The Internet of Things (IoT) has emerged as a transformative technology that has revolutionized the field of healthcare. One of the most promising applications of Internet of Things (IoT) in healthcare is patient health monitoring, which allows healthcare providers to remotely monitor patients' health and provide prompt medical attention when needed. This research work focuses on developing an Internet of Things (IoT)-based patient health monitoring system aimed at providing a solution for patients, particularly the elderly, who face the risk of unexpected death due to the lack of medical attention. The proposed system utilizes a heartbeat sensor and an Infrared IR temperature sensor connected to Arduino UNO and nodemcu, respectively, to monitor the patient's vital signs. The sensors collect the data, which is then sent to an Internet of Things (IoT) web platform via a Wi-Fi connection. The Internet of Things (IoT) platform displays the real-time data of the patient's health status, including the temperature and heartbeat rate, which can be monitored by doctors and nurses. The system is designed to send alerts to healthcare providers in the event of any medical emergency, ensuring that prompt medical attention can be provided to the patient. The significance of this research work lies in its potential to revolutionize the healthcare industry by providing a more efficient and effective means of patient health monitoring. The system can be used to monitor a large number of patients simultaneously, which is particularly beneficial in hospitals with a large patient load. Moreover, it can reduce the workload of healthcare providers, allowing them to focus on other critical tasks. This innovative system has the potential to improve the overall quality of healthcare services and lead to better health outcomes for the society.

Nowadays, almost half of the world's population is exposed to air pollution. Sources of pollutants come from energy production, households, industry, transportation, and so on. One of the targets of the sustainable development goals agenda is to pay special attention to air quality to obtain the comfort of residents in their daily activities. To determine the level of air pollution in a certain place, an instrumentation system is needed that can measure the levels of pollutants in that place. This paper describes the development of a low-cost air quality measurement system using the MQ-7 and MQ-135 gas sensors. The detected gases consist of carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2), and ammonia (NH3). The information from the sensor is then processed by the nodemcu esp8266 module which can then be accessed via a certain internet-of-things platform, namely ThingSpeak, and a cloud-based messaging service, namely Telegram. Experimental results show that the concentration of pollutants in a certain place can be known at any time from the ThingSpeak dashboard. In addition, an alert system is created to notify the user about the number of pollutant concentrations and the effects of the presence of these pollutant gases.

Smart Home is an application of the Internet of Things that can maximize monitoring, control, and home security. User Interface of Smart Home Apps is part of the design to fulfill the requirement. To make it happen, the researcher created an intelligent home system using the nodemcu esp8266 microcontroller, which is connected to the android application on the smartphone. This system is connected to Firebase as a real-time database server using an internet connection. This system has several sensors such as PIR, LDR, and MQ-2 sensors. The PIR sensor functions as a motion detector in the room. The LDR sensor functions as a light detector, where if the light is detected in the room, lights 1 and 2 will turn off, and if not, lights 1 and 2 will turn on. The MQ-2 sensor functions as a flammable gas detector where if it is detected, the DC fan (blower) will turn on;if not, the DC fan (blower) will turn off. This system is equipped with a Secure Mode feature where when an unwanted movement (thief) is detected or flammable gas is seen, the buzzer (alarm) will light up. All components are placed in a prototype house measuring 40 x 25 cm. The method used in the design of the intelligent home system prototype method. While in the creation of innovative home applications using the waterfall method. Based on the test results, it can be concluded that the system works well. The response speed between the design and the android application on the smartphone depends on the internet connection, which in this test itself takes an average of 3 seconds.

Smart home is a house in which it has a control system that can control electronic equipment remotely. In this study, remote control of home electronic devices was carried out using social media that is widely used today, namely Facebook messenger. By providing triggers in the form of text on the Facebook Messenger chatbot, users can operate electronic devices anywhere. In this design, electronic equipment such as lights, fans, and doors are tested. the function of the lamp is to turn it off and on, the function of the fan is to display it, and the function of the door is to lock and unlock the door automatically. To connect software and hardware applications, this study utilizes the nodemcu esp8266 with a wifi connection. The esp8266 nodemcu connected to the internet can receive data that has been provided by the user via the Facebook messenger chatbot and also send data to the database. Text commands sent to the Facebook messenger chatbot are sent to the nodemcu esp8266 so that the command language can be accepted. The system has been tested with various kinds of tests and the level results that the success of the system in translating the appropriate text commands, turning on and off lights, turning on and off, and locking the door is 100%

Garbage poses threat to the environment and human health. Toxic gases may causes respiratory disorders and other health related problems. This research focuses on design and implementation of a sensor-based system to sense the existence of garbage gases, namely Methane (CH4), Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S), and Ammonia (NH3). Our sensor device consists of an Arduino Uno, a nodemcu esp8266, MQ-136, MQ-137, and TGS-2611 sensors. We implement two programs - an Arduino program at the sensor device and a PHP program that runs at the web server. In the experiments, the three sensors give higher values when the air is contaminated with garbage gas. The average sensor values from every sensor in the clean air and contaminated air experiments are 0.0904 ppm and 44.696 ppm for the MQ-137 sensor, 0.0624 ppm and 9.1884 ppm for the MQ-136 sensor, and 8.6236 ppm and 368.8128 ppm for the TGS-2611 sensor.

IoT based Smart shoe system for the blind is a system made with the help of ultrasonic sensors paired to an Arduino UNO board. Internet of things is all about making physical objects communicate with other objects or even with humans. It is an enabling technology which has a rapid development and growth in the market. In our India there are almost 40 million blind people among which 1.6 million are children. Blind people face great difficulty to travel independently. They have to depend on others in many aspects of their life. The Major problem is when they walk on the road. With a stick in hand they cannot detect every obstacle that comes in their way. The Smart shoe design provides a long-term solution for the blind to walk on roads independently. The smart shoe will help the Blind person to reach his destination independently. It is built using IoT Technology in which the shoe will be embedded with various sensors, Microcontroller and buzzers. The shoe warns the user by making noise with the buzzer when he/she walks in front of an obstacle. To improve the efficiency, Smart glasses are designed using IoT which is also embedded with sensors and helps in detecting the objects by covering a larger area. The smart shoe and the smart glasses communicate and coordinate with each other to ensure that the user does not collide with any obstacle in his way.

In the world of connectivity and wireless technology, the Internet started a revolution. The main idea is to wireless technology connect it all. All can be linked using various sensor types designed for various purposes via the Internet of things. The paper focuses mostly on a system for automating Streetlight and transferring data from Streetlight over the Internet. Depending on the environmental situation, this intelligent streetlight system can automatically switch the light on and off. A light reaction detector and a dampness & temp detector identify the ambient conditions. The Lamppost device operates and deactivates once the surroundings' brightness is lowered or increased beyond a preset temperature. The humidity detector can measure the atmospheric humidity levels to alter the hue of the roadway to offer better viewing in different climates.

It is noted that emergency vehicles no-longer apply caution when approaching an intersection. The assumption is that, the automated system should already be aware of the emergency vehicles arrival at the intersection. Considering the assumption, emergency vehicles tend to proceed through traffic intersections without visual confirmation of road priority assigned to them. This is a problem because, it is likely to become very accident prone. In this project, we have explored various traffic preemption applications and various problems of uncertainty, which accompany an intersection traffic light, giving full priority to an emergency vehicle. The proposed approach includes making an emergency vehicle driver see a visual evidence or confirmation of the light becoming Green a few meters before the vehicle approaches the intersection. Also considered is how a similar traffic preemption system can be applied on system such as that of Gibraltar International Airport. Where, a four-lane roadway is intersecting an airport runway. An implementation is also proposed for this application. The approach towards this system, includes designing a system with high communication response. An improved response time in the system, will significantly cut down traffic delay on airport runway intersection.

As many cases of accidents have been reported especially in industrial area, it is very crucial to take an initiative to reduce the accidents rate. The aim of this project is to design and develop an IoT device that is capable of monitoring human critical condition at industrial workplace. This device can help in giving forewarning to the person in charge about the surrounding of the worker if it is harmful for him/her. Besides, if the accident is already occurred, this device can help in reducing the time between the moment the accident happen and the moment the emergency care is taken to avoid any possible serious problem. This device uses several types of sensors to detect the surrounding temperature and air quality level, and movement of the user. The methods for developing this device is divided into three parts which is coding the microcontroller to accept the raw data, then connect the previous configuration with Wi-Fi module, and finally connect the whole previous data with web server, Thingspeak. The results succefully showed the reading from all sensors which include surrounding temperature, air quality level, normal and rotational acceleration, and emergency push button data. It is expected that this device can be one of the initiatives to help reducing the accidents rate in workplace especially in industrial area.

The IoT device provides the potential for obtaining data contextually, by observing and measuring the physical events occurring in the environment. Smart I tome has excellent interest by IoT device developers. Using a semantic approach to data processing on loT devices provides the ability to define, modify, and interpret better data. In this research uses nodemcu esp8266 as a microcontroller on sensor node and actuator node. Raspberry Pi3 is used as an agent that serves as a router and knowledge base. Both devices already support will connectivity to facilitate the communication process. The sensor node is responsible for collecting data derived from the sensors process of the sensor module, the data obtained is sent to the agent to be initialized and inserted into the ontology. The agent performs the reasoning process to change existing data on the ontology according to the rule created and produce more representative and contextual data. The Actuator node performs a query against the current status of the light on the ontology as a reference for the action of switching on or off the light. Smart home with the semantic approach was implementation in the form of lights on and off control system.
