Extended dissipative sliding mode control for nonlinear networked control systems via event-triggered mechanism with random uncertain measurement

This work concentrates on addressing the sliding mode control problem of continuous-time nonlinear networked control systems. Considering the state information may not be utterly available in practice, a state observer model is designed to estimate the state information. Meanwhile, a type of discrete-time event-triggered mechanism is utilized to filter the sampled signal for reducing the occupation of network bandwidths and the transmission rate of resources. In addition, a random variable obeying the Bernoulli distribution is adopted to describe the phenomenon of uncertainties randomly occurring in the measurement. With the aid of the Lyapunov stability and sliding mode control theory, some sufficient criteria are given to both guarantee the mean-square asymptotic stability of the overall closed-loop system with an extended dissipative performance, and the reachability of predefined sliding surface. Whereafter, the event-triggered weighting matrix, and gains of sliding mode controller and with observer are obtained by solving the matrix convex optimization problem. In this paper, the problem of H-infinity filter design is investigated for a class of nonlinear networked control systems on the basis of the interval type-2 fuzzy set theory. First, mixed random delay and packet dropouts are taken into consideration in the filter design process. And the membership functions and number of fuzzy rules of the filter are different from the plant. Second, the fuzzy filtering error system is built based on interval type-2 fuzzy model. Then, by using Lyapunov function, stability judgment theory, Wirtinger inequality and linear matrix inequality, the filter stability condition is given. Finally, simulation example is provided to show the effectiveness of the method proposed in this paper.

In this paper, a dynamic output feedback-based fuzzy controller is developed for a class of nonlinear network control system where disturbances and multiple random data dropouts exist. Firstly, the network control system is modeled using Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy rules. Meanwhile, the defective communication links with packets loss in both channels, from the sensor to the controller and from the controller to the actuator, are modeled by stochastic binary switching variables with known probability distributions. Then, by using linear matrix inequality method, the sufficient conditions for the existence of the fuzzy controller, the fuzzy robust controller are designed to guarantee the stability of the closed-loop system.

The problem of non-fragile robust H-infinity control for nonlinear networked control systems (NCSs) with time-varying delay and random actuator faults is addressed in this study. The system parameters are allowed to have time-varying uncertainties and the actuator faults are unknown but the upper and lower bounds of which are known. By taking the exogenous disturbance and network transmission delay into consideration, a delay nonlinear system model is constructed. Based on Lyapunov stability theory, linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) and free weighting matrix methods, the sufficient conditions for the existence of the non-fragile robust H-infinity controller gain are derived which can be obtained by solving the LMIs. Finally, a numerical example is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods.

In this paper, the mixed H-2/H-infinity control problem is investigated for a class of nonlinear discrete-time networked control systems with random network-induced delays, stochastic packet dropouts and probabilistic sensor faults. The packet dropouts process is modeled as a homogeneous Markov chains taking values in a finite state space. Network-induced delays occur in a random way with known upper bound. A set of stochastic variables are exploited to describe sensor faults with different probabilistic density functions. By using a delay-dependent Lyapunov functional, a mode-dependent mixed H-2/H-infinity controller is designed to guarantee both stochastic stability of the closed-loop system and the prescribed H-2, H-infinity control performances. Sufficient conditions for the existence of the mixed H-2/H-infinity controller are presented in terms of a series of LMIs. If these LMIs are feasible, then the mode dependent mixed H-2/H-infinity controller can be obtained. A numerical example is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the developed method.

Stability Analysis and Synthesis for nonlinear networked control systems

The paper is concerned with stabilization of nonlinear networked systems which are described by the Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy systems. Based on Lyapunov-Krasovskii stability theorem, stability analysis and control design problems are considered. Novel Lyapunov-Krasovskii function and corresponding generalized controller allow to obtain less conservative conditions for the networked control system to be asymptotically stable. Furthermore, free matrix parameter method is introduced. This method is known to reduce the conservatism in control design conditions. With such novel controller and novel Lyapunov-Krasovskii function, a new controller design method is proposed. Resulting conditions for a controller to stabilize the networked control system are less conservative and are applicable for a wider class of nonlinear systems. © 2016

In this paper, the design of nonlinear observer-based dynamic controller for nonlinear networked control systems (NNCS) will be presented on the assumption that there exist packet loss between the sensor and the controller and between the controller and the actuator. Two different linear function of a stochastic variable satisfying a Bernoulli random binary distribution will represent the existence of the packet loss. The formulation of NNCS problem will be reduced to solving Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI). Finally, a demonistrative example will be presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed LMI approach.

This article develops a method to address the observer-based fuzzy control for a class of discrete-time nonlinear networked control systems under multichannel attacks, in which taking semi-Markov process to characterize the switching among various attack threats on multiple communication channels. The nonlinear networked control systems are modeled by a Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model, where the membership function of the controller depends on the estimated state after observation. Moreover, for solving the problem of inaccessible actual attack modes, an observed-mode sequence driven by emission probabilities is adopted. In the framework of the hidden semi-Markov process with a double-layer stochastic structure, the analysis for epsilon-error mean square stability and conditions for observer/controller synthesis of the resultant system are obtained via a Lyapunov function relied on both real and estimated attack modes. Finally, a simulation of the nonlinear mass-spring-damper mechanical system is conducted, demonstrating the proposed method's feasibility.

In this paper, the problem of reliable H controller design is studied for a class of nonlinear networked control systems. A novel model is presented, which contains random transmission delays, faults of the sensor and actuator. The sensor-to-controller and controller-to-actuator transmission delays with upper bounds are considered, simultaneously. The working conditions of the sensor and actuator are formulated as two independent Markov chains, which take matrix values in finite sets, respectively. The resulting closed-loop system is converted into a Markov switching system. On the basis of the cone complementary linearization algorithm, a mode-dependent reliable controller is constructed such that the closed-loop system is stochastically stable and attains the prescribed H disturbance attenuation level. Finally, a numerical example is given to show the effectiveness of the developed technique.

Observer-based adaptive event-triggered sliding mode control of saturated nonlinear networked systems with cyber-attacks

This paper investigates an observer-based adaptive event-triggered sliding mode control (SMC) problem for nonlinear networked systems subject to actuator and sensor saturation with cyber-attacks. First, an improved adaptive event triggering scheme is put forward to reduce the frequency of data communication between the networked system components, and thus the potential communication cost. It is revealed that the proposed scheme can achieve superior performance over some existing ones in terms of a significant reduction of events. Second, to simplify the design of the sliding surface, an observer with cyber-attacks is designed, which is used to estimate the system state. The state error system and sliding mode dynamics are then established as a closed-loop system accounting for the concurrent effects of cyber-attacks, saturation constraints. Furthermore, by making use of the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, sufficient criterions for guaranteeing both ultimately bounded stability and asymptotic stability of the closed-loop system with prescribed performance are derived. The reachability of sliding mode surface can be ensured by a sliding mode controller. Finally, a numerical example is used to show the effectiveness and superiority of proposed method.
