Procurement is one of the main forms of acquisition of the Federal Government and are subject to fraud and corruption. In this context, many institutions such as the Brazilian Office of the Controller General try to identify fraud evidences, e.g., use of queries in databases with information about partnership of companies owned by the same group of people to simulate competition. However, many of these queries are manual or limited by the use of information systems databases. This paper explore the benefits of using graph nosql databases to identify the relationships between companies to detect fraud in procurement. A case study was carried out to validate the use of nosql databases using companies' partnership information based on queries defined by the CGU's auditors.

databases are necessary for the growth of the cloud computing to efficiently manage large amounts of data. For real-time data processing in Not only Structured Query Language (nosql) databases, effective index services are critical and when it comes to enhancing nosql database performance, index selection is crucial. A Deep Reinforcement Learning Index Selection Method (DRLISM) is used for choosing indexes in nosql databases. To maximize database performance, various indexes and their various characteristics are selected for various workloads. In order to determine an optimum index for specific workload as well as adapt to a dynamic workload, the DRLISM builds on the Modified Beetle Antenna Optimisation with Sparrow Search Optimisation (DRLISM-MBAOSSO). According to standard single index structures, experimental data indicate that DRLISM has better performance in terms of increased throughput to varied degrees. Similarly, when compared with conventional approaches such as: Integrating Rules and Reinforcement Learning to Improve Index Recommendation (RBOIRA) and Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL), the proposed DRLISM-MBAOSSO achieved a higher throughput of 99.73%.

One implementation of a hybrid database is in Android applications. In the context of the dynamic and diverse development of Android applications, a strategic approach to selecting database technology is essential. The researchers attempted to integrate SQL and nosql databases in an Android application to simplify the utilization of physical servers, reduce costs, and enhance response time and application scalability. This development leverages Firebase Cloud Server for nosql and a single server for SQL, thus saving memory usage by storing nosql in the cloud and SQL and local storage. This improvement is deployed in a student learning style data application with the goal of improving the application’s performance in recording students’ learning styles. With a more optimized and faster database, animations and images in Augmented Reality and Virtual reality applications can be displayed more quickly and without delay. The proposed method consists of an architecture integrating SQL databases on a local server and nosql on Firebase Firestore, implementing a query direct access and change data capture approach. The testing results showed that the execution time for CDC was 5 minutes and 38 seconds, whereas for QDA, the rendering time of the application interface was 1 minute and 45 seconds. Furthermore, all applications using SQL and nosql database types were successfully executed on various Android versions, ranging from Android 8 to Android 11.

Data migration from legacy systems to modern environments, such as migrating DB2 from z/OS to the cloud, often requires significant effort and time. Customers often encounter confusion when determining the appropriate migration route, use case, and efficient movement of source data to the target data repository. This paper explores various migration patterns and provides recommendations on target technology and platform selection. We propose a core Data Elements Migration (cDEM) strategy, focusing on schema, objects, and data volume, rather than a complete data warehouse. By enabling users to quickly assess workload, extract core data elements, map components from the source data pool to the target repository, and evaluate data volume and migration complexity, this approach reduces workload and accelerates the overall process. The model presented in this paper illustrates the migration of end-to-end data objects from legacy DB2 on z/OS to the public cloud, specifically Azure SQL Server as a demonstration case, while remaining applicable to other cloud providers and popular data repositories like MySQL.

The fast increasing amount of massive and complex data in today's Internet, called Big Data, requires sophisticated, comprehensive and highly operational databases. nosql databases are designed to fulfill Big Data requirements. Choosing an appropriate nosql database among various solutions to cover and manage big volume of data in Big Data, both in quantity and quality, itself is a big challenge. Cassandra is one of the distributed nosql databases mastered for managing very large amounts of structured and unstructured data spread out across many commodity servers, while providing highly available services with no single point of failure. Cassandra system was designed to run on cheap commodity hardware and handle high write through-put while not sacrificing read efficiency. This Paper will first present an overview of nosql databases, Big Data and IoT data as a controversial and complicated source of data in Big Data. Then, focuses on Cassandra database read request issues in its read path and suggests a model to reduce the time of read request (read query) coming from client side to Cassandra database. In this model we added a cache called Coordinator cache in Cassandra controlling nodes. Using a real dataset, we perform an analysis of Cassandra existing read path with suggested read path model and then compare the time of a read query before and after this model. The result shows that using Coordinator cache together with key cache offered by Cassandra database speedup data read request. Coordinator cache requires no extra memory because Cassandra Coordinator node does not store anything when doing controlling tasks over replica nodes and its potential memory space can be used for the introduced Coordinator cache.

In microservice applications, ensuring resilience during database or service disruptions constitutes a significant challenge. While several tools address resilience testing for service failures, there is a notable gap in tools specifically designed for resilience testing of database failures. To bridge this gap, we have developed an extension for fault injection in database clients, which we integrated into Filibuster, an existing tool for fault injection in services within mi-croservice applications. Our tool systematically simulates database disruptions, thereby enabling comprehensive testing and evaluation of application resilience. It is versatile, supporting a range of both SQL and nosql database systems, such as Redis, Apache Cassandra, CockroachDB, PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB. A defining feature is its integration during the development phase, comple-mented by an IntelliJ IDE plugin, which offers developers visual feedback on the types, locations, and impacts of injected faults. Nowadays, nosql technologies are gaining significant ground and considered as the future of data storage, especially when it comes to huge amount of data, which is the case of data warehouse solutions. nosql databases provide high scalability and good performance among relational ones, which are really time consuming and can't handle large data volume. The growing popularity of the term nosql these days and vaguely related phrases like big data make us think about using this technology in decision support systems. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the possibility to instantiate a big data mart under one of the most popular and least complicated types of nosql databases; namely key-value store, the main challenge is to make a good correlation between the old-school approach of data warehousing based on traditional databases that favor data integrity, and interesting opportunities offered by new generation of database management systems. The paper describes the transformation process from multidimensional conceptual schema to the logical model following three approaches, and outlines a list of strengths and weaknesses for each one based on practical experience under Oracle nosql Database.

Data accumulating in data lakes can become inaccessible in the long run when its semantics are not available. The heterogeneity of data formats and the sheer volumes of data collections prohibit cleaning and unifying the data manually. Thus, tools for automated data lake analysis are of great interest. In this paper, we target the particular problem of reconstructing the schema evolution history from data lakes. Knowing how the data is structured, and how this structure has evolved over time, enables programmatic access to the lake. By deriving a sequence of schema versions, rather than a single schema, we take into account structural changes over time. Moreover, we address the challenge of detecting inclusion dependencies. This is a prerequisite for mapping between succeeding schema versions, and in particular, detecting nontrivial changes such as a property having been moved or copied. We evaluate our approach for detecting inclusion dependencies using the MovieLens dataset, as well an adaption of a dataset containing botanical descriptions, to cover specific edge cases.

How MongoDB a nosql database for efficient data storage in MERN stack application is investigated here in this research paper. With the growing popularity of the MERN stack in web development the performance, scalability, security and flexibility becomes important when selecting a database. The database must be secure, fast and scalable. MongoDB has a schema less Architecture. Its document-oriented nosql database fits nicely with the dynamic and fluid design which is needed in the MERN applications. The foal of the work is to show through examinations how MongoDB offers the best solution in MERN based applications and how it is best possible database for efficient data storage.

Nowadays, big data influences many aspects of human life. They help in medicine with diagnosing different illnesses, in traffic with watching of traffic accidents, and of course, they have a crucial role in supporting decisions. It is appropriate to test another database, respectively, another database type, in every operation's unsatisfactory performance by using a set database. A transformation process is needed in this case. Big Data entering this database has a different structure and size, which influences the set transformation process's time difficulty. The transformation process changes the data structure, from relational to nonrelational, respectively nonrelational to a relational database, making it possible to stop the process or an error that can end up with an incomplete change of a data structure and the data this process must have been repeated. “Version” system we created in this paper is, in the case of incomplete data change, respectively failure of transformation process during the transformation of a relational database to a nonrelational or nonrelational database to relational, capable of continuing from the error point of the previous approach, and so it can erase necessity to perform whole transformation process from the very first beginning.
