Extraction of Semantic Links from a Document-Oriented nosql Database

The prior declaration of a schema when creating a database (db) is not necessary for most nosql systems. This “Schemaless” property is important since it provides undeniable flexibility during data exploitation. However, the absence of schema is a major obstacle to the expression of precise queries on a db. A new area of research has emerged to allow users of Schemaless nosql systems to visualize the schema of the data. Research works have proposed schema extraction processes, but these solutions are generally limited. In our previous works (Abdelhedi et al. in Proceedings of the 10th international conference on model-driven engineering and software development, pp 61–71. https://***/10.5220/0010899000003119, 2022), we proposed a logical schema extraction process for a document-oriented nosql db to address the needs of a medical application. In this paper, we extend this process to additional relationship types. To do this, we use the model driven architecture which proposes a development method based on metamodeling and the definition of transformation rules. The db schema is obtained by applying a set of transformation rules to the specifications extracted from the db. The interest of our process is to produce a schema that allows users of a nosql db to build complex and precise queries. This is useful for both computer scientists who create a large number of complex queries as well as for decision makers who often have difficulty in apprehending the semantic of the data. Massive databases or Big Data are generally managed by nosql systems. Most of these systems are schemaless, meaning that the schema is not predefined;it is provided as the database (db) is fed. This property increases data flexibility. However, the absence of a schema is a major obstacle for expressing complex queries and for the semantic analysis of data. In our previous work [1], we proposed a process for extracting the logical schema of a document-oriented nosql db;this schema allows to describe the structure of the data stored in the db and thus facilitates query writing. But to understand the meaning of the data and its structure, a conceptual schema is the most appropriate tool, since it ignores the technical aspects linked to implementation. In this paper, we propose a process for transforming the logical schema of a db into a UML-type conceptual schema. It shows the object classes and semantic links (association, composition and inheritance) contained in the db. Based on Model Driven Architecture (MDA), our process relies on metamodels and a set of transformation rules to automatically produce the conceptual schema from the logical schema. We experimented our process using a medical application.

The TANGO controls framework community has put a lot of effort in creating the Hdb++software system that is an high performance, event-driven archiving system. Its design allows storing data into traditional database management systems such as MySQL as well as nosql database such as Apache Cassandra. The architecture allow also to easily extend it to other nosql database like, for instance, Elasticsearch. This paper describes the extension for Elasticsearch made and how to use it alongside its graphical tool called Kibana.

Deep learning (DL) algorithms require, to be fully effective, harvesting an increasingly large amount of data. These data, typically organized as millions of small files, stress filesystems and are difficult to manage. In fact, despite the huge development of DL tools and specialized hardware, data loading pipeline for DL still lacks behind in ease of use, standardization and scalability. In this work we try to rethink the data loading pipeline, by leveraging nosql dbs for storing both data and metadata, making them efficiently available through the network, and allowing easier data distribution for parallel DL training. We present our open-source, Apache Cassandra-based data loader and illustrate its use and performance, which enable easy and efficient data management and decentralized data distribution for parallel learning applications.

This paper aims to study the feasibility, reliability, load balancing ability and high availability of VoLTE core network in cloud computing environment. By utilizing the mindset of SaaS (software as a service), and based on the general standard of cloud servers, storage and network equipment, along with the use of IT virtualization to deploy telecommunications equipment in the cloud computing environment. The cloud platform which is based on virtualization technology has better scalability and computing power, and is the direction of the next generation network. At the same time, it should not only meet the functional requirements, but also meet the requirements carrier-grade high reliability and capacity for disaster tolerance. In this paper, N + K mode and nosql db are used as data storage methods to achieve load balancing and high availability.

In today's open market, e-commerce has developed its strategy to process various business applications. There applications are developed with the platforms like Magento, Zen Cart, Prestashop, Spree etc., to run a successful online store. These are also used for customer e-commerce apps and require a scalable database for storing the data. The nosql database provides an efficient storage access and processing environment with horizontally scalable and replicable strategy over RdbMS. Because of its schema less structure, nosql databases provides access to the users to dynamically change the data model applications. Due to this characteristics, nosql databases are being used in real time analysis. In order to build a successful online and scalable store, in this study, we choose the database as Document-Oriented nosql database for the inclusion of e-commerce workflow. As a new finding, in this study, we will ascertain design and working strategy of e-commerce based on Mongodb, which is a widely used Document-Oriented nosql database to process large scale business applications.
