case studies reveal that the developed objective function, which is expressed as a multi-variable optimization problem with constraints, can be used to generate optimum values for the product and process parameters that will have minimal environmental impacts. Therefore, it can be concluded that the PLCA based optimization approach in the early design stage of the product supports designers in their attempts to achieve the eco-design effortlessly. By analyzing the intersections traffic flow arrival and traffic waiting delay law, the control models of the cycle and splits for a multi-phase signalized intersection have been discussed, however, the disadvantages of traffic delay which come from phase change have not been considered. So a modified multiphase traffic signal real-time timing model in isolated intersection has been proposed. The model utilizes weighted coefficient to transform the multi- optimization problem into a single optimization problem. This model is made of a synthetically optimization which takes the vehicles benefits as the goals while the managing efficiency as the sanctions. It realizes a new in -time method in traffic control in urban road intersection.
