nosql database management system is introduced to tackle different sorts of challenges, including performing operations on unstructured, semi-structured, and structured data. nosql databases gained popularity because of the improved performance than the SQL databases. We aim to investigate the nosql system's performance, namely MongoDB and Cassandra and SQL database, namely MySQL for DNA sequences data from the COVID-19 dataset. Studies of the DNA sequences are essential for medical diagnosis and biotechnology. However, it is quite challenging to store these genomics data in a traditional RDMS because of their unstructured nature. nosql is an efficient solution for textual characters like genomics data. We used around 3GB of human genome data from the COVID-19 dataset provided by NCBI. The original data was in the FASTA format, and we process these data into JSON format. Also, we have analyzed the different query syntax, data load time, and query performance time for the genomics data.

Currently, a large volume of heterogeneous data is generated and consumed by several classes of applications, which raise a new family of database models called nosql. nosql graph databases is a member of this family. They provide high scalability and are schemaless, i.e., they do not require an implicit schema such as relational databases. However, the knowledge of how data is structured may be of great importance for data integration or data analysis processes. There are some works in the literature that extract the schema from graph structures or graph-based data sources. Different from them, this work proposes a comprehensive approach that consider all the common nosql database graph data model concepts, and generates a schema in the recent JSON Schema recommendation. Experimental evaluations show that our solution generates a suitable schema representation with a linear complexity.

Machine learning (ML) algorithms have been widely applied to data analytics and prediction. This paper extends our previous work, which proposed how to automatically convert data from the traditional SQL database to the new nosql database, to support the entity-relationship (ER) model. Based on our experimental results over two different cloud platforms, the nosql database can always provide better performance than the SQL database while executing ML algorithms.

The study offers an analysis of nosql document store databases focusing on MongoDB, Couchbase, and CouchDB and includes an integrated Proof of Concept (POC) along with a research-based comparison. It begins with an overview of the evolving landscape of Database Management Systems (DBMS) highlighting the role of nosql databases in overcoming the limitations of traditional relational databases. The research includes a contextual evaluation and qualitative comparison of the three databases incorporating performance metrics to gauge their suitability for various applications. MongoDB is identified as the best in query performance (1.5 ms), transaction support, and integration with cloud platforms. Couchbase shows competitive scalability and good query performance (2.6ms) while CouchDB lacks ACID transactions, optimization, and support barriers and shows query time (6 ms), This analysis highlights each database's strengths and weaknesses providing key insights for real-world deployment.

nosql (Not Only SQL) systems are becoming popular due to known advantages such as horizontal scalability and elasticity. In this paper, we study the implementation of multidimensional data warehouses based on column-oriented nosql systems. To do this, we define a set of mapping rules that transform a conceptual multidimensional data model into a logical column-oriented model. We consider three ways (three sub-models) to structure conceptual multidimensional data model into a column-oriented model. Then, we show an implementation of the proposed rules. Finally, we focus, through experiment, on data loading, model-to-model conversion and OLAP cuboid computation.

New generation databases also called nosql (Not only SQL) databases are highly scalable, flexible, and low-latent. These types of databases emerge as a result of the rigidity shown by traditional databases to handle today's data which is voluminous, highly diversified and generated at a very high rate. With nosql, problems such as database expansion difficulties, low query performance and low storage capacity are addressed. However, the inherent complexity of contemporary datasets coupled with programmers' low nosql modeling competence are increasingly making database modeling and design vastly challenging, especially when parameters like consistency, availability and scalability are to be balanced in accordance with system requirements. As such, a schema suggestion model for nosql databases is posed to address this balancing issue. The proposed model aims to abstractly suggest schemas at the initial stage of system development based on user defined system requirements and CRUD (Create, Read, Update and Delete) operations among others. This is achieved through the adaptation of exploratory and experimental approaches of research. Also, few mathematical formulas are introduced to calculate clusters availability during entity mappings. A comparison was conducted between the schema produced using the proposed model and the one without. Results obtained shows substantial improvement in the areas of security and read-write query performance.

Relation database has been a universal solution for any system, allowing manipulating various types of data and creating complex relationship between them for over forty years. RDBMS are not adapted to work with unstructured and semi-structured data and the increase the number of such data has led to the emergence of nosql (Not only SQL) database models. The article presents the method of investigating the possibility of transformation relational databases to a configuration from a relational and document-oriented database, based on an assessment of the speed of query execution. The main problems of using relational databases and prerequisites for the transition to nosql databases are highlighted.

Most nosql databases are schemaless. Although they offer some flexibility, they do not have any knowledge of the database schema, losing the benefits provided by these schemas. It is generally accepted that data modelling can have an impact on performance, consistency, usability, and maintainability. We argue that nosql databases need data models that ensure the proper storage and the relevant querying of the data. This paper seeks to present and illustrate an MDA-based approach, allowing us to achieve a reverse engineering of nosql property graph databases into an Extended Entity-Relationship schema. The approach is applied to the case of Neo4j graph database. We present an illustrative scenario and evaluate the reverse engineering approach.

Recent studies show that developers encounter difficulties when evolving microservices architectures, especially from a code and data management perspective. Specifically, they struggle to recover a high-level view, although essential for understanding and maintaining complex interactions across various microservices codebases and their databases. This paper introduces an approach for systematically analyzing data access code fragments in complex applications composed of multiple microservices and distributed across several codebases. By combining heuristic-based code analysis with natural language processing, the approach holistically identify, extracts, interprets, and documents the interactions between these microservices and their databases. The resulting report is designed to support software evolution tasks, such as locating or visualizing linked data access code fragments. A preliminary evaluation on 5 JavaScript microservices architectures with MongoDB and Redis provides emerging results.

Modern web applications are increasingly data-intensive and handle a wide variety of semi-structured and unstructured data. Traditional relational databases were not designed to manage such data, and using them often leads to complications in storage, retrieval, and performance degradation. As a result, nosql databases have become more popular in recent years. With key advantages such as high performance, scalability, and support for diverse data structures, nosql databases are particularly well suited for handling large volumes of data, making them a popular choice for small businesses seeking efficient storage solutions. However, storing sensitive information in these databases makes them targets for attackers aiming to steal data or compromise applications. One of the major security threats to nosql databases is nosql injection, which attackers exploit to gain unauthorized access. This research investigates how MongoDB-based web applications can be exploited through simulated nosql injection attacks, examines their impact, and evaluates mitigation techniques to prevent these security risks. The findings aim to help nosql database developers understand the mechanisms of nosql injection attacks and implement stronger security measures to protect sensitive data.
