Multi-objective optimization of aerodynamic and erosion resistance performances of a high-pressure turbine

Focusing on a high-pressure turbine, this study conducts a multi-objective optimization aimed to improve its aerodynamic and erosion resistance performances. With a self-adaptive updated Kriging model first applied, the Latin hypercube sampling method and nsga-ii algorithm are then used to find trade-off solutions. The sensitivity analysis shows that the efficiency is mainly influenced by the flow angles near trailing edges of three selected blade spans, among which the flow angle near the trailing edge of middle span is the most significant, followed by the root span and tip span, while the dominant design parameters affecting the erosion are the flow angles near trailing edges of middle span and tip span. After optimization, the erosion around the middle span on pressure side and middle chord on suction side is significantly reduced due to the decrease of impact velocity and impact frequency, and the increase of impact angle. Besides, the low-velocity fluid regions near the pressure side of middle span and the trialing edge of tip are greatly reduced, which can relieve the blockage of flow passage. At all axial sections considered, the optimized blade is shown to significantly reduce losses near the tip and suction side, especially at 80% axial section.

Road Passenger Load Probability Prediction and Path Optimization Based on Taxi Trajectory Big Data

This paper focuses on predicting road passenger probability and optimizing taxi driving routes based on trajectory big data. By utilizing clustering algorithms to identify key passenger points, a method for calculating and predicting road passenger probability is proposed. This method calculates the passenger probability for each road segment during different time periods and uses a BiLSTM neural network for prediction. A passenger-seeking recommendation model is then constructed with the goal of maximizing passenger probability, and it is solved using the nsga-ii algorithm. Experiments are conducted on the Chengdu taxi trajectory dataset, using MSE as the metric for model prediction accuracy. The results show that the BiLSTM prediction model improves prediction accuracy by 9.67% compared to the BP neural network and by 6.45% compared to the LSTM neural network. The proposed taxi driver passenger-seeking route selection method increases the average passenger probability by 18.95% compared to common methods. The proposed passenger-seeking recommendation framework, which includes passenger probability prediction and route optimization, maximizes road passenger efficiency and holds significant academic and practical value.

Two-Stage Optimal Design Method for Asymmetric Base-Isolated Structures Subject to Pulse-Type Earthquakes

Asymmetric base-isolated structures subjected to severe torsion may suffer further aggravation of their torsional and translational responses under pulse-type earthquakes. To counteract these detrimental impacts, this study introduces a two-stage optimal design method. The first stage involved the application of the nsga-ii algorithm for determining an optimal isolator arrangement-namely, position and category-with the objective of reducing both the maximum interstory rotation of the superstructure and the isolation layer. In the second stage, the inclusion of viscous dampers served to minimize the excessive translational response triggered by pulse-type earthquakes. The influence of these dampers' positions on the structural response was carefully evaluated. The final application of this optimal design method was demonstrated on an asymmetric base-isolated structure. The results indicated a significant reduction in the translational and torsional responses of the asymmetric base-isolated structure when the two-stage optimal design method was utilized, compared to those of structures designed using traditional conceptual methods. It was found that by installing viscous dampers in the isolation layer along both the x and the y directions-specifically, underneath the mass center of the superstructure (CMS)-the effectiveness of the torsional resistance from the first stage could be effectively maintained.

Multi-Objective Optimization of Molten Carbonate Fuel Cell and Absorption Refrigerator Hybrid System

The multi-objective optimization of the hybrid system consisting of molten carbonate fuel cell and absorption refrigerator is carried out based on the nondominated sorting genetic algorithm ii (nsga-ii). The operating current density, temperature, pressure of the molten carbonate fuel cell and the irreversibility parameter of the absorption refrigerator are selected as the decision variables, and the equivalent power, efficiency and ecological performance of the hybrid system are treated as the comprehensive optimization objective functions. The Pareto optimal solution set under the constraint conditions of decision variables is get. Two kinds of effective decision-making tools are used: TOPSIS and LINMAP. They are used to obtain relative optimum solution as well as the optimized operation condition. At last, the results of the multi-objective optimization are compared with those of the single objective optimization.

Multi-objective parameter optimization strategy based on engine coordinated control for improving shifting quality

In order to address the poor shifting quality issue of a certain model of heavy-duty vehicles, a multi-objective parameter optimization strategy based on engine coordinated control is proposed. This strategy aims to improve shifting quality by reducing the sliding friction work and impact during the shifting process. The Non-Dominated Sorting Genetic algorithm ii (nsga-ii) is employed to perform multi-objective optimization on the coordinated control parameters, which include external control torque of the engine, start of fuel cut-off timing, and duration of fuel cut-off. By comparing the performance of different parameter combinations in terms of sliding friction work and impact, the optimal parameter combination is determined. Through bench testing verification, it has been demonstrated that utilizing the optimized parameters for engine coordinated control during the torque phase of the shifting process can significantly enhance shifting quality. This strategy provides an effective solution for addressing shifting quality issues.

Research on Optimization of Multi-Objective Regional Public Transportation Scheduling

The optimization of bus scheduling is a key method to improve bus service. So, the purpose of this paper is to address the regional public transportation dispatching problem, while taking into account the association between the departure time of buses and the waiting time of passengers. A bi-objective optimization model for regional public transportation scheduling is established to minimize the total waiting cost of passengers and to maximize the comprehensive service rate of buses. Moreover, a nsga-ii algorithm with adaptive adjusted model for crossover and mutation probability is designed to obtain the Pareto solution set of this problem, and the entropy weight-TOPSIS method is utilized to make a decision. Then the algorithms are compared with examples, and the results show that the model is feasible, and the proposed algorithms are achievable in solving the regional public transportation scheduling problem.

Research on sustainable carrying capacity of urban tourism environment based on multi objective optimization algorithm

As tourism becomes more and more strategic in the development of modern cities, the state and government are paying more attention to the tourism environment than ever before. The development of the tourism environment involves many interests such as residents, local government and enterprises, which can cause serious harm to the city's economy and environment if not handled properly. Therefore, it is necessary to optimize the carrying capacity of the tourism environment. The study improves the crossover, mutation and elite strategies of nondominated sorting genetic algorithm ii (nsga-ii), and establishes a multi-objective optimization model of urban tourism environment based on this. The results showed that the improved algorithm had a faster convergence speed and the resulting solutions were more uniformly distributed for both the variance probability of 0.005 and 0.05. Compared with the traditional nsga-ii algorithm and the multi-objective genetic algorithm, the Pareto solution set obtained does not appear to be missing in the interval [0,1] and is more widely distributed. In the tests of the DTLZ1 and DTLZ2 functions, the IGD variance values of the improved algorithm were 1.745 E+01 and 3.315E-03, respectively, which showed strong stability. In the empirical analysis, the optimization results obtained by the improved algorithm in the peak, low and flat tourism seasons are more reasonable and maintain a high degree of balance, indicating that it can provide effective guidance for the sustainable development of the urban tourism environment.

Parameter Optimization of Intercalated Meltblown Nonwovens Based on nsga-ii

The preparation process parameters of intercalated meltblown nonwoven materials are complicated, and the relationship between process parameters, structural variables, and product performance needs to be investigated to establish a good mechanism for product performance regulation. In this study, we first used Wilcoxon test and Pearson correlation analysis to investigate the effect of intercalation rate on structural variables and product performance. Then, regression models were constructed to predict the values of each structural variable under different combinations of process parameters. Finally, we constructed a multi-objective constrained optimization problem based on the stepwise regression model and the product variable conditions. The problem was solved using the nsga-ii algorithm. The optimal was achieved when the acceptance distance was 2.892 cm and the hot air speed was 2000 r/min.

Location-allocation-routing for emergency shelters based on geographical information system (ArcGIS) by nsga-ii (case study: Earthquake occurrence in Tehran (District-1))

The purpose of this study is to locate temporary shelters and assign injured people to the shelters. Routing people from destroyed areas to newly constructed shelters (in order to conduct rescue operations in the event of an earthquake) based on a case study of one of Tehran's densest areas (District 1) and the extent to which it is vulnerable to the occurrence of a possible earthquake is also considered. Some criteria influenced by the natural and physical characteristics of the desired area have been developed to accomplish this. The characteristics of this area are considered using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software for determining the affected areas (as the demand points), and the ideal locations for shelters construction. Based on mathematical modeling, the optimal locations for shelters have been determined to allocate injured individuals to those shelters. Due to the existence of uncertainty regarding activated fault, their magnitude, severity, and the amount of demand for rescue services, multiple scenarios for earthquake occurrence have been considered, and the model is presented as a two-stage robust scenario-based optimization problem. The Non-Dominated Sorting Genetic algorithm (nsga-ii) is proposed to solve the problem. The computational results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methodology. Suitable locations for construction of shelters, allocating shelters to affected areas, the optimal route for collecting people, the arrival time of each vehicle in each affected area, the total rescue time, the required budget, and the number of injured people collected from each area are the outputs of the model. This study aims to develop an adaptable and rational system for crisis relief in cities with varying characteristics.
