Stability analysis and observer-based controllers design for T-S fuzzy positive systems

This paper investigates the stability analysis and observer-based controllers design for T-S fuzzy positive systems. A fuzzy copositive Lyapunov function is first proposed to analyze the stability of the T-S fuzzy positive systems via linear programming. In terms of the property of the fuzzy membership functions, the fuzzy copositive Lyapunov function is employed to derive the less conservative stability conditions. Then, the line-integral Lyapunov function is presented for the stability analysis. The time-derivatives of the membership functions do not appear in the stability analysis of the T-S fuzzy positive systems, therefore, the proposed stability conditions are more relaxed than those of the conventional Lyapunov function approaches. based on the obtained stability conditions, observer-based control schemes are designed such that the resultant closed-loop systems are both stable and positive. Finally, two examples are provided to validate the effectiveness of the results proposed in this paper. (C) 2017 Published by Elsevier B.V.

This paper looks at containment control problem for multi-agent systems under the influence of nonlinearity such as Lipschitz. based on the Laplacian structure of the network, an observer-based containment controller has been proposed. The stability analysis is done based on Lyapunov stability theory in real time domain. The solutions for stability conditions are provided by Algebraic Riccati Equation (ARE). Two simulation examples are given to validate the theoretical results.

This paper proposes a novel approach for designing the observer and controller for Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy systems with an enlarged class of disturbances. The class of the disturbances in this study is significantly enlarged because they do not need to satisfy the constraints such as bounded, generated from an exogenous system, or finite derivative is equal to zero. First, the state/disturbance observer is proposed to estimate the unmea-surable states and disturbances, simultaneously. Then, the controller incorporating with the observer is synthesized to attenuate the disturbances completely and stabilize the T-S fuzzy systems. On the basis of the Lyapunov function and linear matrix inequality technique, the sufficient conditions for the synthesis of the observer and controller are derived in the main theorems. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified via two examples.

In this study, a simultaneous local stabilisation and fault detection (FD) problem for Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy systems is investigated. The authors' attention is focused on synthesising an FD observer and an observer-based controller to achieve the objectives of local stabilisation and FD simultaneously. First, by establishing the relationship among the reachable set, the ellipsoid set and the objective area, a new local stabilisation criterion is proposed. The presented criterion guarantees that the state trajectory starting from a given local region can remain in this region even when the system is subject to disturbances and faults. Meanwhile, the FD observer is designed under a mixed $L_\infty /H\_$L infinity/H_ framework such that the residual signal is robust to the persistent disturbance and sensitive to the fault. Different from some existing methods, via the proposed scheme, the state can be restricted into the modelling area so that the non-linear control problem can be addressed by the T-S fuzzy model approach effectively. Additionally, two different methods are utilised in the co-design of the observer and the controller such that the disturbance is not required to be energy-bounded. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed approach is demonstrated by an example.

Design of switched linear control systems based on Youla parameterization with average dwell time

A two-steps method of designing switched linear systems is presented with the parameterization of globally uniformly asymptotically stabilising controllers with average dwell time (ADT). First, an observer-based switching controller design is given for a class of switched linear system. based on the construction of observer-based controller, conceptions of doubly coprime factorization and Youla parameterization of LTI systems are extended to switched linear systems with respect to globally uniformly asymptotical stability (GUAS) using a state-space expression. Second, the parameterization of closed-loop systems, which are affine with any globally uniformly asymptotically stable -parameter, is then described. This description enables the application of the -- parameter approach to a variety of switched linear control-system designs. The control construction provides us a two-steps process design procedure. Above all, based on the Schur complementary lemma and controller variable elimination method, a systematic weighted L2 performance strategy is focused on and a design scheme of to obtain weighted L2-gain performance is clarified. Finally, a numerical example is given to show the validity and potential of the developed results.

This study deals with (Q, S, R)gamma-dissipative output feedback control design for a class of switched systems with time-varying delay and unmeasurable states. The purpose is to design an observer-based controller and a switching rule to ensure both exponential stability and strict dissipativity of the resulting closed-loop switched systems. Using an augmented switched Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional with triple sum and the improved reciprocally convex combination approach, new sufficient conditions are developed in terms of linear matrix inequalities. Simulation examples are included to demonstrate the validity and effectiveness of the proposed design technique.

Data-driven-based event-triggered tracking control for non-linear systems with unknown disturbance

A novel event-triggered model-free adaptive tracking control problem is studied for non-linear systems with unknown bounded disturbance. A general dynamic linearisation model framework with disturbance input is developed and event-triggered-based model-free adaptive control algorithm is designed by using pseudo-partial derivatives method and input/output measurement data. Owing to the existence of unknown disturbance, a disturbance estimator is designed based on the optimisation criterion technique. Then, a new event-triggering mechanism with dead-zone operator is designed to improve the utility of network communication resources without Zeno phenomenon. Then, an observer-based controller with disturbance compensation is developed, such that the tracking error between the system output and desired output signal converges to a small residual set around the origin. Finally, two simulation examples are provided to show the effectiveness and practicability of the proposed approach.

Switched Linear Control of Quadratic-Boost Converters

In this paper, a new observer-based switched linear control law is designed for output voltage regulation of quadratic-boost converters. The proposed controller is based on the min-type switching strategy. Switching behavior of the converter is considered in the design procedure. The system is based on the direct one-loop control scheme. A robust switched observer is used to decrease the number of required sensors and increase the robustness of the system. Electromagnetic compatibility of the system is investigated. Global stability of the observer-based control system is ensured. A recent sliding mode controller is considered to compare the results with those of the proposed controller. Performance of the proposed controller is investigated through a number of simulations and experiments.

Analysis and Design of a controller for an Input-Saturated DC-DC Buck Power Converter

In this paper, a novel controller for an input-saturated direct current to direct current (DC-DC) buck power converter has been proposed. The control scheme guarantees global asymptotic stability, even though the input to the power converter is affected by a hard saturation nonlinearity that results from the fact that in practice the duty cycle can only take continuous values between zero and one. Specifically, asymptotic stability is ensured by using a special quadratic-type Lyapunov function and LaSalle's invariance principle. In addition, to prevent inductor current's noisy measurements, an observer is proposed together with the proposed control law. Stability is also discussed rigorously for the resulting observer-based scheme. The real-time experimental comparisons with respect to a known approach are presented. Better performance is obtained with the novel observer-based controller.

One-shot design of performance scaling matrices and observer-based gain-scheduled controllers depending on inexact scheduling parameters

This paper addresses the design problem of continuous-/discrete-time observer-based Gain-Scheduled Output Feedback (GSOF) controllers for Linear Parameter-Varying (LPV) systems, in which some of the state-space matrices are multi-affine with respect to parameters, with the simultaneous design of scaling matrices for multiple uncertainty blocks under the supposition that inexact scheduling parameters are available. In the design of GSOF controllers for practical systems in induced L-2/l(2)-norm control framework, the following features are to be incorporated: i) structured and easily-understandable controllers are preferable to enhance the practicality, ii) the scaling matrices related to multiple uncertainty blocks which represent various design specifications are also to be designed to reduce conservatism, and iii) one-shot design is preferable to prevent numerical problems in iterative algorithm. However, in general, neither the design problems of the structured controllers nor the simultaneous design of controllers and the performance scaling matrices are formulated in terms of Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMIs). Under the supposition that the uncertainties in the provided scheduling parameters are bounded (this supposition holds true for proportional uncertainties and for absolute uncertainties as well as for the mixed ones of them), we derive a new tractable one-shot multi-affine condition for our problem via dilated/extended LMI technique under some mild assumptions for LPV systems.
