In this paper, we present the definitions of nonfragile high-gain observers and design method for lower-triangular nonlinear systems with output uncertainty. Radial basis function neural networks (RBFNNs) are used to approximate the output uncertainty. By inserting an output filter and an input-output filter, a new augmented adaptive observable canonical form is derived. Then, a corresponding observer with gain perturbations is designed to estimate the states and the coefficients of the RBFNNs, and a disturbance observer is designed to estimate the approximation error. The maximum allowable gain perturbation is also given. Then, the obtained results are extended to nonlinear systems in adaptive observer form with output uncertainty. Finally, some numerical simulations are offered to corroborate the theoretical results.

For nonlinear uncertain switched systems, the problem of how to overcome the controller vulnerability is studied when the actuator saturation is considered. The sufficient condition for guaranteeing nonfragile robust exponential stabilization of the system is derived by using the method of minimum dwell time. Then, a switching law and the nonfragile state feedback controllers are designed such that the closed-loop system can be robustly exponentially stabilized at the origin. Next, when some scalar parameters of the closed-loop system are given, the design issue of the nonfragile state feedback controllers, which aim at enlarging the estimation of domain of attraction for closed-loop system, is transformed into a convex optimization issue with linear matrix inequalities (LMI) constraints. Finally, an example is given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

This paper is aimed at studying the nonfragile guaranteed cost (GC) control problem of discrete-time Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy systems with multiple quantizations, where multiple quantizations mean that both the state and input are quantized by diverse static quantizers before being transmitted over the networks. To fully consider the effects of quantizations, a new GC function is adopted, where the quantized state and quantized input instead of the normal state and normal input are contained. The nonfragile GC controller design criteria of the discrete-time Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy systems are derived, which are expressed as a set of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Then, based on the two-step design strategy, the corresponding GC controller parameters can be obtained easily via the LMI toolbox. Lastly, the validity of the proposed method is verified by two examples.

Asynchronous nonfragile Mixed H8 and L2 - L8 Control of Switched Fuzzy Systems With Multiple State Impulsive Jumps

This article investigates the asynchronous nonfragile mixed H-8 and L-2 - L-8 dynamical output feedback (DOF) control problem for switched Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy systems with multiple state impulsive jumps. The novelties lie in the following three aspects. First, the novel mixed H-8 and L-2 - L-8 performance index is adopted, which can include the H-8 performance and L-2 - L-8 performance indices as special cases. Second, besides the switching DOF control law for every subsystem, an additional controller state jump rule is employed at controller switching instant. Third, the "multiple state impulsive jumps" means that not only the system states, but also the controller states will jump, and these two different types of switching perform asynchronously. The average dwell time approach is used to design the switching law. By employing a new type of Lyapunov-like functions permitting to increase during the asynchronous period and jump at system switching and controller switching instants, new criteria are established to guarantee the asymptotical stability with a mixed H-8 and L-2 - L-8 performance index of the switched T-S fuzzy systems with multiple state impulsive jumps and asynchronous switching. Then, controller design conditions are obtained in the form of linear matrix inequalities. Finally, two examples are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the derived results.

This work addresses the nonfragile H infinity controller design problem for a class of discrete-time uncertain nonlinear systems. The norm-bounded uncertainty is contained in the nonlinear plant, which is described by the well-known Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model. The controller gain perturbation is also considered. When the input signal is transmitted from the controller to the system through the digital communication channels, it will be quantized by a static quantizer. The main attention is to design the nonfragile H infinity state-feedback controller for the closed-loop quantized uncertain T-S fuzzy system. By introducing some auxiliary scalars and the fuzzy basis-dependent Lyapunov function approach, sufficient conditions are established in the form of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). The construction for the nonfragile H infinity controller can be completed by solving these LMIs. In the end, the applicability and effectiveness of the proposed method have been illustrated by two simulation examples.

Memory nonfragile Output Feedback Robust MPC for Polytopic Time-delayed Systems with Constraints

This paper investigates memory nonfragile mixed-objective output feedback robust model predictive control (OFRMPC) for a class of uncertain systems subjected to physical constraint, bounded disturbance, unmeasurable delayed state and possible controller fragility. By employing a delay-independent Lyapunov-Krasovskii function and linear matrix inequality (LMI) framework, novel sufficient conditions for the proposed memory nonfragile OFRMPC are derived to asymptomatically stabilize the closed-loop system with guaranteed H-infinity/H-2 performance for all admissible polytopic uncertainties, external disturbance, state delay, and additive or multiplicative gain perturbation. A key technique for this controller is the online optimization of an infinite-horizon objective function followed by a memory output feedback control law based on the pre-specified offline state estimator using modified quadratic bounded conditions. Moreover, the input constraint and the recursive feasibility have been further guaranteed via additional LMI-based conditions. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed OFRMPC approach.

This work considers the design of nonfragile H,,, observer -based controller for nonlinear networked control systems (NCSs) subject to multipath packet dropouts. The nonlinear NCSs are modeled through the Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model. The occurrences of packet dropouts in the measurable output and the control input indicate the multipath packet dropouts. Two random sequences which are mutually independent and obey the Bernoulli distribution are adopted to represent the multipath packet dropouts. Unlike most existing works about the observer -based controller design, a novel observer design scheme is developed in this paper for the T-S fuzzy NCSs with packet dropouts, which does not require the observer to be designed to share the same local system parameters "Al"as the fuzzy plant. Then, by means of the Lyapunov function approach, sufficient conditions are developed to make certain that the controlled T-S fuzzy NCSs are stochastically stable with a H,,, performance index. Through adopting a twostep design method, the search for the local system parameters and gains of the observer and the controller gains is formulated as a feasibility problem of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Eventually, the effectiveness of the derived results is verified by an example.

nonfragile Sliding Mode Control of Discrete-Time T-S Fuzzy Singular System via a Previewable Approach

In this article, the nonfragile sliding mode control (SMC) problem is discussed for discrete-time T-S fuzzy singular systems (TSFSSs) using a previewable approach. First, an augmented system incorporating the tracking error and preview information is formulated based on lengths of preview information. Second, a fuzzy nonfragile sliding mode surface (SMS) is established for augmented error system based on both additive and multiplicative perturbations, and the sufficient conditions for sliding mode dynamics to be H infinity$$ {H}_{\infty } $$ admissibility are derived by designing suitable Lyapunov functionals. Then, a nonfragile preview SMC law is determined to ensure that the reachability condition is met. Finally, two examples are offered to demonstrate that the given preview SMC law can substantially improve the tracking performance of the original output.

This article investigates exponential synchronization for complex dynamical networks (CDNs) with nonfragile sampled-data feedback control. An important yet challenging problem that contains the time delays of the controller, the uncertainties occurrence and randomness of controller gain fluctuation due to the packet loss, and time delays during data transmission is to be solved. A novel Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional (LKF) that allows for more free matrix terms and slacks certain one of the terms to nonpositive definite is first constructed based upon special refined block matrices. By employing the novel LKF and functional analysis theory, the nonfragile sampled-data feedback controller is developed to guarantee the exponential synchronization of CDNs and make a more optimal bound estimation of the sampled period. Finally, compared simulation examples are performed as significant to demonstrate the effective performance and the superiority of the proposed methods.

This paper addresses the nonfragile H-infinity observer design problem for uncertain nonlinear switched systems with quantization. The measurement output signals are quantized by a static quantizer before being transmitted. The sector bound approach is applied to obtain the quantization error. To address the problem of observer parameter perturbation, a set of observers with gain variations are constructed. Considering uncertainties existing both in switched systems and observer gains, our purpose is to design a set of robust nonfragile observers such that the observer error systems are globally exponentially stable and satisfy a weighted H-infinity performance index. Based on the average dwell time (ADT) switching approach and some lemmas, sufficient conditions for the desired observers are established in form of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs).
