The special requirements for the modeling of PDMsystem-extendible organization, modularized structureand cooperation between the front stage and the backstage are introduced. The objects PDM system refersto-products, projects, documents, personnel andworkflow, etc-and their attributes and functions areanalyzed. Based on object-oriented technique, theattributes, data, processes and functions of these objectsare packed in the corresponding classes. Composed ofthese classes, the model of PDM system is set up. Withthe techniques of encapsulation and inheritance ofclasses, the requirements of modularization andextendibility are met; with the user interface and thecontrol of the workflow class, the cooperation betweenthe front stage and the back stage is also met.

OSGi provides a dynamic and versatile platform forthe embedded software evolution. Using this platform,products can be easily upgraded, flexibly reconfiguredand managed for its after-sale services. In OSGi,applications are made up of bundles. The variousfunctions of a product are implemented throughinteractions and co-operations between the bundles. As aresult, how to efficiently and effectively manage thesebundles becomes prominent for the after-sale productsevolution. This article presents a component-basedapproach, where the services and its implementations aredivided into different bundles and are managed by aLeaderBundle for reconfiguration and update.

With the development of informationtechnology, there have taken big changes inworm economy from 90s. It forms a constantglobal market which is full of much *** not only lays on individual capacity, butalso closely suit to the requirement of developingmarket. CSCWD (Computer SupportedCooperative Work in Design)provides asupporting environment in which participantswith difference background and knowledge canwork together to reduce the producing cycle, toincrease the product quality and to acceleratethe product proceeding. The cooperation is thekey to assure the success of product design andthe capacity of competition in market, It's achallenge for the method of traditional softwaredeveloping to develop cooperative designenvironment based on special area. This paperdescribes a method of component-based designof buildings, which is intended to facilitate thecooperation and assure the requirement ofbuildings design. Difference from the commonsoftware system, it fully think the property indeign of buildings and the supporting ofcooperation. It comprises communicationcomponent, the interface that organize thesoftware of buildings design, the database thatstores the component of buildings design, themechanism of data changing and the visualenvironment. It is satisfied with the requirementof cooperative design of buildings.

Design of distributed multimedia systems (DMMS)poses a number of challenges and yet it has beenapproached with traditional software engineeringmethodologies. On the other hand, Semantic analysisand representation of dynamic behavior attract theattention of the software design community. Thispaper reported the attempt of applying a newapproach to the design of DMMS, with emphasis inthe sharing and managing of design knowledgecollaboratively. A semantic model of DMMS and itsknowledge were represented with a semanticdatabase. Various design scenarios were used todescribe the use of the model. How the knowledge inthe semantic database could be used forcollaborative design was also examined.

Information modeling is critical to the integration ofconceptual design and process planning. Aninformation model for conceptual design is provided inthis paper. Conceptual design is a key activity in earlyproduct development. It determines product functions,form, and the basic structure. Since majormanufacturing cost is determined in early design, it iscritical to be able to assess manufacturability and costas early as possible in the design process. A literaturereview of the current status of Computer-Aided Design(CAD) and Computer-Aided Process Planning (CAPP)software technologies reveals the lack of interfacestandards to enable the integration of these systems. Inorder to develop interface standards, informationmodels have to be first developed to define theinterfaces. An initial information model for conceptualprocess planning has been *** modelincludes an activity model and an object model formanufacturing process selection, resource selection,and cost and time estimation. The activity model setsthe context in which the objects are used forinformation sharing and exchange. The object modeldefines classes used in conceptual process *** main purpose of developing this model is to initiatethe development of standard interface specificationsthat are necessary for design and process planningintegration.

Increasingly complex design tasks and globallydistributed designers require a design environment tobe intelligent and collaboration-supported. However,as today's CAD tools are becoming more powerful inhelping designers draw geometric graphs, they havelittle intelligence and weak capability in supportingdesign collaboration. In such a context, distributedagent technology poses to be a promising way to welladdress these problems. In this paper, we present adistributed agent environment based on the CORBAparadigm. We construct an agent community to helpdesigners work collaboratively across computernetworks. To make it autonomous, reactive and pro-active, we construct an agent with a component-based framework. The case study section of thispaper demonstrates that the software systemimplemented according to the proposed architecturecan provide designers with both intelligent assistanceand collaboration support.

It is very important how to find the test order ofclasses in OO programs to make the test work reduced. Inthis Paper, An order-assigned strategy of classesintegration testing is presented. It considers not only thestatic dependency but also dynamic dependency relationbetween classes in OO programs. Based on it, the testinglevel of all classes are defined and ordered. A testinglevel order automatic generating tool--TLOGOS,implements the above strategy. This tool has been used inYSS2000 Electric Power Monitor&Control System, andreduced the test works obviously.

The paper describes an implementation of a module for calculating fair values and balance values of financial instruments, according to International Accounting Standard 39. Position balance values are estimated by Amortization Cost Method (method of effectiveness rate of interest). This module is part of Portfolio Management System (PMS) of Much-Net AG. The module is developed in Microsoft Visual C++. The application is a Windows PC based system that operates on many database/data sources.

Component-based software development has been increasingly adopted as a standard engineering practice to build large systems with prefabricated components. Although this development method enjoys the great benefits of reusing valuable software assets, reducing development costs, improving productivity, etc., it also poses serious challenges to the quality assurance problem of component-based systems, since prefabricated components can not be simply trusted and they could be a new source of system failures. Solving this problem is of vital importance to safety-critical and mission-critical systems. This paper introduces a decompositional verification approach for component-based systems through both formal analysis (model-checking) and traditional software testing.
