In this paper, a new method of interfacing an optimisation routine with a digital simulator used for simulation of power electronic circuits is presented. This helps the user in arriving at an effective design for a chosen power electronic circuit. The simulation is done using the Advanced Continuous Simulation Language (ACSL). modeling of power electronic circuit is done using DYMOLA-an object oriented modeling language. In this process, the modeling environment is totally decoupled from the simulation environment, which is state of the art. For a fully controlled rectifier bridge with a two stage filter, the values for filter components are optimised for lower cost against the given design requirements.

A new modeling and simulation methodology for a pneumatic brake system with ABS widely used in commercial vehicle is presented. The main parts of the pneumatic brake system such as air storage reservoir, tandem dual circuit brake valve, relay valve, ABS air regulating valve and diaphragm brake chamber are included and modeled by an objectoriented implementation of the multi-domain unified modeling language Modelica so that the characteristics of multi-domain interactions can be considered. All the modeling and simulation processes are realized by a Modelica language based software-MWoks. The delay time of gas pressure in pipelines is also considered in the model. The dynamic responses of each part and the coupling characteristics for brake pedal force, pedal travel and the output force of brake chamber are both obtained. Finally, the simulation results are validated by experiments.

object orientation has become a major competitive factor in information technology. Reasons for this are the control of complexity, increased quality and possible reuse of modules. The discrete event simulation system SIMPLE++ being presented in this paper brings these advantages to the simulation user. SLMPLE++ is a general purpose system for the objectoriented, graphical, and integrated modeling, simulation, and animation of systems and business processes. Models are built with objects from a class library containing predefined building blocks. User defined classes can be created in an integrated way, allowing the modeling environment to be tailored to different application areas. The class structure, inheritance and unlimited number of hierarchical levels lead to a significant increase of productivity in building, changing, and maintaining models. The concept and benefits of object oriented modeling will be illustrated in the following. In addition to the modeling environment, the support for validation, simulation, and evaluation of results is covered. Also, the integration of simulation models into existing IT solutions as well as application specific object libraries are explained.

The authors provide an informal characterization of the process of workcell application design and describe the architecture and implementation of a software environment called WADE (workcell application development) intended to aid a designer of workcell applications. WADE embodies a reasonably general approach for modeling a wide range of industrial equipment, programming them in as powerful a manner as their control languages, simulating workcell applications with multiple programmable and nonprogrammable equipment, and analyzing the performance in flexible ways. Its design is object-oriented and open-ended, suitable for easy experimentation, extension, and refinement. The implementation is based on a modern language called AML/X with object-oriented programming capabilities and a powerful and production-quality solid modeling system called GDP. The authors illustrate the functionality of WADE with two example applications and conclude with a brief discussion of their experiences in designing and building WADE and some issues for consideration in future work.< >

This article mainly deals with the objectoriented online diagnosis system based on analytical redundancy for fuel cell cars. On the basis of the realization of physical modeling language, Using the specific math frame structure and code compilation system, the method transform the analytical redundancy in object-oriented language into real-time operational diagnosis code in embedded object environment by means of object-oriented physical modeling language and computer assistant developing technology.

In recent years we have observed a growing influence of the object-oriented paradigm. Unfortunately, the current dominant object oriented modeling technique, i.e. the Unified modeling Language, UML, is ill equipped for modeling early requirements which are typically informal and often focus on stakeholder objectives. Instead, UML is suitable for later phases of requirement capture which usually focus on completeness, consistency, and automated verification of functional requirements for the new system. We present a set of guidelines for the integration of early and late requirements specifications. For early (organizational) modeling we rely on the i* framework, whereas for late (functional) requirements specification, we rely on a precise subset of UML. A small example is used to illustrate how the requirements process iterates between early and late requirements.

object-orientedmodeling has become the de-facto standard in the software development process during the last decades. A great deal of research in this area focuses on proposing modeling languages. In order to properly understand, and assess an object oriented modeling language, we believe that a set of criteria or requirements is needed. This paper presents a framework to investigate and compare graphical object oriented modeling languages. This framework is based on a requirement set for an ideal object-orientedmodeling languages.
