New hybrid between nsga-iii with multi-objective particle swarm optimization to multi-objective robust optimization design for Powertrain mount system of electric vehicles

In this study, a new methodology, hybrid nsga-iii with multi-objective particle swarm optimization (Hnsga-iii&MOPSO), has been developed to design and achieve cost optimization of Powertrain mount system stiffness parameters. This problem is formalized as a multi-objective optimization problem involving six optimization objectives: mean square acceleration and mean square displacement of the Powertrain mount system. A hybrid Hnsga-iii&MOPSO is proposed with the integration of multi-objective particle swarm optimization and a genetic algorithm (nsga-iii). Several benchmark functions are tested, and results reveal that the Hnsga-iii&MOPSO is more efficient than the typical multi-objective particle swarm optimization, nsga-iii. Powertrain mount system stiffness parameter optimization with Hnsga-iii&MOPSO is simulated, respectively. It proved the potential of the Hnsga-iii&MOPSO for Powertrain mount system stiffness parameter optimization problem. The amplitude of the acceleration of the vehicle frame decreased by 22.8%, and the amplitude of the displacement of the vehicle frame reduced by 12.4% compared to the normal design case. The calculation time of the algorithm Hnsga-iii&MOPSO is less than the algorithm nsga-iii, that is, 5 and 6 h, respectively, compared to the algorithm multi-objective particle swarm optimization.

Finding of urban rainstorm and waterlogging disasters based on microblogging data and the location-routing problem model of urban emergency logistics

Due to the climate change and the rapid progress of urbanization, extreme weather disasters such as urban rainstorm and waterlogging are frequent. Therefore, how to find the waterlogging points in the presence of disasters and how to optimize the distribution of urban emergency logistics and reduce the negative impact of disasters have become a hot and difficult issue for government departments and scholars. First of all, the idea and method of using the big data of microblogging to obtain urban rainstorm and waterlogging disasters and public sentiment are put forward. In addition,this thesis constructed the location-routing problem model of urban emergency logistics in the situation of rainstorm and waterlogging disaster, and found out the dynamic emergency distribution path of Nanjing in the situation of waterlogging disaster by using nsga-iii algorithm. Research shows that the risk management of urban rainstorm and waterlogging disasters, together with social media data, is a feasible way to obtain on-site data of disasters and carry out risk assessment of disasters. At the same time, the emergency logistics location-positioning model and algorithm can provide a reference for similar disaster emergency logistics distribution network and the conclusion can provide empirical reference for cities to cope with rainstorm and waterlogging disasters.

Aim at the problem that existing rerouting model ignores aircraft flight safety at the intersection, the paper proposes a rerouting strategy that considers the flight interval and the air route capacity constraints. According to the actual situation of air transport, the planning objective is to minimize the delay and cost of rerouting. In combination with the relevant constraints, a multi-aircraft rerouting strategy model under dangerous weather is established which can be solved by nsga-iii algorithm. Finally, the simulation analysis is carried out with the local transportation network as an example. The results show that the rerouting strategy can effectively reduce the time and cost of delays and improve the transportation efficiency and safety.

Multi-label classification constructs a model on instances which are associated to a set of labels. Similar to traditional single-label classification, redundant and irrelevant features degrade the performance of classification in terms of multiple criteria. So, feature selection task can be modeled as optimizing several conflicting objectives in a large search space simultaneously. Minimizing the number of features and the error of classification are two well-known objectives which are considered in several multi-objective feature selection methods. In addition of these objectives, the computational complexity of features is one of the most important properties of selected features which should be minimized as a crucial objective. As a result, it is desired to select less complex features while offer a higher classification accuracy. The key contribution of this paper is proposing a many-objective optimization method, for first time, to select best subset of features for multi-label data based on four objectives including number of features, two classification error measures (i.e., Hamming loss and Ranking loss), and the complexity of selected features. The defined many-objective optimization problem is solved using a proposed binary version of nsga-iii algorithm. In order to evaluate the proposed algorithm (i.e., binary nsga-iii), a benchmarking is conducted on eight multi-label datasets in terms of several multi-objective assessment. Experimental results show significant improvements for proposed method in comparison with nsga-II approach.

Emerging energy storage is a critical technology for achieving carbon peak and neutrality goals, serving as a vital support for establishing a new power system predominantly based on renewable energy sources. It also facilitates the creation of a competitive and flexible resource market. With a variety of emerging energy storage technologies available, their participation in electricity markets entails diverse operational mechanisms and economic benefits. This paper explores the operational mechanisms of three typical energy storage technologies in the electricity market. Based on this exploration, it conducts a comparative analysis of the economic benefits of different energy storage technologies participating in the electricity energy market, while further considering the impact of capacity markets on the economic viability of various energy storage technologies. The study reveals that, in the absence of capacity market participation, economically mature energy storage technologies demonstrate significantly higher economic viability compared to other types of technologies. With the inclusion of capacity markets, energy storage technologies with longer duration capabilities can achieve higher economic benefits, providing valuable insights for the future development of energy storage technologies. © 2024 IEEE.

Investigation on energy-saving distillation for separating tetrahydrofuran/ methanol/water ternary azeotropic system

The separation of ternary wastewater, with relatively high methanol and low tetrahydrofuran, from the production of 1,4-butanediol via maleic anhydride is a challenging separation issue in chemical or pharmaceutical engineering nowadays. Here we strive to explore an efficient separation method to recycle the wastewater. The triple-column extractive distillation with concentration column (TED), pressure-swing azeotropic distillation process combining of the concentration column (PSAD) and the reactive coupling pressure-swing azeotropic distillation (RCPSAD) encompasses ethylene oxide (EO) hydration reaction is presented. A simultaneous optimization strategy is proposed to optimize the parameters through the non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (nsga-iii) taking the economic and environment indexes as the objectives, and the exergy analysis is adopted to evaluate the thermodynamic efficiency. Results show that the pressure-swing azeotropic distillation process (PSAD) is superior in terms of total annual cost of 2.46 x 106$/y and CO2 emissions of 0.90 x 107 kg/y when compared to the other two processes and the reactive coupling pressure-swing azeotropic distillation (RCPSAD) with the exergy efficiency of 54.72 %, making it the most energy-saving process. Providing a paradigm of sustainable separation of THF/methanol/water with low content of key components.

Structural Optimization Design of Dual Robot Gripper Unloading Device Based on Intelligent Optimization algorithms and Generative Design

The main aim of this paper is to explore new approaches to structural design and to solve the problem of lightweight design of structures involving multivariable and multi-objectives. An integrated optimization design methodology is proposed by combining intelligent optimization algorithms with generative design. Firstly, the meta-model is established to explore the relationship between design variables, quality, strain energy, and inherent energy. Then, employing the Non-dominated Sorting Genetic algorithm iii (nsga-iii), the optimal frameworks of the structure are sought within the entire design space. Immediately following, a structure is rebuilt based on the principle of cooperative equilibrium. Furthermore, the rebuilt structure is integrated into a generative design, enabling automatic iteration by controlling the initial parameter set. The quality and rigidity of the structure under different reconstructions are evaluated, resulting in solution generation for structural optimization. Finally, the optimal structure obtained is validated. Research outcomes indicate that the quality of structures generated through the comprehensive optimization method is reduced by 27%, and the inherent energy increases by 0.95 times. Moreover, the overall structural deformation is less than 0.003 mm, with a maximum stress of 3.2 MPa-significantly lower than the yield strength and meeting industrial usage standards. A qualitative study and analysis of the experimental results substantiate the superiority of the proposed methodology for optimized structural design.

An adaptive protection coordination scheme for microgrids with optimum PV resources

Nowadays, microgrids provide several economic and environmental benefits for customers, investors, and power networks. Their practical implementation, however, has several technical challenges such as energy management, control, and protection. The protection coordination is a crucial problem in microgrids with high penetration of renewable-based distributed generations such as photovoltaic units. In previous studies, despite the network's need for maximum photovoltaic resources, the installed capacity of these resources was assumed to be constant and limited due to the miscoordination of protective devices as a result of increasing network shortcircuit level. This paper presents an optimal adaptive protection coordination scheme in microgrids with optimum penetration levels of photovoltaic resources without dependency on communication infrastructures, such as ways of communication between relays and central control room for analyzing all relay signals depends on fault condition and changing the setting step in adaptive relays. The proposed methodology can generally increase the penetration level of photovoltaic resources while minimizing the generation costs of photovoltaic resources by optimizing the installation capacity of each bus. The proposed adaptive protection coordination is achieved without changing the settings of existing protective devices. The optimal capacity of photovoltaic resources is updated through optimization algorithms such as non-dominate storing genetic algorithm considering several constraints including loss and cost minimization and voltage limits.

Optimization of agricultural planting structure in irrigation areas of Heilongjiang province considering the constraints of water resource system resilience

From the perspective of sustainable development in irrigation areas, imperfect constraints, which have negatively impacted previous agricultural planting structure optimization models, tend to produce unreasonable optimization results. Thus, in this paper, attempts are made to incorporate the resilience of water resource systems into the constraint set and explore the optimal layout of agricultural planting structures in irrigation areas. We selected 12 sample irrigation areas in Heilongjiang Province, China, including Chahayang, Fuyu, and Tailai, as the research areas and considered their actual situations. Then, we established a multiobjective optimization model for an agricultural planting structure with rice, soybean, and corn planting areas as decision variables;socioeconomic benefits, agricultural production benefits, ecological benefits, and water resource benefits as objective functions;and water resource system resilience and net crop output value and other factors as constraints. Fifteen scenarios were assessed through the combination of objective functions, and the nondominated sorting genetic algorithm iii (nsga-iii) was used to optimize and analyze the agricultural planting structure of typical irrigation areas in Heilongjiang Province and to determine the optimal planting plan. The research results found that the function values adjusted by planting area have significantly improved compared to those before optimization. The adjustment trend of agricultural planting area is to increase the planting area of rice and soybean and reduce the planting area of corn. The introduction of constraints on water resource system resilience ensures that other benefits remain basically unchanged;thus, the water resource objective function is significantly better with resilience constraints than without them. Multi-objective optimal allocation of water resources in Shule River Basin of Northwest China based on climate change scenarios

The optimal allocation of water resources is crucial for addressing regional water scarcity, adapting to climate change, and promoting sustainable development. This study focused on the Shule River Basin and considered three climate scenarios (SSP1-2.6, SSP2-4.5, SSP5-8.5), which is combinations of Shared Socioeconomic Pathways (SSPs) and Representative Concentration Pathways (RCPs). A water resources optimal allocation model including water supply and demand prediction, multi-objective optimization, decision-making and analysis on optimal water allocation schemes was constructed. This model aims to analyze the optimal allocation of water resources in the Shule River Basin over three planning years (2025, 2030, 2035), considering guarantee rates of 50 % and 75 % under various climate scenarios. The obtained results indicate that: (1) An increasing trend in water demand in the planning year. For instance, under the SSP1-2.6 scenario, the basin's water demand is projected to reach 1.920x10<^>9 m3, 2.037x10<^>9 m3, and 2.103x10<^>9 m3 in 2025, 2030, and 2035, respectively. (2) The total water supply with a guarantee rate of 50 % (75 %) in the planning years is projected to be 1.939 (1.483)x10<^>9, 1.957(1.502) x10<^>9, and 1.974 (1.519) x10<^>9 m3, respectively. (3) In the three scenarios of SSP1-2.6, SSP2-4.5, and SSP5-8.5, the water demand for domestic and ecology is met in each planning year. There is a slight water shortage in the industrial sector, with a shortage rate ranging from 0 % to 13.41 %. The agricultural sector experiences the highest water shortage, with a rate of 1.93-44.77 %. (4) The water supply structure of each optimal allocation scheme of water resources was optimized. The economic benefits mainly depend on the industrial and ecological sectors. These findings offer valuable insights for optimizing the distribution of regional water resources in response to changing climatic conditions.
